At the shove, Ren sloooowly lowered his wings, removed his hands from his head (which he was protectively guarding) and gave Jove a Look.
"Pushing is not how you take care of a sick person," he said, with as much dignity under the circumstanes as he could muster.
Which wasn't very much in the slightest.

Jove snorted. He knew that! It was just hard not to push when he was irritated, it was more natural to express himself physically than with his words. He wanted to take care of Ren, he just didn't know how!
Taking a deep breath to calm his frustrations, the pup picked up the razor again. But this time he made no move to approach the gryphon, he just held it up, and tilted his head as though asking "Removing cooties is how you take care of a sick person, yes?"

There was a small pause and a lot of staring.
"No."
Another pause. Then a pout.
"My scruff is not causing me to get sick, okay. Being under a lot of stress and not eating properly is causing me to get sick."

Jove's head tilted the other way, and he set down the razor. Scruff, was that what Ren was calling it? Clearly the gryphon was too attached to that weird little bit of hair to realize what it really was. But he wasn't entirely wrong. The pup knew that food was important, and some foods were more important than others. Which was why his brother didn't like it if he only ate cookies. It made no difference to Jove, but there was a hidden 'nutritional' content that was important to things that were alive.
Jove rummaged around in a pocket of his coat, and pulled out a mushroom, once again tilting his head in question.

Ren relaxed a little when Jove set down the razor, but he was still giving him a Suspicious Face.
"Yes, good," he said, and then looked blankly at the mushroom.
"...can I...eat it?" asked Ren, wondering if it was some sort of pet to Jove. He did love his mushrooms after all...

Jove nodded quickly, and offered the slightly squished fungi to Ren. Was that how you took care of sick people, by giving them mushrooms? It was definitely nutritious, full of good things like vitamin D! His tail gave a hesitant wag. Maybe this would cure his brother!

Ren shrugged, took the mushroom, and popped into his mouth, chewing thoughtfully.
After a moment he swallowed, coughed slightly, and said,
"Not bad. Needs a bit of seasoning or something, though...

The pup stared at Ren expectantly. Was he going to get better now? Was he going to make a full recovery? It took Jove a minute or so to realize it wouldn't happen right away. Maybe... a couple minutes.
He tried to tug Ren to his feet, sitting on the bed would be more comfortable than lying awkwardly on the floor. And then once the mushroom kicked in, they could go for lunch!

He dragged himself to his feet, sloped over to the bed, and promptly fell face forward onto it.
"I want spookies," came the muffled voice, as Ren wasn't exactly making any effort to move.

Jove rolled the dumb gryphon over so he could breathe, and gave him a long look. No. No spookies, those weren't nutritious at all! Ren was clearly contradicting himself, first saying eating poor made him sick, and then asking for sweets! Did that maybe mean he was dying after all?
The pup patted down his long coat, but he had no more tasty and nutritious mushrooms hiding in his pockets. So he did what he could, frowning and pushing Ren around until he was lying normally on the bed. When he sat down on the edge of it, several foxfires jumped up.
If he couldn't fix the eating part, maybe he could try and fix the stress part.
Giving Ren a "no nonsense" glance, he tucked the gryphon into bed.

In which Ren was rolled around like a log by Jove.
He gave the boil a Look, flapped his wings once, and then sighed.
"Okay, okay, okay," he said, and dutifully wriggled back into the bed, this time in the proper fashion, and he let Jove tuck him in, reaching out to snag one of the foxfires and hold it in his arms like a fluffy little pillow.
"You gonna stay?" asked Ren, and coughed.

The pup snorted, his best "Why, you're fine," expression. But he sat down on the edge of the bed anyway. He didn't plan on leaving, not even if Ren told him to. He was going to stay there and watch his brother and make sure he wasn't dying. If it suited Ren as well, all the better.
However. His brother might not have asked him to stay if he knew Jove would make himself comfortable... And then do nothing but stare.
