Hel released Mot’s hand, and then reached up, pinching both of his cheeks and squishing his face while she spoke.
“No, not maybe. You will. You will try. Your friends believe in you, ya know? They look up to you…I know they did during the Haunted House field trip. You do not give yourself enough credit. Remember Mot, you can do anything you want, if you have the will.”

Mot made a muffled sound of discontent as his cheeks were pinched by Hel. "I think that scares me even more. If they really do think so well of me, that is a lot of pressure to do well." Mot replied, his hands reaching up to rub his cheeks.
"I can't do anything, that is a bar set much too high. If I reach for the stars I'll fall to the ground. I'd rather try to hop a fence first."

“It is not pressure, Mot…they simply have the desire to see you do well, and they wish you the best!”
Unfortunately for Mot, Hel was still pinching and squishing his cheeks. “Do not say you can not do anything. You can do something.” At his next words, she paused and then grinned excitedly. “Ya! That is it exactly!” She cried. “Do what you can! Set goals that you know you can accomplish! The stars are the long run, Mot, but the fence is something you can do now.”

Mot sighed, his eyes looking tired, but relenting. "Okay. You win. I'll try." Vague as a promise it was, he'd do what he could. "I'll do what I can, okay?"

“HUZZAAAAAAAH!” Hel wailed, throwing her hands into the air now, elated.
She then threw her arms tightly around Mot’s waist and leaned back, lifting the grim off of his feet and spun around the room with him. “I am really happy to hear that!” She laughed.

Mot yelped, his body suddenly leaned into Hel's as she spun him around like a scareling. It was kins of pathetic on his part how he could be lifted so easily considering his height.
"G-good!" Mot squawked, hands tentavily patting her back.

After a few more twirls, she put the grim back on his feet, and then patted his shoulder.
“Good talk, Mot, good talk.” She nodded her head a bit. She said that lightly, but she really did mean it. She clasped the boil on the shoulder, smiling up at him. “You try. Do what you can. I will be around, whenever you may need it. Just yell or something.” She stuck her tongue out a bit. “If I need you, I will yell too, but do not be afraid to poke your head into my business either.”

Mot let out a breath of air as he was set down. His gaze dropped to meet Hel's, his expression rather flat. "Alright. I'll poke my head in your business, since I seem to have your permission."
His eyes traced her features.
"So what happened then?"

Hel reached up and pushed up the corners of his mouth with her finger tips, holding it there for a moment before letting go.
At his question, the ghoul merely shrugged. “Your guess is as good as mine. I just woke up one morning and it was crawling across my skin like pulsing veins. I feel fine though…well…even more than fine…” She shrugged again. “But if I keel over one day or cease to exist, it is probably because of this.” She laughed then. “Go figure, huh?”

"I'd like to hope it doesn't kill you." Mot said with a frown, despite her attempts to fix him otherwise. "Haven't you asked your mother about the curse?"
He sighed and ruffled his hair. "Well.. at least it suits you."

“Of course I asked…! But it had only split my appearance for the past seventeen years…oh…and made my wings smaller than usual…and made me smaller than usual too…” Hel thought about this, tapping her chin. “Bah! I should be my mother’s height right now, Mot!” Hel exclaimed, exasperated briefly before she huffed.
“But no way I am asking her right now…I think she would freak…” The ghoul then looked a bit sheepish. “I have not even told her about…ya know…” She made flapping motions with her hands, but then perked up. “Oh ya? You think this suits me?”

"You haven't!? Hel!" Mot scowled and bopped the ghoul over the head. "She is your mother! You love her, yes? Why would you withhold something so important?"
He gave a concerned look, before sighing with a nod. "Yeah, it does. You look good."

“ACK!” Hel reached up to rub her head and then laughed. “You think I am overbearing, Mot? Well, multiply me by nine, the ninth one being very concentrated, and then mix in my father, who makes the house rattle when he walks…tell one that I have lost my wings, and now the curse has taken over apparently, and it will rain blood and at the end of the entire fiasco, there will be many, innocent heads on platters.” Hel nodded her head.
“If we are lucky, that would be minimal damage. Now you see why I have not bothered saying anything yet?” She smiled a bit. “Thanks. I am pleased to hear that.”

Mot huffed. Well, Hel knew her own family better than he. Even if he felt she was denying them the right to know their daughter's well being. "I suppose..."
Mot crossed his arms, shifting his weight onto one leg. "So, what now?"

Hel shrugged. “I dunno. You tell me. I have s**t to do. I need to go to the grocery store and stock up…” She paused. “If you want to come along, you are more than welcome, if not; this is where we part ways for the day.”
She smiled.
