Amir Khayri

PostPosted: Fri Dec 14, 2012 9:28 pm

"...Now this is something else. I didn't see him take anything." Amir muttered to himself, taking a more defensive stance as he began to circle around the stationary bucktooth'd one. If nobody approached him, then that meant that it was an outside influence. Rather strange for a group of bandits to have a stave user among them. "What do you make of it Amo-" He began to inquire, bring up his blade to block an incoming swing. He was definitely back on the offensive and ready to spill some blood!

He strained underneath the weight of his blow, trying to reaffirm his footing to make a clear counter-strike. It had to be a quick and decisive swing, considering the meddling that came from the unknown source. The bandit had exerted an impressive amount of force, knocking himself out of balance. Even as he registered the chop, he had been knocked too out of wack to do anything about it. It was a clean cut to the chest, deep enough to draw blood but just enough to recover from. The Sentrian stumbled back, clutching his blade as his heel dug into the stone beneath them.

"Together you two!"

He called out, arching his swing as he pushed into his slash. It was a clean cut to the bandit's side, a quick hiss of pain won from the bandit. "We have to hit faster than they can be patched up!"

- Kierkess Renvald -

His blade held in place by the bandit in front of him, Kierkess steeled himself for another blow from behind. What he got, however, were a few cries of shock and pain along with the familiar thud associated with fallen bodies. That was good enough for him. Now no longer worried about those surrounding him, Kierkess pushed back against the axe bandit and actually managed to impale him through the torso after a short struggle. User Image

Kierkess threw a glance over his shoulder and, after momentarily recoiling from the sharp pain the movement caused him, noted the woman with the tome. He didn't really like indirect combat, but Kierkess could hardly complain when it was on his side and had just saved his life. Looking back to the bandits, he saw the other spear-wielder charging him along with one of the people he'd cut down (whoever was doing the long-distance healing was officially on his to-kill list now).

Deciding that his sword wouldn't be enough punishment for this lance-using b*****d, Kierkess sloppily dislodged his halberd from the dead meat it had been resting upon and, ignoring his injuries, brutally smashed the axe-head against the bandit's side. The man hurriedly tried to parry, but the halberd was already embedded deep into his waistline by the time he'd quit fumbling. The sheer force of the impact also startled the swordsman next to the dying spear-wielder, giving Kierkess enough time to ram into him with his armored and uninjured shoulder with full force. Rather than finishing the knocked-over attacker off quickly as he was struggling to gather his bearings, however, Kierkess instead elected to plant one foot on his sword arm and the other in the center of his chest. Even though the footing was rather uneven, he still managed to take a swing at the last attacker left in his vicinity, effectively decapitating him. Having survived from the almost fatal situation, Kierkess was about to hurry over to Bedivere when he noticed that the fellow under his boots was still wriggling around. Shooting him an annoyed glare, Kierkess stamped once on the man's skull and then moved on back to his mount.

It surprisingly didn't take long to calm the horse down, though Kierkess had a good mind to slap it upside the head for not coming to his rescue. "Hmph...and after I told you of all my noble adventures across the land too..." Perhaps "Leer-a-nyah" Bedivere was jealous of Rausten Bedivere or something...well, whatever. Now sitting once more atop his mount, Kierkess locked back on to the Sentrian trio and figured that that nonsense over there had gone on just a bit too long. Raising his halberd into attack position, Kierkess was about to go into another mad charge before he glanced around and saw a steady stream of bandits continue to pour out and head toward...the Sentrians, again. Muttering darkly under his breath, Kierkess abandoned any intent to join up with his allies and instead charged into the fray once more, halberd once again working its way through any neck it could get its tip on. Hopefully it wouldn't dull too much.

Regulus

When Regulus finally arrived, after getting healed and buying some new equipment, he found that they had already broken through the walls of the bandit fortress. "Damn! I've nearly missed the battle!" With that he galloped forward towards the hole that had been knocked into the wall.

After dodge a couple of arrows that a few of the bandits had sent towards him. Regulus jumped over the small pile of rubble that marked what had been a section of wall. He then threw a javelin through the ribcage and heart of a sword wielding bandit who had seen him jump through the gap.

After seeing that the three Sent-something-or-anothers seemed to have their own situation well in hand Regulus saw Kierkess charging into a large group of bandits with his halberd scything away. He urged his horse into a charging gallop towards the group Kierkess was fighting then grabbed a steel lance and buried it into the shoulder of a bandit who was running towards him. he then pulled it out of the man as he charged past into the press, repeating the process with slight variations on several bandits. "Hyah! C'mon umm... horse who still needs a name! Let's kill these curs!"

Something was wrong. That bandit wasn't down. In fact, it looked like all their efforts had gone to waste just now. Ramla could feel a faint presence of magic around him. Holy magic. Did someone heal him?!

Before the mage could get a chance to discern the whereabouts of the enemy healer, the bucktoothed bandit had attacked her liege.

"Lord Amir!" she cried out. "Grr, just go down already! Stupid bandit!" Ramla added, getting exasperated. She wasn't going to hold back now, seeing how the bandit had just hurt her dear Amir. "My lord, watch out! You blasted bandit, the punishment for attacking and harming my lord is death!"
Die the death! Sentence to Death! Great Equalizer is the Death!

Manipulating the wind once more, she launched several blocks of rubble from her artillery at the bandit, one at a time and growing in size. The first was aimed at his gut, the second towards his chest, the third towards the shoulder on the side his axe was held, and the final at his opposite leg.

Ramla used Rock Blast! It was... somewhat effective!

She was running low on rubble to manipulate with her wind magic, so she would have to quickly decide whether to use the largest to try and bust another hole into the fort wall or to go back to using wind magic.

"Amon, you're up!"

Healing magic. The bandits had a healer. Magic users were rare amongst the bandits Amon had fought in his time, but he knew healing magic when he saw the wounds of their attackers mend themselves, and their ratfaced assailant, who should have been unable to move at this point, got back up as well.
He knew what this could mean. Almost instinctively, he whipped his vision around and tried to see every bandit that had crossed his vision before. He ran in the direction of his lord, saw the rat assail him, Lord Khayri block the blow, and Ramla use her magic to give the rat the furious stoning he deserved.

Amon followed the lines of motion. His feet carried him, and his spear was ready for the attack. He saw the bandit, damaged and unable to retaliate to his comrade's ranged blows.
As Ramla called for his finishing blow, Amon didn't miss a beat. He ran into the space between the two and impaled the rat through the chest.

Amon freed his lance and cast the bandit aside. He exhaled through his teeth. After a glance at his comrade and Lord from where he stood for reassurance, Amon returned to the two. That was not the only bandit that had been reinvigorated, and more were already coming back.

Rath
------------

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. By the time Rath rode into the fort, most of the work had been done already. The efforts of the group had just about routed all the bandits, save for a few lingering ones. That was good. Too much time had been wasted on contending with these bandits. They were behind schedule, and that put others at risk. It was time to put an end to all this by bringing down the boss.

Rath galloped forth, deeper into the fort. Interference by bandits was met with steel or by trampling, paving the way for others to follow after him. The riff-raff was nowhere close to being a conceivable threat to him. As he approached the large blond man at the rear of the fort, he switched out his sword for his bow and aimed it... at the girl who was using her stave to heal the other bandits. He kept an eye on the man as well, but taking out the one that was healing the enemy and thus putting the team in danger was higher priority to ensure everyone made it out unharmed.

"Lower your stave, girl." he said coldly, with a frightfully serious look in his eyes. "I will only tell you once."

His eyes were unnervingly wide from the shock. As he slipped away, one of his buckteeth wobbled and then fell down his face, resting in the growing pool of blood.

User Image Harold growled lowly as he saw Rath approach. He glared at the cleric and then looked back to the incoming savage, his axe firmly gripped and at the ready. As the man told the cleric to lower her stave, Harold laughed harshly. "Heh heh heh haccck! I don't think that'll be happenin', vice captain!" As the savage had his attention fixated on the girl, Harold took the opportunity to dash forward and swing. "But by all means, keep your aim on her!!"

"I guess there comes a time where I have to pay for what I've done."

It was all that she had to say as she renewed her grip on her staff, her eyes locking with the Nomad before letting it fall to her side. "Just make sure you don't miss when he-" Going against what she expected, Sir Stink Breath raised his axe and charged at the wrong individual! So that's the game he decided to play? It was true, someone of rank would be a much better prize to take out than just a lowly cleric.

As long as you forgot they happened to be on the same side.

This man seemed to be quite the experienced fighter...Not many people could give like that, the source of the shaken stance she tried to recover from. The stave was brought back up into the air, its glow countering any damage from the coward's sudden rush. "If he is the Vice Captain, then you make the mistake of targeting our client. ...Even if I'm scared..I'm a member of Cloak! This man has selected our services to see this through...And I will not let you to continue to harm him."

- Kierkess Renvald -

Kierkess was claiming yet another head just as he noticed a curiously familiar fellow on horseback coming in his direction. For some reason his instinct wasn't to charge at the man headfirst and murderize him, so that must have meant that this was an ally. That being the case, Kierkess promptly lost interest and went back to riding around and strategically takng down whoever he could get his axe on. The only thing this green guy contributed to the battle was leaving him less targets and having deplorable timing seeing how Kierkess had been staring death at the face a few minutes ago. User Image

Speaking of that close shave, all this moving around did nothing to help the fact that he was losing blood at a pretty steady rate. Perhaps it was his red armor and the fact that he was far too pumped up to care, but he mistook any discomfort for fatigue and continued fighting. When there came a point in time that the amount of bandits had thinned considerably, which was pretty damn impressive considering their number was that of a small army and the Learanian team in the fort seemed to only be about half a dozen, Kierkess caught sight of his boss moving on without them. And by boss, he was of course referring to Rath.

"...What's-his-name better not think that he can capture the flag without me," he murmured, not even realizing that he was thinking aloud. Anyway, it wasn't like anyone but Bedivere could hear him. Regardless of the horse's surely deep thoughts on the matter, Kierkess urged him (her?) into full gallop. Whoever Rath didn't pick off, Kierkess was sure to take care of. Might as well be thorough in this most noble of genocides, after all.

By the time he'd caught up with the nomad, the bandit had already launched an attack on Rath. However, Kierkess's attention was instead taken up by that blasted cleric in the background. She was a beauty, surely, but also seemed to be in the process of healing the bandit. If Blondie the Big Bad Boss Bandit were to be healed even as Rath landed an otherwise decisive blow, it was possible he could come out on top. Given that Kierkess wasn't completely confident in his ability to avoid hitting the guild leader whilst taking out the bandit, there was only one other option.

...Kill the hell out of that cleric, of course! Besides, that b***h had almost certainly healed those grunts that had gotten lucky and almost taken him out. This was a win-win opportunity for everyone. So, heroically, Kierkess charged at the non-combatant (right on past Blondie and Rath) and attempted to take her out in one glorious stroke of his halberd.

User Image Okay, either these bandits had super powers..or it was their own Cleric (By own, she meant Rin) was healing them. Regardless, she had to make her way to her fast. Luckily, there were a few power house in the army that were strong enough to plow right through. Mainly that nomad she saw earlier, had to hand it to him and thank the guy later for saving her the trouble and usages of her magic book.

However, there was one certain one among them that worried her. Venetia tucked her tome in her back pouch and quickly darted toward the front where everyone was headed. If she made it on time, she could prevent the others from killing off their 'healer'. That was what worried her the most, given that they've never actually SEEN who Rin was before. Julia was by no means able to get to her and the only other person available right now that she knew of was herself. By the time Venetia actually MADE it there, the nomad she saw earlier was there...as well as the guy in red armor. He was going in for the kill! That moron! Venetia darted after the man, extended her hand out toward him and...

"STOP!!" The sage called out, suddenly grabbing her tome (Not caring which one) out of her bag and threw it at his head. It managed to smack him on the side of the head, book open. She was going to use any means and force necessary to stop him from killing one of her comrads "Hey! Mr. Stupid, unless you want to be beaten by the other Cloak members, I suggest you step down." She turned to the cleric, a little out of breath but hey, she made it. "Rin!"

Rath
------------

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. As soon as the bandit boss charged forward, Rath narrowed his eyes and changed his aim. However, an instinctive evaluation on the effectiveness of his shot determined that it was not worth taking; the bandit was too close and was about to cripple his horse. Instead, Rath quickly reared his horse away. As the axe swung and missed, Rath circled his horse around, keeping a safe distance, and began to aim.

It was then that he felt the sensation of his minor cuts and scrapes from the fight begin to heal. He glanced over at the cleric, and saw that Venetia had stopped Kierkess from making a mistake. He figured the girl was likely the captured member from Cloak, she seemed too out of place to be a part of the bandit lot. That was why Rath had given her the chance to desist her aid to the bandits. Now that she was safe from harm, truly the only thing left was to take care of the boss.

Perfecting his aim while mobile, Rath fired his arrow at the incoming leader and then rode a little further to keep his distance and be able to fire again. This leader was not like his lackeys; he would not fall from a single arrow or one swipe of his sword.

User Image Harold grunted as he reaffirmed his footing after his swing missed. He swung his head, flinging his ponytail over his shoulder, as he kept his eyes fixed on the savage's movements. Dealing with an opponent on horseback was always troublesome and this particular person was a nightmare to be in the presence of. However, Harold couldn't help but feel like he was being underestimated. That was unacceptable.

As the arrow shot towards him, Harold lifted his axe and with careful aim, deflected it away. He chuckled lowly, but quickly stopped when he glanced to the side and saw that his captive was no longer doing her job. Instead, she was healing the enemy. He glanced back and noticed that Rath was clearly expecting him to give chase, probably to get him away from the cleric. That wasn't going to happen.

Instead of pursuing the vice captain, Harold charged for the cleric, who was likely busy talking or tending to her two companions. When he was closing in on her, Harold's eyes blazed as he unleashed a powerful swing down upon her. "I don't recall tellin' ya to stop, lass!!"

- Kierkess Renvald -

Kierkess stopped mid-swing, his already aching head suddenly getting a bit worse. He started rubbing the impacted area with his axe hand, meaning that he'd just dropped his weapon head-first into the ground at Rin's feet. Of course it didn't stick, so it toppled over with an awkward clatter. Kierkess looked for the source of his discomfort, failing to notice the more significant problem of his blood smeared all over the place (among others), but he did succeed in locating the book. Squinting at it, the red knight used all of his little gray cells and determined that someone had just literally thrown a tome at him (whereas the figurative version of that would be using the actual magic). User Image

Disregarding both the bandit and the cleric, Kierkess turned and looked at the Sage that had rescued him before with confusion. Strangely, what with the way he was rubbing his head and the steady loss of blood from his body, his facial expression came out something akin to glazed-over puppy dog eyes. He was of a mind to snarkily ask her if she even knew how those book things were supposed to work anyway. Instead, he asked "Bwuh? What's a Cloak?" Interestingly, he did not know the actual meaning of that word, never mind that it was an organization. What he did get, though, was that the cleric was the hostage person they'd come here for. It was really sort of a bummer since Kierkess had a bone to pick with the healer and...and the guy who'd put her up to it.

The red knight's somewhat unfocused eyes lit up as he connected the final dot, thankfully just as Blondie was about to do exactly what Kierkess had been about to do. Having to think through his options quickly, he realized there was no way to get Bedivere into position so that he could properly parry the blow. And so, even though it was against his better judgement, Kierkess dismounted whilst unsheathing his sword and hurriedly intercepted Harold's axe. Now, Kierkess was strong, but he was also pretty badly hurt. After the short exchange, Harold's axe tip was very slightly buried in Kierkess's shoulder. His sword, still clenched in somewhat shaken hands, had prevented it from going any deeper.

"Oh Venetia...Oh Venetia...I could...I could bloody well kiss you right now." Rin let out an exasperated sigh, legs almost buckling underneath her to the point her staff was the only thing keeping her up. She was much too fragile to be this close to the big fish, especially with her level of experience. Then again, it had been a head-first plunge into war far ever since that nasty bit of time in Arajudia. Toughens you up a bit doesn't it? Thank the Goddess for quirky Sages and good ol' fashioned literature.

And rather insane red-garmented murder-axemen too! Even with Harold's around with the Vice Captain, the old Haggar had the sense to come after her the moment that Rath had stepped back. Thankfully chivalry wasn't dead in the few brain-cells she could only guess this Kierkess possessed. She was surprised that she hadn't heard "Oh god, Frank! Frank, I can't lose you! Stay with me, oh please don't burn out! I don't want to be alone!" whenever he had stopped to ponder the universe's meaning of Cloak. She made a mental note to save her remarks for another day, with regards to the rather large axe that was now making its way into his shoulder pending his shaking grip on his weapon. The work of a healer was never done...Especially with the look of this one. Every inch of him was covered in a not-so-healthy amount of blood. She considered it a miracle he was still standing! It was almost as if his hair was covered in it, by the judge of it! With a deep sigh, she lifted up her stave to repair any major damage to his person, a look of worry growing as she examined the stave itself.

It was starting to run out of charge, much to her dismay. Staves like these are simply not that easy to come across, given the environment of the continent these days. Most were collected for the war effort, as valuable as they were in gifted hands. No matter the use, it was always a shame to see one go....Especially when it happened to occur mid-battle. But the day was almost won, the last few charges would still be enough to win them the day. "Thank you sir! Now push the old b*****d back!" She encouraged the cavalier, her tongue rather unlike her. But it was to be expected. She had simply had enough with this whole entire matter! She had been strung around, chained up, pushed around, commanded, insulted, and her own personal boundaries had been trampled on entirely! She had reached the point that any hesitation was long gone out the window.

"Go shove it up your own arse and smoke it, you beard pile of garbage!"

- Kierkess Renvald -

Kierkess's grip on his weapon as well as his physical health improved as the Cloaking person (whatever) healed him. Perhaps this accursed bandit-helping cleric wasn't so bad after all! Especially with that tone of voice the timid-looking girl was currently using to egg him on. It was the kind of 'Hell yes, let's kill the ever-loving crap out of this b*****d' sort of attitude that he very much approved of. Still, even if he was getting some of his strength back, Blondie sort of had the advantage here. It was a good thing Rin was draining what there was left of that staff or Kierkess might not have felt crazy enough to do what he did next. User Image

In an attempt to break their stalemate, Kierkess leaned forward after establishing some better footing and just straight-on headbutted the bandit who possessed a slightly larger build than his own. And then, for good measure, he did it again just because his bruised head had gone numb and there was no point holding back now that he couldn't feel anything. Counting on Blondie being dazed, Kierkess shoved with all his might in an attempt to throw the man completely off-balance and push him back. If the nomad and sage had had any reservations about firing while Kierkess and Rin were in such close proximity, it would hopefully give them all the space they needed. Of course, he'd rather finish the bandit off himself, but his head hurt a lot right now for some odd reason and Kierkess wasn't sure if he'd enjoy the kill as much.
