Crown looked up at Kyran words... why hadn't he thought of it before? How stupid of him! Chandra! She was a midwife, dealt with children and baskets and foal on a near daily basis! She could help! For a moment he turned and looked at the baskets again. They were perfect in his eyes, their little purple gems shining brightly and reminding him of the eyes he fell in love with... Kyran. Still, Kyran was right, no matter what he would love and care and cherish these baskets as his own, for in his heart he knew they were connected, knew they were his and Kyrans. Impossible perhaps but that was how he felt with every fiber of his being. Getting to his four hooves he nodded to Kyran. "Do you think I should ask Chandra to take a look?" He didn't want to over exagerate the situation, didn't want to do anything Kyran would get upset with.... was Kyran even as worried as him? Was he simply playing the overprotective and clueless father? A frown furrowed his brow as he thought about it.
Kyran smiled and nods. "I think it can never hurt to get the opinion of someone that knows what they are doing. Go get Chandra, I'll mind these two, if its nothing then its nothing, if theres somethign wrong, better to know sooner than later." His smile reassuring, not worrying as much because if they were both worrying as much as he felt then the foals were doomed. Besides he had faith that in his dream Crown had had strong, healthy happy children, and as his wish was for Crowns hearts desire he didn't imagine anything being seriously wrong. At least that was the thought that he kept clinging to.

He nodded softly. Yeah, it was better to be safe than sorry, it was something they often implemented in the herd when he had been on duty there... it was strange to think that those days were behind him, or at least on hold for the moment. It was as if his life had completely changed from the ideal he had originally mapped out for himself... and you know what.... he wouldn't change it for a moment!
"Ok. I'll go get her." He had no fear or doubt that Kyran would be as good as his word and keep their baskets safe, knew he would do everything in his power to do just that. Still, Crown felt a little torn... he didn't want to leave any of them. This is for them! He reminded himself, as he opened his wings with a snap. "I'll be back soon!" He said with determination before setting off into the skies to get Chandra. It didn't take long to return to the herd lands, didn't take long to find the angenicorn with her striking black, blue and white pelt. Panting slightly from flying full pelt he smiled at her, "Chandra...." How did he explain this? It wasn't as if baskets just magically appeared every day? And it wasn't as if anyone in the herd had experience of this kind of thing.... plus... he and Kyran were both stallions... his mind was a drift with such thoughts, and it took a physical shake to snap himself free of them. It didn't matter what he said or told, all that mattered was that Chandra came with him. "I need your help."
Chandra had been playing with Zaniah and Heze's hair, having stolen some of her fathers beads in order to hold her new style in place... at least for a moment or two. As Crown approached, the look of seriousness washed over and sombered her mood immediately. She could only remember seeing the stallion this serious a few times before.... most recently when he announced he would be travelling with Kyran. Fear prickled up and down her spine, was something wrong? "What's wrong?" She got to her four hooves and approached the younger stallion. "Where's Kyran?"
Kyran snuggled don with the baskets, not sure if they needed to be kept warm but going with that just in case, maybe they would move away if it got too hot. Resting his head down on the grass, his wings covering the baskets, not aware of the fact that he looked like he had crash landed.

Crown looked at Chandra for a moment before nodding, the action didn't really make sense since it didn't exactly answer or tell anything correctly, it was just something he seemed to do automatically. With a pause he gritted his teeth and stopped the movement. "Sorry.... not sure which way is up right now..." He admitted. Deciding he would explain later he went with the simpliest route, "I have two baskets I need you to come have a look at.... please." Crown figured it was the surest way to get her immediate attention without having to explain too much in front of her daughters. He wasn't sure if it was the emergency he was clearly making it seem like... but he was worried. Silly really.
For a moment he watched her, hopeful that she would help.
Chandra looked at him for a moment with gentle kindness before slipping into seriousness. Baskets that needed her? As if she could say no. "Of course Crown... show me the way." She hoped that having Crown with her would cover the rule of taking someone with her, after all she really didn't want to break the trust between her and Sonnet. Turning to her daughters she said softly and quickly, "Tell your father I have gone with Crown, I'll be back soon though. I love you all." She smiled at them before opening her wings and facing Crown once more. "Let us not waste time." He could explain on the way or later, she didn't mind, but the idea of baskets in trouble had her itching to act.
A few seconds later they were both in the air and heading to the baskets that needed her.
Kyran sighed, not napping like he would have, alert for preditors, the baskets and Crown, though he looked far from it. In reality he was focused on any sounds or movements under his wings.

Crown landed with a soft patter of hooves, he had kept silent the whole way here, not trusting what he might say... he was too worried. As they landed his eyes darted straight to Kyran and the baskets. He walked towards them with a smile upon his face, and feeling very much like he was 'home'. Turning back he looked at Chandra. "Here they are." Part of him knew he should sit down and relax but he couldn't, he was nervous and shuffled uncomfortable on his legs. "We're..." He said 'we're' since he wanted to show that he and Kyran were united in this venture, "...a little worried that they aren't moving." He gulped, feeling silly for voicing his concerns but he wanted to make sure they were ok.
Chandra landed after Crown and kept silent, she figured he would talk to her when he was ready and so she just followed. Her eyes darted straight to the baskets, even as she nodded towards Kyran in a manner that said 'hello'. Something about the baskets struck her straight away... they were practically identical! She had never seen such a thing before, and it was quite a surprise. Twins. A smile crossed her lips, even as Crown spoke. "Let me have a look at the them then." She said softly as she lowered herself to the ground. The smile stayed in place even as she took the concern seriously. Placing an ear on top of the basket closest to her, with a yellow ribbon threaded on it, she listened. Tha-dump. Tha-dump. A strong heart beat. "This one seems strong and healthy." She said softly, pleased to find it so. "How old are they?"
Kyran gave Chandra a nod in return giving Crown a reassuring smile, looking at the yellow riboned basket that she said was strong and healthy. "A week I think, its been a bit chaotic since they appeared, so I'm not totally sure if it is more or less than that. But about a week."

Crown found himself unable to do anything other than watch, unable to say or do anything more. He let Kyran reply as he watched.... the first was well and healthy... the relief that washed over him was almost instantious, expect he knew it wasn't over, the second basket was still to be inspected.
Chandra understood their concern and nodded in understanding. "I see." Placing her ear on the second basket she repeated her listening. Again she heard a strong; tha-dump, tha-dump. Relief that there was nothing wrong settled into her heart as she looked up at the pair. "The second is healthy too." She chirped brightly, "A week? It's not uncommon for new baskets to be rather quiet for the first week, I am sure you will see them perk up soon.... and I must say... twins... wow... I have never seen twin baskets before." She giggled a little in excitment, her smile as bright as the Moon she loved so much. "Whose are they?" She asked, having noted already how the colourings were similar to Crown... but from what she knew Crown had never been with a mare... so who did tehse baskets belong to?
Kyran looked at Crown, having no idea how to answer that, especially as the only thing that looked like any connection to him were the spots on the tops. "Uhhhh..... Thats the thing...... ummm..." Looking embarassed and a little uncomfortable, they would be thought insane if they told the truth.

Crown found himself blushing a little at the question and Kyran's words. His golden yellow eyes focused on his partner for a moment... this was the part he had been dreading, how did you explain something that just magically happened, especially when there were mares around who couldn't even have children... let alone two stallions. With a gulp he decided to put his trust in Chandra, the mare had always seemed caring enough to him. "They are.... ours..." His blush refused to leave his cheeks even as he continued, "...We.... eh.... made a wish."
Chandra looked between the two, her smile fading a little with confusion. She didn't really understand why they were having trouble explaining. Until Crown's words sunk in. Theirs? They made a wish? Did that mean... nah... they couldn't have taken the baskets... she was pretty sure the mother would have protested by now, plus she couldn't see either of the stallions being the kind to do such a thing. Trying to understand she looked between the pair and back again before allowing her eyes to settle on the baskets. "What do you mean.... you made a wish?"
Kyran groaned and let his head go thump on the ground. "He means I made a wish... it was silly, and seemed harmless and for once I was indulging a flight of whimsy.... There was this Rainbow... it stained the sky, strong and definate, not fading right away like most do. The longer it lingered the more I felt it was special. So I made a wish on it.... really silly.... I wished that Crown could have his hearts desire, whatever it was that would make him happy.... Next day when we woke up... hello baskets from no where... and yeah I know you think I'm insane but thats ok.... I'm wondering if I am too..." All of this spilling out in a rush, not pausing at all in his need to get it out before he tohught better of it. Head still on the grass, not lookign at either of them.

Crown frowned a little at the way Kyran's head slumped to the ground. Lowering his head towards him he nipped at some of the fluff on the guys head, trying to remind him that they were in this together..... "It's as he said. I was dreaming about.... eh... well, a family that belonged to me and Kyran... I never saw the rainbow but I have absolute faith that there was one..." He chuckled a little as he remembered Kyran telling him this story earlier in the week, "..I believe he tried to wake me up to see it too, but you know me, I sleep like the living dead." The rainbow and the wish were the very things they remembered in naming their children, a constant reminder that the world was filled with magic, and magic was something you just had to dare to reach for... and wish for. It was a pure hearted and selfless wish that Kyran had made, and since the guy had wished for what Crown wanted most, Crown often worried that Kyran would have wished for something different had he gained his hearts desire....
Chandra stared in disbelief for a moment before laughing. Of all people she had evidence of things not quite as you would expect... her father was an elder after all, had told them of dreams with a god named Alignak.... so rainbows and wishes... she was willing to accept it was possible. "So basically, Kyran made a harmless wish and suddenly you both woke up with more than you could handle?" Babies weren't easy after all, not that it stopped her from wanting more, quite the opposite actually, she wanted more....
With a shake of her head she looked down at the baskets. "You better look after them really well!" She was only half joking, having little doubt that the pair would do just that... after all they had worried and sought help, something that not everyone would. In truth... she didn't think it could have happened to a nicer couple. "Do you have names yet? Or are you waiting until they open?" The excitment was clear in her voice.
Kyran lifted his head and smiled at Crown. "Its ok, I just know how insane it all sounds..." Looking at the baskets, indicating the one with the yellow bit of ribbon. " We decided to call this one Wish, that one is Rainbow. Theres only the one tiny difference so its hard to tell, will be crazy if they are both the same gender."

Crown nodded at Kyran and then looked down at the baskets too. "We can handle it." He said with a soft determination, there was no other choice that he could see, he wasn't about to abandon them or Kyran... not when a God had seen fit to grant them two baskets in the first place. He was duty bound to protect them, and protect them he would. "I'm a little worried about two guys bringing up girls though...." He admitted softly. "...and...eh... do twins need anything different? Like, is there anything we should know?" It probably sounded like a strange question but he really did want to be as prepared as he could be.
Chandra beamed at the names, "Wish and Rainbow? What beautiful names!" She chirped, "It seems as if they will suit them." At Crown's concern she couldn't help but think of Sonnet, "I guess you know how Sonnet feels, surrounded with all his girlies... huh?" In many ways she hadn't thought of it like that before, the fact was they had girls, and she had always just dealt with that. She wouldn't change or swap any of her girls for anything! They were her heart beat, just like her mate was, each making her stronger and stronger. "Twins...." She thought about it, "...I don't think there is anything special you need to know, but I have heard they like to be together, like two halves of an apple, they need each other... but, I haven't experienced twins before so I am not completely sure." She admitted softly.
Kyran smiled to himself and looked at Crown, giving a nod, he would always be there for the baskets and for Crown. "I found something out that might give some weight to that..." Giving Crown a small wink he shifted and very gently moved Wish's basket away from the other one. Not harming it or doing anything to disturb it, but it seemed to know it was away from its twin and gave a small peep when it was about a leg length away. Kyran gave them a reassuring look. "Just watch, its ok.."

Crown watched as Kyran moved the baskets, he had to admit he was curious to see what happened... if anything too... after all, he had never seen twins before either. Though part of him rather liked the fact that they were connected, that they would always have each other, so much better than being alone or an only child. He had always been thankful to have Eden and Paris.
Rainbow wiggled, suddenly feeling a little cold. He was pretty used to the added heat of his twin just outside of his own basket. It was exhausting work but he managed to wiggle a little towards her.
Chandra smiled as she watched one basket move, peek and then the other wiggle part of the way towards the other. It seemed she was right in her assumption that they wanted to be together, and Chandra found something very magical and special in that. She giggled a little as she watched, "How cute...." She was pretty sure that the other basket, the one that had been moved would close the gap to rejoin their twin.
Wish gave another peepe and wiggled in fits and starts to snuggle against her brother, settling down again soon as the baskets were pressed together very much like they were snuggled together.
Kyran spread his wing over them again to help warm them again. "If you put something between them they cant get over like yourself they make quite a fuss, especially Rainbow, she/he didn't like his/her brother/sister being out of sight at all even if your trying to keep them warm." Shrugging not sure what else to say.

Chandra chuckled at that, "I bet Rainbow is a boy." She teased, "Stubborn and likes things his way." She smiled still, content that the baskets were fine. "Since they are moving like that at all, especially so early, means they are fine.... I honestly think you are both going to have your hooves full when they arrive." She grinned, already trying to imagine what a magical wish baby, or rather twins, would even look like. "Are you worried about anything else?" She prompted softly.
Crown smiled at his mate as the guy lowered himself to the floor to snuggle over the baskets. Memories of them trying to site with a basket under each wing and 'Rainbows' reaction making him chuckle. Perhaps it was silly to worry when they had seen bursts of movement like that and this.... but it didn't stop Crown, and he was pretty sure he would be in a state of constant worry for a while... at least until they were big enough... well, unless they were girls, then he was probably going to be in a constant state of worry for the rest of his life.
Rainbow stopped and snuggled softly with his sister. Content now they were together again.
Kyran ssettled, resting his head down again as the baskets settled under his wing. "Food... we had been giving them soft fruit or mushed fruit as nothing else was available really.." Sounding a little worried, after all didn't young foals need milk usually?

Chandra thought about it for a moment, "You're doing the right thing. I have heard of lots of adopted baskets surviving, no thriving, on such things, and it's clear they obviously have energy if they are wiggling and moving... so just keep it up. You might want to find some special leaves for when they pop, give them a booast of vitamins that would usually be in the milk? I can find them for you if you want? Bring them back with me when I come to check on you all?" She chirped brightly and confidently.
Crown nodded softly, "Ok... and please, that would be appreciated." Feeling much calmer now he felt as if he could sit next to Kyran and the baskets without wiggling so much he irrated them all. "Thank you Chandra." he would wait until the older mare left before he settled next to his mate.... feeling as if it was a 'private' moment.
Kyran nodded and smiled at Chandra. "Thank you, its good to know that we didn't totally mess up, I'll admit I've never had anythign to do with baskets before." Looking over at Crown who seemed a little calmer. "We just kind of muddled through what we could remember from beign small and what little we knew about foals and went from there." Looking back to Chandra. "Anything you can think of that will give them what they need to grow up strong and healthy will be appreciated greatly, thank you." Unaware of it thi time but turning on the charm with Chandra, it a subconcious thing that came with his asking for help.

Chandra blinked a little in surprise but found herself giggling a little at the open flirt, at least that was how she saw it. Beyond Sonnet and Alistair she had never really been flirted with, and since mating Sonnet no one had dared try... not that she had wanted them too. Still, right then she found herself blushing a little. She really wasn't used to others doing it. "Eh... well, no problem." She chirped.
Crown he watched the exchange and found himself frowning a little, he had always known Kyran was a flirt... the guy had admitted he had a habit of doing just that, but he had never seen it, not even a little before. Jealousy washed over him.... jealousy and possessiveness. To stop himself acting on either he looked away from the pair.
Kyran looked from the blushing mare to Crown who now wasn't even looking at them, his expression goting totally confused. "Did I say something wrong?" His question soft as he goes over what he said in his head a few times.

Chandra shook her head, "Oh no." She didn't really see Kyran's charm as a bad thing, though as she looked at Crown it was obvious he didn't see it that way. Not wanting to get in the way or make things worst she bowed a little to the pair. "I'll head back, I'll come and check on the baskets again soon... and bring that stuff...." She was going to say more, wanted to say more but reading the vibe on the air she felt it would be best to hold off. For now at least. "Congrats again... bye." With that she took off.
Crown nodded to Chandra, mumbling a "thanks" before she left, even as he found himself feeling silly at his own reaction. Especially at the quietly spoken question, turning he looked at the guy. Sure enough his eyes were upon him, and it was clear from his expression that he had no idea what he had done... it was as natural as breathing to Kyran, it had part of the reason Crown had wondered if Kyran was actually in to him or just being nice when they first met. That charm and flirtation was something Crown was certainly lacking. With a sigh he shook his head, "No, you didn't do anything wrong."
Kyran stands and tucks a blanket that he had... liberated... from a human village around the baskets, moving over to crown. "Something upset you, what was it?" Nuzzling Crown softly, unaware he had flirted, thne again he was used to being that way with others. Crown had just never seen him speak to anyone else before other than Heze when she was still a foal.

Crown watched him cover the baskets in a blanket before approaching. His heart did that strange little skip thing within his chest that it usually did whenever Kyran turned his attention on him. "It's nothing...." He said, feeling silly for making a big deal out of it, it wasn't as if Chandra would have accepted had it been more than casual flirting anyways, and it wasn't as if he believed Kyran would have offered more either... it was just... well... he couldn't explain, but he wanted to monopolise Kyran's reactions to only him. Silly, huh? "...I...eh... wasn't really comfortable with your flirting." He admitted, gritting his teeth slightly afterwards and blushing.
Kyran blinked, slightly mortified. "I flirted with Chandra.... I... I didn't mean... I... oh god...." Looking faintly ill, it not clear if it was fear of Sonnet once Chandra told him or that he had been caught flirting period. Swallowing, his voice a little husky. "I didn't realise I did that.... I'm sorry Crown."

Kyran's reaction confirmed what Crown had already thought, the guy did it without thinking. It was just like breathing for him. With a sigh he tried to let it all go, moving forward and burying his nose in the guys fluff. "Yeah you did... but it's ok... you don't need to be sorry. I always knew you were a flirt.... I... eh... was just a little shocked." Not that he thought seeing more flirting would help in the slightest, if anything he was likely to get more and more jealous the more he saw.
Kyran sighed and snuggled close to Crown, pulling him into a tight and posessive hug, he would have to keep an eye on himself, he didn't want to loose Crown because he was used to flirting, besides he had to set a better example for their children.
