Zuri nodded. "Thanks to you I'm perfect. A little shaken up, and I will be much more careful from now on, but perfectly safe." She said happily. Although she should have been listening to him when he told her to stay low down on the branches she was to focused on the fact that he was changing colors! Sure she had seen the others change colors, but never as it happened. She typically saw them before or after the sun set or rose, never during. It was amazing, and for the first time she felt a pang of jealousy. Why couldn't the changing skin be something she inherited from her mother? Then again it was a good thing, she had a feeling her people back at the Ice Tribe would have more of an issue with her if she changed colors.

She didn't snap back into reality until he said that they missed it, and then she looked around. "Oh I'm sorry, it seems we have." She said a little sadly. It was her fault that they hadn't been able to see the sunset. Though when he offered to go see it tomorrow she smiled once again. Both the thought of spending more time with him and the thought of seeing the sunset made her happy. She chuckled. "Yes, I think walking on the ground might be better for now." Almost dying once was more then enough times for Zuri.

When he said look she turned to see the Illo, and just as she felt the tug and realized just what had happen. Instantly she started blushing, and as he tired to untangle himself she wasn't sure to help or try to calm him down or die of embarrassment herself. How hadn't she realized that his hand was tangled there before! "It's okay, it's okay!" she said trying to calm him down since his struggling was only making the whole thing worse. "Let me do it." she said grabbing his hand and untangling it slowly. Oh was a fool she had made out of herself in only a matter of hours. She was as red as him, if not more.

He was a second or two too long in looking away, flushing even deeper for it. He had never seen... He shouldn't have seen... It was rude of him to...

He now looked pointedly at something in a completely different direction, fidgeting to an extent that was almost dangerous on the tree branch. He managed to overcome the sudden awkwardness and look down at the Illo again.
"I-I'm sorry..." he said, cradling his hand close so it wouldn't get TANGLED IN ANYTHING ELSE, "I-I didn't mean to... That..."

He found himself thinking about how... beautiful she looked in the blue time that heralded the night, and how the motes of illo light had shone up on her and her dark toned crystals and... and... No! It was rude to think about that... He chanced a glance at her. She was covered. He wasn't sure if he was relieved or dissappointed.

"Um..." he began again. His throat was dry. He couldn't meet her eyes yet, not without- he thought- exploding with embarassment, and he quickly looked away. "Y-you... your sure y-you're okay?" he said, biting his lip.

She nodded, not able to look at him yet and looking instead at the many Illo around them. Although she was sure he had seen more then he should have, she really wasn't sure. Oh what would he father have said about this. When he started to speak she dared to look at him, her skin slowly but surely turning back to its natural color. "I know Biroki. I'm not mad at you. If anything it was my fault for trying to show off and almost get myself killed." she said with a small laugh.

It was so easy being with him, and even though they had had more then their share of embarrassing moments since their meeting she still felt at peace. It was a nice feeling. Until their most recent accident she was starting to feel as if he was more comfortable around her as well. "Yes I'm fine. How about you? I know I'm not the lightest thing and you did pull me up. How is your arm?" she said with a smile. She was going to offer to look at it but she was scared the physical contact would be to much considering what just happened.

"I'm... I'm glad you didn't..." said Biroki, smiling a bit as he watched the Illo. He mustered his courage again, and looked back at her, trying to at least look at her face.
It struck him again that she was very pretty...
And he blinked.
His arm? she was worried about his arm? he flexed it. It... felt fine... but living with Reshel meant he knew that just because it felt fine now didn't mean it was fine and he would be feeling that later...
"Oh, ah... You weren't... that h-heavy..." he lied, holding out his arm, his cheeks a bit rosey now. But being checked for injury was now far less of an issue than before. The contrast.
"Could you... make sure... t-that theres no b-bruises? Or... or anything?" he said, fidgeting slightly. It felt better to just... pretend he hadn't accidentally... yeah.

She smiled as well. "Yes, I don't think death would have been as nice as a way to end the night as this is." she said with a chuckle.

When he started to flex him arm she watched him, trying to see if he looked to be in pain. She knew that just because people said they were fine didn't mean they were fine. Sometimes they just said it to make the other person feel better. When he said she wasn't that heavy she smiled. It was true that she wasn't the heaviest person, but she wasn't the lightest. Plus it wasn't like he was use to pulling people up with one arm.

When he asked if she could make sure she smiled and took his arm, examining it to the best of her ability. "It looks fine to me, but I'm no healer." she said before looking back up at him his face a lot closer then she originally thought.

She was really, really close. His breath caught as their eyes met, and he was completely arrested. He could see that she had been telling the truth when she had told him that her eyes did shift color. His had shifted to lighter colors, and he could see that hers had as well... They were very deep, filled with experiences, and bright like the stars above them. He could see, for a moment, that she was a long way from home, and had travelled so far. He bet, for that moment, that she had been a different person back in the cold lands she came from, different from the beautiful girl that was sitting next to him on the branch. The thoughts were swept away as his heart beat a few beats more rapidly, ...then he blinked, breaking the spell.
"R-right..." he said, looking down... and a bit to the side... and blushing, "We... we should head back h-home. Y-yes... we sh-should... and have R-reshel examine us..." he stammered.
But he found he didn't want to move. His legs just wouldn't obey.

It was if the whole world had stopped moving around them. They weren't in a tree. There wasn't Illo's flying around them. It was if everything had just stopped and it was just Zuri and Biroki. His eyes told a story that his mouth would never be able to. They told of loss, they told of love and pain and a childhood spent exploring. It was if his whole life was laid out in front of her and she was eager to learn all she could. It was amazing and awe inspiring. Part of her wanted to get closer, to see what else his eyes could tell her, but there was something that held her back.

When he finally spoke, breaking the spell for her, she looked away and nodded. "Yes, Reshel will know if anything is wrong." she said. "He doesn't need to see me, I'm fine. I should be getting home anyways." letting go of his arm Zuri went to leave but found herself compelled to stay. It was silly, even though she knew she would see Biroki again she didn't want to leave him. With a smiled she looked back at him and kissed him on the check. "Till we see each other again." she said blushing before climbing down as quickly as she could and rushing home to write to Kayin about the day she had.

Biroki was too stunned to move for a long while after she was gone. He could feel where she kissed him, it seemed to glow, much like the illo swarming around him. His face turned pale white, then steadily rosier and rosier as he felt an idiotic smile blossom on his face. The smile became a grin, a very silly grin. It was some time after she left that he was able to come back to his senses and make his own way home.
By ground this time, since going by branch was a recipe for disaster. He did skip a bit though. And whistle. He couldn't wait until the next time he saw her. He giggled a bit to himself, blushing and absurdly happy. He couldn't wait to tell Reshel... after his arm had been checked out, of course. Couldn't wait at all! With a yelp of laughter, he hurried on home...
