4. Library

Parting ways with his teammates a second time, Aprife found himself at the library doors, peering inside before even bothering to enter. There was a decent amount of activity to survey and that had him biting his lip. If he was lucky, no unrelated trolls would prove distracting. There was no denying that he liked to snoop on anyone and everyone, liked to check out all the new and interesting things, so he'd have to try a little harder than usual to keep his mind off the temptations of general observation.

Slipping inside, he ducked behind a nearby bookshelf, weaving deeper into the building through the jungle of limited knowledge. He was in search of learning of a slightly different kind. Eyes were peeled for anyone who looked even a little suspicious. It was characters like that who always had the best information. Wasn't it?

4. Library

Mofein had no clue where to start, but his only lead at the moment suggested to visit the library. The thought made him from. The library? But a library was quiet and he couldn’t do art in a library. He could only read dull books, but it was the only reasonable place to go to at the moment. Sighing heavily, he breezed through the entrance, his tiny boots clacking against the ground. As he thought, the building was bustling with a fair amount of activity. Not that the noise cheered the troll up much.

Hands in his pockets, he walked around and waved his way through the shelves before he chose to seat himself beneath a window and watch the other trolls with mild interest.

2. Park

After exchanging information with her teammates and spending a few minutes walking down the bustling streets of NHC together, Byakko parted ways with the boys and headed off for the park. She had never gotten the chance to veiw any tourist attractions in the big city- the mutant was still quite new to this wandering around freely thing. Admittedly it interested her quite a bit and she had jumped a little too earnestly at the chance to visit New Hemisect Park, regardless of if she thought it would be helpful of not...

3. Music Hall

Odette had not attended a music hall in ages. It held a special place in her heart. Odette attended often with her lusus back when they were more... successful. Now, Odette just didn't have the funds to go. But Vremea offered to pay for her on the account of doing some serious spying, so who was Odette to object? The only difficulty would be to pay attention to the people around her, and to not get so enraptured by the music. It would be difficult, but she'd do it for Vremea and the sake of the mission!

Library

Belife and his lusus plowed through the streets of NHC. It wasn't simply the joy of going fast, Vanille wanted the nightmare of re-raising a troll to end! They flew down to the library where Vanille had to wait outside. Belife had been yelled at before for letting such a creature inside. What's more, his horns kept knocking down books. He didn't mean to, he was just too wide.

Belife climbed off of his lusus and went inside. "YELOW BOWWWWWWWWWWS" he shouted, ignoring the quiet rule. She worked here, afterall. Maybe she knew something!

When he didn't get a reply, he started sniffing around the book cart of recent returns. Maybe there was a clue into who read what last.

Oohhhh. Someone just returned 50 shades of Mr Darcy. How exciting!

1. Diner

The reporter had told him to go to a place that would just end up being total snoozeville, so LaRoce decided to ignore her advice and find something else to do. He realized he was hungry, so he headed for the nearby diner for some generic ground meat patties and steak fries. Or, he would have done that, but the Hogfather had rules prohibiting questionable unsourced meat, and was also too big to fit in the door. LaRoce ended up grabbing a bag of deep-fried somethings to-go, and lounged at a table outside the diner, watching the comings and goings of trolls on the street.

The Library(duuuuuuhhhhhh)

After being shooed away by the Accountant, Vremea puffed her cheeks, huffing a bit. Well he didn't need to be all prissy about it! She was just looking for clues! She met up with Odette soon after and began to consider her other options. Maybe he had been in a popular place? "Well, I'm all for him maybe being in Library... but I think I would've noticed if a troll would've checked out a suspicious book or acted in a suspicious way..." She frowned— maybe it wasn't during her shift? It could have been in earlier in the night when she was working in Chittentown... Either way, right now was her shift. The worker who would work in the morning would be working now, and it'd be best if she asked them now rather than later...

Ugh. She needed to sort out her thoughts properly. Most suspicious trolls wouldn't go to a library deep in the night, as there would be more trolls, while in the early night, there'd be less trolls. But maybe they looked like a normal troll? Either way, Vremea needed to go visit the Library. She had to do her daily inspection of all the books, after all!

The Library!

Well, so much for that. Sarcel really didn’t have a whole lot to go on, but she thought the library would be a good place to start nevertheless. A small, somewhat immature part of her reasoned that even if she didn't find anything worthwhile here, she could at least pick up a few books! Well… she knew that wasn’t really the right train of thought for this, so she pushed the notion aside. Still, between all the choices, this seemed to be one of the more logical.

Not too long ago, Sir and herself has a small rendezvous where the pair decided to split up again, Sarcel (Pathetic) was to see to the book emporium while Sir was to check out the local restaurant. Silently peddling on, she felt a little guilty for her earlier childish thoughts. Really though, Sarcel hoped she could find something here—anything! Sure, she had dealt with the dealer, but she needed to find something better here rather than a simple testimony; she needed some sort of big clue to find out who the real culprit was, because she needed to prove she was useful and worthwhile too!

Although, she silently hoped Sir would come across something bigger—bigger than whatever she could find. It wouldn’t do her very much good if Sir got any further frustrated with the situation, so while a break on either end would be wonderful, it always did seem to do the duo better whenever Sempur came out more victorious. She'd let him have these victories, no matter how silly. Perhaps it wasn't happiness, but it seemed to do her commanding officer some good to be useful to his nation.

New found resolve in tow, the blueblood starts off with a brisk pace to the library—no, not even brisk! There’s no time to lollygag and jog, besides, it wasn’t like her to simply jog, no, Sarcel Cincil sprints, feeling the wind in her short messy hair, feeling somewhat empowered. She had a mission here, and she couldn't let Alternia down, couldn't let Sir down! She had to find something conclusive here, something important, even if it was only a tiny bit significant. Even the smallest things can make or break a situation!

She'd find something, for both her own recognition, and for Sir's sake too!

1. Diner

Progress was being made, albeit not nearly as quickly as Sempur would have liked. He knew others were on the case, and although he had no fear of the competition, no doubt that he and Pathetic (but mostly him) would blow this case wide open, it occurred to him that a certain she might also be on the trail. It was a brief thought, one he discarded quickly because he wouldn't allow himself to think about that greenblood and why would she have come up in the first place? But, infuriatingly enough, it remained in the back of his mind.

No matter. Were she involved, and he wouldn't doubt it because that infuriating lowblood seemed to be everywhere he went, it would just be another opportunity to show her up and prove his superiority. Yes, it wasn't the bounty Sempur was after—perhaps he could allow Sarcel to keep the reward, see that she got some acceptable equipment for herself, or maybe donate it to some of the more respectable businesses of Alternia, although it couldn't hurt to see about a new uniform for himself, with plenty of shiny new buttons—no! Nevermind the reward, Sempur was in this to serve, to help his fellow trolls and become known for his efforts and impeccable genius in finding the culprit responsible for such a blight upon society. Sempur was nothing if not an altruist at heart(?).

Of course, you wouldn't know of his supposed respect for his fellow man with the way Sempur looked around in the restaurant, disdain etched much too strongly in such a young face as he observed the patrons. To hell with these luxuries, Sempur much rather preferred the simple refinement of a meal-ready-eat, just like a real soldier! They were spoiling themselves with decadence. No surprise their mark might be lurking around here.

1. The Diner

Zeffer had scooted off with Aprife after their second meeting betwixt their team, ever so glad for the fact that they would be staying inside the city, for now. He stuck with the yellowblood until they'd arrived at their next agreed destinations, two hotspots that seemed like a natural place to try and dig up some clues. Who knew how successful it would be, though, with the massive reward, other people might not be too willing to give away any information.

So Zeffer figured he'd try a little stealth this time around. As stealthy as he could manage, anyway. He split with Aprife as they reached the library and went across to the diner, planning to listen in and not be too horribly obnoxious (for once) in his quest for knowledge.

2. Park

It was strange to be cooperating with someone so young, but Alifax thought Amicae was smart. He'd acceded quickly when Amicae had mentioned checking the library: Alifax had felt uncomfortable in the Four Fronds library, and though New Hemisect City was not so...high-blooded a locale, he also associated it with the Empire and Her Imperious Condescension. He liked the idea of having his more highblooded friend check out the area instead.

And while he did that, Alifax could go to the park. Despite the crowd that was likely to be present in the aftermidnight, Alifax thought it'd be a nice place to be - attractive, certainly, and with...air. And Alifax could potentially disappear into the crowd, even if it was pro-Empire. So was he, he reminded himself. In fact, he was an upstanding member of the Alternian military, with the medals to prove it. Besides, no one would disdain him for his powers, when he, ah, couldn't use them at the moment. He was just another young redblood in the crowd, albeit one without the company of a lusus.

And he could look around, and see if there was anyone who looked like he or she might know something. A troll from the plethora of caretakers who seemed to almost constantly be working on beautifying the park, perhaps? Alifax certainly wanted to contribute to their search, and he didn't want to be resting as Amicae conducted research. There had to be someone who'd seen the troll!

And maybe he could get some training done or something while he was waiting, too...

the DINER

Elidae was becoming quite hungry after visiting the lowblooded deliverytroll, a trip which was both helpful, yet vaguely... not. She decided to hit a popular spot in New Hemisect, one she was quite familiar with and enjoyed immensely. The diner usually held a friendly atmosphere, with fragrant fumes of delicious grub for trolls from all parts of the Hemospectrum. Elidae enjoyed visiting this diner with her lusus every once in a while, partially for the food, but mostly because she loved to be around other trolls and enjoyed observing (and a bit of eavesdropping). Socializing was definitely one of this young yellowblood's favourite passtimes! So perhaps she could grab a bite to eat while she continued her hunt? Multitasking!

1.) The Diner

Nothing but business, Pyre continued her crusade through the city, following her lead and also her instincts. Mostly the latter because quite frankly the former barely existed. Nevertheless, she pressed on towards the most well-renowned diner she knew of, determined to press everyone in there for what they knew.
