His light. The affection in his tone she knew he was telling the truth. Honestly she didn't think he would stop loving her because of it she just...didn't want him to see. Didn't want him to feel any worse.

Mitsu wasn't sure how to respond about her throat. It didn't hurt so much as it didn't feel comfortable. It felt like her throat was tightening when she tried to swallow and her stomach was displeased with the presence of food. Slowly she shook her head her hand reaching for the meatball he had placed back in the container. She took another small bite to continue to force herself to eat. It was likely going to be a slow going meal but he wanted her to eat so she would try.

As he continued on Mitsu paused in trying to eat wishing Shun would go slower so she could respond with a shake of her head or a nod without him getting confused. She didn't think it was his fault, he hadn't been the one to dive head first into the Haunted House. Honestly...he had been against it and she should have known better. It was her own stupidity that landed her where she was and she had paid a heavy price but at least she had made it back.

In the end she simply nodded, the hand she still held in a tight fist coming to rest against one of his own. She had kept her hand closed all this time, her fingers tightly guarding the pendant he had give her. For now she was unwilling to put it down.

Shun watched Mitsu, reminding himself he needed to see her to try and understand how she was feeling and what she was trying to tell him. He paused for the moment as she took the food for herself, slowly eating. It was a very slow process, but she was still eating. It was a start. But, as her fist touched his hand, he looked down. Glancing from her hand to her face, he gently took it and turned it over.

He was trying to see if he could open her hand, though he wasn't going to try and pry it open if she really wanted to keep it closed. The Reaper just realized that this hand had been shut tight this entire time, as if she was clutching onto something.

Looking back up at her, his features softened as she nodded to him. There was some relief there. He had to try. For her sake. Just as he needed to be strong for her. He was struggling a bit though.

"I won't let you down.. I... I never gave up on you. When I found out you were still there.. I was preparing. Getting ready to infiltrate the island at whatever the cost.."

He had taken her hand and turned it over and at first her grip tightened not wanting to let loose on the item she held. Slowly her grip eased as he continued to work at her fingers and eventually he would see the pendant he had given her. It was no longer on a chain and the metal holding looked a little damaged but the stone was still in the same shape it had always been.

Mitsu stared at the item in her palm her process on her meatball slowing even further. She looked up when he said he hadn't given up, that he had been planning to go back for her. The thought was comforting and terrifying at the same time. While it was nice to know she hadn't been forgotten she would never have wanted Shun to enter that place. Not with the risk he could be captured and put through the things she had been put through or something worse.

She shivered at the idea wishing she had the ability to tell him not to go there ever again. To avoid the Hunters when he could. She didn't like them but she didn't want to risk getting taken or anyone else being taken for that matter.

Mitsu knew she was going to have to find a way to bridge this communication barrier. Writing things down wasn't an option but maybe she could use pictures to get her thoughts across? She wasn't the best artist but maybe Shun would catch on? There was also sign language but she would have to learn that herself before she could hope to use it. Sighing she realized how hard this was going to be.

At first, Shun glanced up towards Mitsu as he felt her hand tighten. But then, he looked back down to see her slowly reveal the pendant he had given her. It looked like the chain had been broken off. But.. he was kind of surprised that she still had this despite being on that wretched island. Carefully, he picked it up to look it over.

"I'll get a new chain for this. Fix it back up," he whispered before placing it back into her hand, "It will be better again... just like you will heal."

The lack of a voice did concern him though. What if that was permanent damage? Would he never be able to hear her voice again? His heart fell a little at that thought.

"But they will pay for this.. especially Candace,' he murmured more darkly. Shaking his head, he let out a heavy sigh before looking towards her closet. Oh right. There were some things that the fake had bought. He was going to have to throw those out. Grimacing, he got up and made his way over to start doing that. It wasn't hard to figure out what was new.

As he lifted the pendant from her hand Mitsu took in a deep breath, staring at the item with fixation. She just had to tell herself not to panic. Shun had been the one to give her the pendant after all. It was still a relief when he placed it back in her hand, the breath that she had been holding let out slowly in what would have no doubt been a sigh if her voice had been working.

Her fingers curled back around the pendant in a gentlier grip this time, wondering if she could so easily be fixed. Holding the item close her thoughts continued to wander, some of the things Atropos said coming to mind. Candace hadn't wanted it to turn out this way. That's what the ghoul had said. That she had planned on releasing her. Was that true though? Not that it completely mattered, Candace had been too late if that's what she had planned...but still. Mitsu couldn't help but think about it.

She also couldn't help her attention snapping back around when Shun mentioned revenge. There was a depth of fear in her eyes as she shook her head the meatball in her hand dropping back into the container as she reached out to grab his arm but came up short. It seemed he was on a mission toward her closet and she had no idea why.

She quickly tried to follow, her legs tangled in the sheets. He needed to know that he had to stay away! He couldn't be near them! Mitsu couldn't risk the same thing happening to him as well.

In her haste to get to him so that he would understand Mitsu tripped over the sheets wrapped around her legs sending her to the floor. She landed with a hard thud, the wind completely knocked from her lungs.

Shun missed the fact that Mitsu was trying to stop him as he turned away, standing in front of the closet. He went ahead and grabbed the most colorful things as they sort of stood out among the fairly monochromatic wardrobe she typically had. He also grabbed the high heels. Staring at some of these, he felt a surge of anger. That ******** whore...

Dropping the shoes for now, he let out a hiss as he summoned his daggers before slashing into the colorful fabric. If only Candace was actually in such things. His destructive mission soon came to a halt as he heard a rustle behind him, followed up with a loud thud. Turning around, he looked alarmed as he saw his lycan in a crumpled heap on the floor. It looked like she had been tangled up in her sheets and tripped as a result.

Dismissing his daggers and throwing the torn clothes to the ground, he quickly moved over to see if she was alright. It sounded like she was having trouble breathing.

"Mitsu.. are you alright.." he asked, looking rather worried. Did she hurt herself? He gently tried to sit her up, cradling her in his arms.

She struggled in the blankets for a moment until she finally caught her breath. By then Shun was already gathering her up in his arms. Her only response to his question was to wrap her arms around him, holding him tightly. How was she supposed to tell him not to go? To tell him to stay where it was safe because she didn't want to risk losing him.

Mitsu held him tighter, tears gathering in her distress. Please, please don't go. She mentally begged wishing her words could break through. I need you.

When she suddenly wrapped her arms around him, Shun furrowed his brow. Further more, he could see her eyes watering up, but he didn't know what it was that was wrong.

"Mitsu.. shh... it's alright. You don't need to cry. I have you... Does.. does it hurt somewhere?" he whispered, gently nuzzling the side of her head as she held him tighter. He didn't know what she was trying to tell him.

Physically no, nothing hurt like it did. There was lingering aches and pain but nothing came close to the feeling of her heart clenching in her chest. She was afraid for him, afraid to lose him. Just thinking about him being locked away, drained of fear, only to be tortured in the end. It made her hold him tighter, her lips continuing to move to the same phrase over and over again hoping he would understand. 'Don't go. Don't go. Don't go.'

The longer she tried to get him to understand and break through the more distressed she became. Her breathing became erratic, pulling back just enough to take his face in her hands and mouth out the words 'Stay with me' as slowly as she could hoping he could lip read. Please understand.

Shun was confused, trying to understand. And it was distressing on his end too as she was getting more and more frantic. Thankfully, he could read lips, and was able to make out what she was trying to say. However, he didn't quite get the meaning behind it.

"Mitsu.. I'm not leaving you. I won't be leaving you anytime soon... not unless you want nothing to do with me..." he whispered. He didn't get what had caused this sudden fear. Reaching up, he gently caressed her face, trying to get her to calm down.

"I was just.. trying to get rid of some things that don't belong to you. I was going to come right back.."

Once again her lack of voice was playing against her and there was no way for her to explain until she had someone else to help. The things she wanted to tell him couldn't be easily expressed through pictures. For now the best she could hope for would be to get him to stay with her. If he didn't want to leave her on her own there was no risk he would run off to seek revenge....right?

Just the thought of him being captured, her mind instantly went to the labs. Everything that was done to her she could so easily picture being done to him and it sent her into a fit of tears, crumbling in his grasp as she sobbed. He wouldn't understand the meaning behind her tears but she didn't know if she could tell him even if she could.

This was kind of frustrating. Despite his attempt to reassure her, it seemed she was only getting worse. In fact, she began to sob right in his arms.

"No.. no... Mitsu please..." he urged while holding her close. Shun wished he knew what was wrong. Why did she begin to start crying despite him telling her that he wasn't going to leave her?

"Do you really think I would abandon you...? Is that it..?"

There was a sort of disappointing feeling at that thought. If that was the issue here... just what did she think of him exactly?

The fact that he kept making guesses in the completely wrong direction only upset her more. Shaking her head Mitsu tried to reign back her tears but to no avail hiding her face in his chest. It was hard to say what she thought though, her mind was so plagued with thoughts from her many weeks of isolation. The things she had seen...the things she had imagined she saw. As tired as she was she had started to hallucinate in the end and often saw things that weren't true. She had started to question everything, even her purpose for resisting.

As a sense of shame hit her, Mitsu began to curl up trying to make herself into a small ball. If anything was apparent her mental state just wasn't entirely there.

Shun could feel her tears on his chest and he just let out a sigh. She was still getting worse. He didn't understand why. He wanted to know why. He wanted to help her. But once again... he was apparently useless.

"Please... stop crying.. why are you crying? I'm here..." he whispered, sounding more desperate. He held her close, feeling her begin to curl up into a ball.

"Mitsu. No. Please... I love you... I'm not leaving you... I won't abandon you... I just.. I don't understand what's wrong. Please calm down..."

Why was he so worthless in helping her?

Mitsu stayed that way for a while, crying long after she forgot the reason behind her tears. She wanted to stop, she wanted to do as he asked but she couldn't bring herself to comply. The tears kept coming until eventually she was cried out and her trembling eased. She relaxed in her position but stayed where she was feeling exhausted and sore.

When she finally mustered enough strength to move she looked at Shun apologetically before looking away. She was only making it harder on him but she wasn't sure what to do and she couldn't think clearly long enough without digging up something that upset her. The best she could do for the time was mouth the word 'broken', it was the best way she had to describe her state of mind. It was through no fault of his own that she couldn't hold herself together and there was no way for her to go into a lengthy discussion on what was wrong.

For now she rested by him on the floor, muttering her silent apologies, reaching for the sheet she had dropped so that she could cover herself again. She didn't like to see the scars on her arms and didn't even know what the rest of her looked like. For now she didn't want to know.
