Z'fer and Bronze Calanoth : Burn Post
~ So far So good...Left mine! ~ Calanoth dodged quickly, turning his head as he did so and flaming over his shoulder. Z'fer leaned far out of the way, feeling the heat of dragonflame too close. Calanoth was good though, while it got hot, Calanoth just avoided catching Z'fer in his fire.
His hair might curl at the temple...but that would be the worst of it.

Flying in tight formation Cheryth flamed more thread from the sky, so far no one that she had seen had been grievously injured..but there was still shimmering strands falling front of them and as long as that was happening Ca'mil knew that such things could change in an instant. Thread was horrible like that. 'Do not fret mine, we are well trained' Cheryth reprimanded her rider bringing her thoughts back to the battle. 'I know, Cheryth, thank you' Ca'mil responded. 'Watch your shoulder!' She warned and the crimson obidiently rolled to avoid the thread clump before arching her neck to blast it with flame, hot ash flicking back to make Ca'mil cough 'Sorry'..'Nevermind, better ash then thread!'

Plexith flamed at the thread before him, charring the wretched strands to ash. I was a satisfying sight for both him and his rider to see the strands burn. 'Hows the wing?' D'lin asked as they flew. 'A few minor injuries but all are still flying' Plexith responded.
A flash of green to his side caught his attention - Halith..being over eager as normal. 'Remind them all to stay in formation' D'lin remarked and rumbling Plexith commanded the rest of the wing to do so. For a few more moments nothing terrible happened, it was almost peaceful, thread burned, flames jetted and no one shrieked in pain...and then from nowhere the wind picked up, throwing the silvery strands into a tangled mess and driving one directly towards D'lin's face. Plexith bellowed in alarm, rolling sideways even as he blinked between.

And returned. D'lin had thought for a brief moment as that silvery clump drifted towards him that he was done for. That was happening a bit to much lately for his liking. 'Plexith!' He called out, worried for the bronze whose connection to him was now tinged in pain. 'We will continue flying' Plexith responded grimly voice edged with pain and eyes tinged with grey. It was a bad score running deeply along his side...but better his side then his rider's face.
'Alright Plexith..Alright" D'lin agreed, they still had a job to do and unless he was truly physically unable to continue D'lin knew that Plexith would never agree to stopping...and as a Wingleader, D'lin knew that they couldn't afford to - they would just have to look past the injury. The sooner the thread was gone, the sooner they could get it seen to.

Eliza and Velath were in the back ranks of their wing, to far away to see the action up a head of them, and too engrossed in their own duties to notice most likely even if they had been. So far..they had managed to get off fairly lucky in this fight and Velath was flaming beautifully.

I am an excellent Threadfighter! I am paying attention! Halith claimed, even as she absently seared a few Thread from the sky.
Halith. Enough. You're a very capable dragon, but now is not the time for this. Focus.
Halith felt something hit her neck and popped between before either she or Cetalese had time to register how bad the damage was.
Oh, Halith... Cetalese thought as they floated in the dark. If she had to get firm with her to prevent another injury like this, she was going to get firm with her.

They reappeared from between, Halith opening her mouth to flame Thread immediately so that another injury would not occur the moment they reappeared.
Halith?
I feel nothing now, mine. Better, even. It could not have been Thread.
Cetalese inhaled and then exhaled a sigh of relief and brushed some ash from her clothes. The adrenaline must have kicked in for Halith in overtime if she felt "better," but it was good to know her Green hadn't been Scored-- yet.

A pair has gone back to Benden.
Have the dragons shift slightly wider to fill the hole, we don't have the numbers to have backup waiting to replace fallen members or Blues and Greens who can't last through the Fall.
What will we do when Greens and Blues start to tire? All Falls cannot be as brief as our first and they will not last if this is a long Fall.
Then we'll send one or two back at a time to rest and spread out the wings to fill the holes. Give them a brief time to rest their wings, and then switch them out for another two or three. It's the only way any of the wings will last a full Flight. We'll just have to let Wingleader Kleos know when the time comes. Perhaps the other wings can utilize the strategy as well.
I will bespeak Moriath when it becomes necessary to do something, but we have some time yet before that--

The wind had changed and as Tyeth turned to sear a large path of Thread from before them, the strands falling to their right had been redirected-- right at them. Thankfully, despite their running dialogue, N'mol and Tyeth were both paying sharp attention to their surroundings and it had not gone unnoticed.
Tyeth turned his head so the arc of flame spread toward it, but felt a sting on his bright hide from the strands he could not possibly have gotten.

N'mol and Bronze Tyeth

When Tyeth felt the burn of Thread along his flank and tail, he didn't wait to check it before going between. As they reappeared and he returned to alertness, mind-voice feeling to N'mol like gritted teeth, N'mol turned to brush some frozen strands free from the area he could reach.
As I was saying, I will bespeak Moriath when the time comes. I will survive this Scoring.
N'mol hadn't asked, but Tyeth could clearly feel his concern. N'mol shook his head faintly. It was better that they stay in for as long as possible, anyway, since his Wingsecond was still in the infirmary, recovering from grievous wounds sustained at Benden. And, after all, they were Wingleaders and would not pull out until they absolutely had to.

Z'fer and Bronze Calanoth: Burn Post
~ Tyeth is burned, Krith flies well. Calanoth relaxed his wings, allowing both dragon and rider to drop straight down and intercept a clump of thread.
Tyeth? He's not of our wing. Z'fer recognized the name but couldn't place it with everything else going on around him. He reached into the firestone sack and withdrew a couple large chunks, feeding them to the enormous smoking mouth beside him.
~ Benden's wingleader. The one who is larger than me. Ahhh, Z'fer grinned to himself. That was why Cal was paying attention. Z'fer craned his neck around, spying the large striped bronze. The distance prevented him from seeing where or how bad the scoring was but he knew Calanoth wouldn't lie.
~ Back to our duty big guy. You can compare scars later. ~

Z'fer and Bronze Calanoth : Damage
A bugle of alarm announced Calanoth's trip between. Frozen particles of thread trailed off his hide as they reappeared, the bronze's eyes whirling yellow and orange as he checked on his rider. ~ I'm fine Cal, you managed to save my pretty face. ~
Calanoth snorted, ~ Thanks Mine. I'm so glad YOUR hide is un scarred. ~ The small jest had alleviated his worry though and the bronze continued their path, checking the placement of the dragons behind him and peering though the thickening smoke to catch the next clump.

S’kor directed Scarath to a fairly large clump. He watched the dragon flame and the Thread burn. Spotting a strand coming toward them from the side, then went between to avoid it. Returning to their spot in the wing. He saw Plexith vanish in front of them and waited for the report.
Scarath flamed well. I will need more firestone soon Mine. A couple large pieces should suffice. Then more flame and a quick hop. He could feel his rider’s anxiety until the other bronze returned. Plexith is scored, but remains.

Optheli felt an intake of breath though her mask. Plexith had vanished. Was he ok? Then Dynith reported that it was a scoring and he would stay. She sighed. This could be so hard, yet no dragon would abandon it unless they absolutely had to.
The green’s eyes whirled yellow. It had to hurt. She couldn’t remember the last Fall very clearly. Dynith flamed at a clump. It burned and she looked around her. Several more were nearby but not close enough to flame. Then an updraft lifted her up slightly.

Calanoth is scored, he goes between.
That wasn't a good sign, but the bronze returned quickly enough and F'nell decided it must have just been minor. This was going to be a long fall.
The brown noticed a clump to his right, and turned his body slightly to flame it. He was flaming well. I need more firestone. He turned his head back, and F'nell fed him a couple more pieces. That is better.
