Tessa froze for a moment, as her mind warred over whether it would be good to encourage Alcion's leniency towards non-elves, or if it might be a ploy to lure out her feelings. If he were bluffing, admission of her belief in the rights of all rational creatures to be equals might sentence her to death. But if he were telling the truth, well that might be the door to her future.
"What makes you think this way, my Lord? You must know that some might consider your beliefs to be almost treasonous?"
Carefully she tread the line, never mentioning her own stance on the issue, instead asking him to clarify his own. Someone who did not truly believe such things would be hard pressed to express them without some indication of internal disgust.

The bard swallowed hard. The steadiness of his hands did not go unnoticed. She looked away for a long moment, gazing out at the pair of slaves tearing one another to shreds at the behest of their owners on the arena floor.
"How do you see me, then, Milord? I am not a bestial, but nor am I an elf. Where do I fall in your eyes, and in your esteem?"

Tessa's face relaxed with a flood of relief. "I am most grateful to be held in such high esteem, my Lord. It makes me feel reassured about my future in serving you."
She grimaced at mention of Alcion's father. "Indeed, Lord Alcion. Which reminds me that I should not be dallying here at the arena. I have a song to finish, and the muse does not wait for the mind's entertainment. If you would be so kind as to excuse me?"
She waited patiently for the elf to give her leave to depart.

"Go ahead." He smiled. "I will rejoin you soon, as soon as I finish this sketch... I would ratter not be there should something too violent happen." Alcion was not a fan of mindless violence, indeed.
However, right now, he saw more of an epic duel than a bloody massacre, and he seriously hoped it would remain so until he would leave, trough something at the back of his mind seriously doubted it.

Tessa bowed deeply once more. "By your leave, My Lord..." she intoned. She gathered her things and departed.
