Mitsu could barely control her shaking as Atropos pulled her into her lap. All she could do was focus on the warmth of her hold and pretend it was someone else. Pretend it was Shun with his arms around her telling her it was alright. Blocking out the reality was the hardest part but Mitsu did as Atropos told her and close her eyes.

She thought of Shun and how happy she would be to see him instead of worrying about how she might not even make it back. The lycan focused on his face and that subtle smile he often gave her, his strong arms wrapped around her, and the scent of his leather jacket. The dim twilight of Halloween filled in the picture behind him and the soft scent of autumn hit her. Home.

Her fingers curled slightly, shuddering a bit as she choked and coughed, crimson pouring from her mouth down her chin. She kept up the illusion though, thankful that Atropos kept speaking trying to distract her from what was to come. Scarelings were certainly a distraction...especially the mention of twelve. Mitsu would have laughed at the notion but suddenly couldn't get the image of Shun with a little one out of her head. He would probably hate the idea....

Her friends were next to pop up in her head one by one as Atropos guided her thoughts along. Mitsu could feel the tension leaving her arms as she envisioned their faces and welcoming smiles. She tilted her head up slightly, feeling the warmth of lips against her forehead and opened her eyes for just a moment to see the mane of purple drifting away from her. Light that was too bright suddenly blinded her from seeing anything else but she couldn't hide the grateful expression as her lips moved to say a silent 'Thank you.'

The motion was swift and precise. Mitsu's head spun back further than her spine should allow with the crunch and crackle of bone. Instantly her eyes dimmed, life fleeting from her features as her body went slack. Tears spilled down her cheeks as her eyes closed one last time, her mind already seeking a happier place as her body grew cold. When the last ounce of tension left Mitsu's body she dissipated, slowly dissolving away until there was nothing left. She was finally going home.
