Isidore listened and watched, he was quite interested in what Jinx was doing, she was quite interesting herself. He listened carefully and looked up at his dad.
"That's good?" Broken was usually bad. When he and Caelia broke their mother's ornament the week before she hadn't been too happy, they couldn't mend it. "How can you make him better Jinx?"

"Not everything that is broken cannot be mended, Isidore." There are things that could be fixed, and things that could not be. "Sometimes objects can be put back together - not quite the same, but similar enough. Living beings can mend themselves, given enough time, and if the wound is not too grave." Which was not the case here it seemed.
"It's not broken, no. Just the skin and muscle got hurt. The bone is okay." If something was broken, the puppy would definitively have been whining now that she was handling his paw. The whining started when the wound was disinfected, but she shushed the little beast quietly, doing her best to calm him down.
"You have to make sure the wound is clean, so it doesn't infect, mya." She did her best to let Isidore see what she was doing. "It hurts a bit, but if you don't clean it, it could get infected. Then he would probably get very, very sick, and it would hurt more than this does." A little pain was better than a lot of life-threatening pain. "Once it's clean then it needs to stay that way, so we put a bandage on."

"Okay." Isidore replied, watching her carefully. He committed her words to memory, it all seemed like very useful advice. "If it got infectecated and he got sick he could die? That's what happens when you get really sick right?"

"It could happen, if the infection got bad enough." Much like Ankou, Jinx saw no need to sugar-coat things for the young god. The bandage was quickly put on and tied over in order to minimize the risk of it coming off. Jinx paused, observing the pup for a moment. A collar would be the best bet, but he looked quite well-behaved...
"You have to make sure he doesn't take the bandage off. Some dogs would try to chew it off, and lick or scratch the wound, which would make it worse. If he tries to do that, I'll find some sort of collar for him." The puppy was put back in Isidore's arms once Jinx was done. "We'll have to keep a close eye on the wound, but he should be all better in a week or two, mya."

"Okay!" He certainly didn't want that happening so he would keep a close eye on the puppy. "I will take really good care of him! Thank you Jinx."

"No problem. mya. Let me know if something happens." Better to monitor the little pop closely - just in case there was an infection. Good care would lower the chances, however.
((And this looks done to me, unless there was something else you wanted to do ? smile ))
