It's a good thing that Luke didn't voice those thoughts out loud, for there would have been one very offended and annoyed older brother. He didn't -have- to try to be nice you know.
Even so, Asch huffed and dropped himself into the pew in front of Luke.
"Well hurry it up, I don't have all-" he looked out the window to see that the rain was still coming down in sheets. "Nevermind."

"I would if I could." He leaned backwards in his seat, brushing the back of his hand across his forehead and lowering it to his chest. Maybe he was actually sick? He'd had the vague understanding that his inattentiveness to proper sleep and nutrition would catch up with him sooner or later, but this didn't really feel like normal fatigue or even exhaustion. It was discomforting, even somewhat painful, and nothing if not thoroughly unwelcome. Arceus, it was just one thing after another.
It was certainly longer than a minute, but not too much longer passed before Luke pushed away from the pew and rose to his feet, a sigh in his breath. It was sort of hard to remember what normal felt like or recognize whether or not he felt that way, but, "I don't really want to stay here myself." Moreover, he was simply restless, anxious, and didn't want to sit in one place if he could move well enough to leave.

"Hmph," was all Asch had to say to that, his eyes fixed on the old window panes. He sat like that for a few moments, listening to the sounds of the driving wind and rain. Yet also paying attention to his twin behind him. His arm draped over the back of the pew as he just sat there.
When Luke got up and voiced wanting to leave, he tilted his head slightly in his brother's direction. "And walk through that? Psh." Sounded pretty stupid to him. He would only get drenched, maybe even zapped by lightning. Didn't sound like a great idea.

"I don't know," he approached the front door and pushed it partway open, breathing in the humidity and the scent of wet earth, "how long is reasonable to try and wait out a storm? It could keep up for ten minutes, or an hour, three hours..." His voice trailed off as he spoke in a subconscious understanding that it wasn't really something that could be helped one way or another.
A brief moment of silence, and he turned to face Asch, "Rosie said you gave back Vahy'n." He used a neutral tone, voicing a simple fact that could be confirmed or denied without any indication of accusation or a questioning of his motives.

Asch shrugged. "You have somewhere to be?" Although really, Luke should get whatever that was checked out, but he seemed to be fine now. There was no telling how long that storm would last, and they were just at the outskirts of town.
At his brother's statement though, Asch went quiet and turned so that he was facing away from Luke completely. "Yeah, so?" Trying to pass it off as not a big deal.

Well, no, not exactly. It wasn't like he didn't have anything to do, though. Either way, there was no helping it, he supposed; they held no sway over the weather. Mieu knew Sunny Day, but, welll...
He breathed a light sigh. "Before it was always 'you'll never see her again' and stuff. It's just kind of... weird... that all of a sudden you change your mind." There certainly wasn't anyone who was unhappy that Vahy'n was back with her proper trainer, but it was undeniably strange that the event had come to pass as it had.

"Hmph. I never actually needed her. She became more of a pain than she was worth, so I just got rid of her."
A blatant lie, but Luke didn't have to know that. It was a good cover up, or so he thought. Asch remained faced away from Luke though, not wanting to look his brother in the eye.

A long pause, as if expecting an amendment, then, "I see."
Not really a good cover, no. If he'd simply wanted to get rid of Vahy'n, why return her to her owner instead of simply disposing of the pokeball? The fact that he referred to Vaporeon properly as 'she' instead of 'it' didn't go unnoticed either. He paced idly in small, slow circles, driven by a restless need to stay in motion, "Whatever the reason, I'm glad... I'm sure Rosie and Vahy'n are really, really happy." That alone was a pleasant thought.

"Hmph. Why would I care?" Asch said indignantly while inwardly... he was somewhat glad to hear that Vahy'n was happy.
However, Luke's pacing soon got his attention and Asch glanced back at his brother. "Must you do that? It's annoying."

Luke shrugged. Whether or not he cared, whether or not he said he cared... It didn't change the most important aspects of the situation, and that was what mattered.
The evident frustration with his pacing drew Luke to stop, at least for long enough to give an explanation. He inclined his eyes towards the windows, frowning, "It's hard to breathe if I just sit still." He wanted to leave.

Asch's brows furrowed and he stared at Luke for several moments. Something wasn't right. The longer he looked at his twin, the more he could tell. Aside from the fact that his brother was apparently having a hard time breathing, something in his gut told him that something was wrong.
The older of the two stood, and walked over to Luke to stare at him critically. If it was what he thought it was, then...

Anyone would have to admit that having someone walk up to you without saying a word to stare silently and analytically was kind of disconcerting. Luke only tolerated it briefly before taking a half step back, a brow raised in confusion, "...What?"

Asch's first instinct was to say it was "nothing" but... if it was what he thought it was, then it wasn't nothing. Thus he sighed and folded his arms, looking away.
"It's not for me to say, but you should probably see a doctor."
Although he kinda doubted that Luke would believe him anyway.

He frowned. Luke didn't really like that kind of question dodging, especially when the information evidently being withheld was relevant to him. "That's kind of ominous," he replied. "Guess I can't hope for an explanation, huh?" It wasn't a matter of disbelief, necessarily. He'd been far from the top of his game for some time now, though he'd attributed his flagging stamina and bouts of dizziness more to erratic sleeping habits and insufficient appetite more than anything else.

"Mother and Father could tell you more than I could, anyway," Asch said, waving it off. Inwardly hoping that maybe that'd be reason enough for Luke to finally get some sense in him and go home.
Asch glanced towards the windows again. It seemed that the rain was finally starting to slow down.
