Let's make this the end; Now's the time, take it back! Take it in hand! The crescent moon rises in red flames of revolution

The world so lovable yet harsh,
there were some loathed it,
With their cruel irrational "system";
If I approve, then the future won't exist...

A white-haired young man was lost in the hallways for quite sometime, as he complained mentally Why did they make the campus so big! and sighing. He checked the time with his watch, seeing that he skipped his first and second class even thought its his first day. All he could blame his skipping of classes was him having no sense of direction at all. He trembled by the fact that he might get a scolding and punishment from his cousin if ever she knew this. The young man then continued to walked around the campus, only to stumbled at the Spell Casting Classroom.
He took out a piece of paper, checking what class he should right then and seeing that his next class was in fact Spell Casting. He silently thanked to the heavens that he found the classroom without wandering for hours.
The white-haired youth entered the room and said "I'm sorry for being late Professor Jacobs." calmly.

Boys and girls, face forward,
finding hope in the unbearable heat.
Recall, and bring to words, your
miraculous encounters and farewells...
From the overstated war front of daydream,
to beyond a mobius strip of emotion...

Lucy Blake

Whilst sitting at the back of the classroom, Lucy looked as more students came in. That boy called Mac walked in, and a boy with headphones entered too. Also a tall girl with brown-red hair. Lucy didn't think much of any of them.

The teacher seemed rather ditzy. Great. Lucy looked as he spoke. As she begun to wonder what element she would be most drawn too.

xXxQuickly removing his headphones and stuffing it into his pocket, briefly removing his iPod to press pause before stuffing it back into his pocket, Damyen noticed that Penelope gave him a weird kind of wave... And there was the chimp and guy addicted to food. How had he missed them? Then again, how anyone got into Star Wars, having briefly recognized the wave from Penelope as such, was a mystery to him. After watching an hour of it, he felt like he was watching the worst superhero movie of all time, The Watchmen, yet had that habit to never start something and not finish it. He'd at least finished the originals, no matter how horrible it had been to him, and swore to never watch it again.

xXxBriefly returning the wave albeit in a less hesitant manner, he saved his file and shut down his computer. “Damyen,” he stated calmly after slightly raising his left hand to shoulder level then dropping it back down. Noting the multiple elements listed on the board and their abilities, his eye twitched slightly. Magic and spells weren't something he'd expected in this school. Switching his laptop for a notebook, he started copying what was scrawled on the board into the pages in the front of his notebook yet deliberately keeping the spirals to the right side as he scribbled it down. Since he was ambidextrous yet mostly used his left hand for writing, he found it easier to write in notebooks from back to front with the spirals and holes on the opposite side it was supposedly mandatory to write in. He was curious as to which element seemed more like him, but it was difficult to tell since he was hard to truly describe. There were multiple options that felt right to him and yet no solid area that described him to a tee.

Marc glanced at Churuine, then back to the front of the class, then quickly back at her. What...what was she doing? She was giving him a weird look and sort of fluttering her eye lids. Yulian "Ian" Jacobs

User Image
"Okay---is everyone actually awake out there?" Ian asked, after getting a few scattered introductions. There was a sullen girl in the back corner who hadn't spoken at all. Ian grimaced. He hated students who acted like they were too cool to speak to anyone else. Made him want to give them a good smack in the face with his cane. Honestly...kids and their attitudes. One girl was making eyes at one of the boys and everyone else, he wasn't sure if they were even paying attention.

"Well, anyway, we need to get on with this lesson or we're not going to get very far. So, Mac, you had some good questions and observations--which is great because at the moment I'm half convinced you're the only student that's really alive and interested in class. To answer: strictly speaking, earth, air, water and fire aren't really elements either. The elements, as I'm sure you know, are on the periodic table and have to do with chemistry and all that. Magic elements are completely different. And 'element' may not be the correct word but it's historical and such. We'll cover that at some point too. It might help if you think of them more as 'specialties.' And what your personal magic specialty is really depends on yourself--your personality, your thoughts and your soul."

"There are also two types of elements as you can see from the chart on the board. All of you who are new to magic are likely going to align with one of the basic elements--that is, earth, fire, water, air, life, death, light or shadow. There are advanced elements that combine two of the basic elements to get something new entirely but these usually require either a great deal of study, or inherited skill. The advanced elements are sound, nature, lightning and ice."

"There is a particular ritual everyone is going to have to go through in order to find their magical alignment--well, everyone except our student council members who have all already learned their first level spells. Any questions at this point?"

--

((Please remember that the alignment you choose for your character will need to approved by the crew, who will make sure all the alignments work the characters' defined personalities. ))

Mac shrugged. "Well yeah. I meant magically... and all. I know about the whole periodic table thing. I think my uncle has a tablemat with it all written down somewhere. But I got it. makes sense. The prosecution rests, no further questions and whatever else people say." The thought to stop talking passed through his mind, and he decided to heed it momentarily. He was super excited for whatever this ritual was though. He couldn't wait to find out what his "real magic" affinity was, and how it compared to his stage magic.

Waitwaitwait, the student council could already use magic? He paled slightly as he thought back to spraying Angela in the face with magic ink. She may have ended up pummeling him with pillows, but could she have possibly... electrocuted him? Set him on fire? Drowned him? Maybe not drowned. He didn't really see her as a water sort of person, of course, who knew?

Penelope was slightly miffed. She was paying attention! And, and she was totally interested in the class! She'd even said here name-... or wait. She had just thought about saying her name hadn't she? It hadn't ever really managed to work its way out of her mouth. Of course now if she tried to say it it would be a little out of context wouldn't it? Still, she wanted to figure out a way to let Mr. Jacobs know she was interested and paying attention.

"Um." She squeaked, then coughed lightly to clear her throat. "Well ah, I was wondering... Mr Jacobs. What do you... well, what are we... defining, as a soul? You said our magic would be de-... I mean, the element is... i-is based off of our personality, a-and stuff, but the ah, the soul is sort of a... an ambiguous... thing. I mean it can mean all sorts of things... I think." She turned slightly pink and looked down at her desk. It seemed like a stupid question to her actually, now that she thought about it. Why did it really matter what he meant by soul? She still had a pretty good idea how her magical affinity would be determined without knowing that information.

User ImageUser ImageRui twirl his pen in between his fingers while focusing himself at Professor Jacobs, though on the corer of his eyes, observing each and every student inside the classroom.. Good thing Mac is trying to keep the class lively, and the other new girl named Penelope is participating as well..

Looking from his wrist watch, seems like Angela and the other officers are late for the spell casting class.. Where the heck are they??! They should have been here a while ago.. Somehow the council must be the model of this school, though they had been granted to have their advanced first level of magic it wouldn't be an exemption for this subject..

"Can I just make another additional information, Professor?.." Rui raised his hand and sigh... "Magics supposed to be use responsibly, not to show off.. Once you have choose your element, you are not allowed to use your magic to hurt other students inside this school.. If you wish to practice.. We have a facility in here.."

Seems like his room mate is being bothered by Churuine once more, ugh. girls are such a bunch of headaches.. Well the very least, he's not being thrown out by girls...

Churuine smiled and twines her fingers.. "I see... I'm thinking on what element should I specialize.." Looking at the teacher.. Reading those elements and forms at the board, then back to Marc.. She just couldn't help but to raise a brow unto him.. Go to the school clinic? "Uhm.. No.. No.. I'm perfectly fine.." She made it sure that her dress looks so appealing for Marc, and base on her observation its not working on him!.. Churuine should be the one to ask him if there's something wrong with his eyes!.. or this would make her think even more of him being interested on men?

The girl smirked as Mac starts to talk endlessly, really???! he's that enthusiastic with this topic.. "The student body had their first set of skills.. would that be sound so unfair with the normal students?" She smirked while gazing across at Rui.. Her gaze caught on the new white hair boy, he seemed a bit serious too.. Ugh, why is it this school is full of grouchy looking men? Anyhow, churuine smiled at him and wave her hand at this fella (Ein)

Her eyes flicked at Damyen busy on his laptop and the other girl at the back of the room, she's a loner isn't she?.. Well Churuine was hoping that there will be out there just to make this class interesting...

The goblin remains and the princess will die
the right road to Faerie is the blink of an eye...

Angela stalked into the spell casting class, her face thunderous. She was pretty much ready to strangle the first person that spoke to her so without meeting anyone's eyes, she made her way to the nearest empty seat, kicked the chair back and flopped down, dropping her bag onto the floor.

Her meeting with the art teacher. She wasn't sure if it went well or not. But regardless, he'd managed to piss her off several times and the worst part was she couldn't punch him in his stupid, smug face because he was a teacher.

So yes, she was pouting. Angrily. He'd also made her late to class. Stupid man.

Ah well. From the sounds of it, they were just covering things she already knew, and Rui was acting like an old man again. Angela leaned her head on her hand and listened to him ramble, rolling her eyes. Wasn't everything he was saying just common sense anyway? Angela fished a sheet of paper from her bag, folded it into an airplane, then launched it at the back of Rui's head before pasting an innocent expression on her face and looking to the front of the class as if she'd done nothing wrong.

"I don't know all the traits for the elements yet, but perhaps air would be a good one for you?" Marc suggested. Mostly because she was kind of an airhead. "Because you have a light, breezy sort of personality," he added as an afterthought. That was nice and vague. It could be taken as a compliment, even.

Reading the board, he really wasn't sure what to expect for his alignment. He didn't feel he matched with any of the elements. But as long as he didn't end up with something girly like light or life, he didn't mind.

He wanted something that would be useful to him going forward. Anything that revolved around sissy things like healing or whatever, that would just be a complete waste of time. Then again, the fact that he thought that way probably meant those sorts of things wouldn't be his alignment. At least, he hoped. Personal preference had to come into play somewhat, right?

"Hey now," Ian joked. "This is spell casting, not philosophy." He shot Penelope a grin. "Just kidding of course. I would say your soul is what differentiates you from, say, your desk. It's what makes you alive and sentient--what gives you your mind, your personality, your sense of autonomy. It may surprise you to learn, but actually all living things have souls whether it's you, me, animals or even the trees or grass--it's just that some things have a more developed soul, so to speak. Seromancers and Animancers like myself are probably more keenly aware of this fact since many of our spells involve manipulating life force or living things. But I suppose you can think of your soul as your life force, and something inextricably intertwined with what makes you who you are."

"Now then, the ritual for determining your alignment is simple enough. If everyone will look at the back of the class, you'll see a magical array on the floor--basically this circle contains the archaic symbols of each element and a bowl containing an object that symbolizes that element."

Ian picked up a small wooden box from his desk and lifted the lid off. Pulling out one of the black objects from inside, he held it up for the class to see. "These are philosopher stones--it's probably not quite what you're thinking, but the specifics don't matter so much for today's lesson. Basically, you'll each get one of these stones and go, one by one, to the magic array at the back of the class. When you find the element you most closely align with, the stone and the symbol will light up."

"Sounds easy enough, yeah?"

Songs has different meaning to different people

Ein took an vacant seat near the window as the professor started the lecture. Taking out a notebook, Ein took note of every words said by professor Jacobs. About how the personalities of a person would affect which his/her would be element. About the basic and advance types of elements. And lastly, about the ritual needed to uptake to find their magical alignment but with the exception of the Student Council. Due to them already learn their first spell. Now the I think of it, Schnee-neechan is also part of the Student Council. I wonder what element she has? Maybe light or wind or something else. I could ask her about it later.

Yukiharu entered the classroom as she mentally mutter, Sorry for being late.... The girl doesn't have much of strength in her due to her cold. She took the seat near the door since of her lack of strength. Heck, Yuki didn't noticed Ein because of how much strain her body was feeling.
The chestnut-haired girl took out the sketchbook and pen in her backpack after hanging it to her chair. While she put her violin case at the floor, gently so the instrument won't be damage. Although, that's just Yukiharu being paranoid.
Yukiharu tried not let the professor or the other students about her having a cold as she listened to the lectures. Why was Yuki trying her best to attend the spell casting class even thought with the state she was? Its because, its her chance to learn new spells. Spells the might and able to help those she cared for.

On the other hand, Ein while taking notes, saw his cousin, entered the classroom. A smile appeared onto his face as he got a bit motivated about studying. However, a bit sad since Yukiharu didn't noticed him which was unusual for her. Because her being perspective of her surroundings. Ein glanced a bit at Yukiharu and noticed how uneven her breathing was and how she's sweating which we're signs of her having a cold. Yet, the young man kept silent about the condition of her cousin. Because, Nee-chan won't attend an class in the state without a reason.

Let's make this the end; Now's the time, take it back! Take it in hand! The crescent moon rises in red flames of revolution

Angela was sitting there, innocently attending the lesson when the paper airplane made a return trip and sailed to a soft landing on her desk. She glanced over a Rui, who was...glaring at her. As usual. She gave him a completely innocent smile and unfolded the airplane to read whatever she could see scrawled there. Hmph. What a brat.

Grinning slightly, she quickly scrawled, "The Student body president is throwing paper airplanes in class? For shame!" Carefully folding the airplane, she sent it sailing back toward Rui. This time it hit him in the shoulder and bounced to the floor. Honestly, that boy needed to smile more. No matter what he did, he always had that stern, disappointingly fatherly look on his face. He was going to grow old and wrinkly before his time.

And because of their families and such, she would have to see him every day and hear him whining about his hair falling out and all that. She really needed to get him to lighten up.

Maybe it was time to spike the hot chocolate...
