Biz eagerly bit of a piece of meat and quickly chewed and swallowed it before responding. "A home for rogues...? That...that sounds great!" The female cub nodded, a grin crossing her own now stained maw. "I'd love to come along!"
Nafasi, the cleanest of the three, ate a bit more of the meat. "Yeah...there's prides and clans and such, but a mixed grouping of rogues would really be neat..."
Biz looked up at Nafasi, studying the other creature a moment. "You're cool looking..." She poked at the various spatters of color on his fur with a paw, admiring the patterns. Then, as if she quickly remembered her manners, she withdrew the paw and went back to eatting.
Nafasi took a moment to process that. "Well...thank you!" A tail wag followed the remark, Nafasi happy to be liked by his two new friends.

Juhudi was exuberant, nearly bouncing on his paws and he took another large bite of the kill. Only last night he had been alone, but now he had two new friends, no, he had a family.
"You would? Great! We'll be the pride ever!"
A broad grin spread across his maw, tail flicking in an attempted wag. Nafasi seemed to do that when he was happy, it was only fitting to try the same.
Swallowing his last bite, he leaned over to take another, but then suddenly froze. His ears flicked and his eyes scanned the surrounding area. He could have sworn he'd heard something. He tounge flicked across his maw and he licked his nose clean before lifting his nose in the air, attempting to sniff out the approaching stranger.
"I hear something."

Kereng'ende blessed the wind, which blew to rather than from him. Ahead, he could smell lions and a scent he didn't know. And overlying it all, the glorious scent of food. As he ran, he continued to chunner away to himself, giving voice to the thoughts that wouldn't leave him alone.
"Maybe they'll be nicer than the other lions... They might decide to share... But what about that other smell, eh? Wonder what that is?"
As he drew nearer the scent, he slowed his pace and kept his pale pink eyes open. He coudl make out three dim shapes, all looked small. Whic meant cubs like him. And where there were cubs, there were usually adults. It was the possibility of adults that scared him.

While Biz continued to eat, Nafasi's head swiveled around, ears perked and alert for any noise he could pick up. He could hear a bit of a rustling noise...but he was unable to tell if it was something approaching or just the wind. Licking his own nose clean, Nafasi struggled to pull a scent from the air, but was unsuccessful in that too. "I swear I can hear something too....but I'm not sure what."
Biz settled back, feeling much better after the bit of meal. Licking her maw clean, the female looked up at the other two, wondering what it was they heard.

Juhudi's dark ears twitched, swivelling in every direction to find the source of the sound, pawsteps? Maybe the scavengers or worse, a bigger lion. His nose twitched, scenting the air for any sign, but the smell of the kill was just too strong.
What a minute...what was that? His pale eyes fell on a spot of dark amoung the grass of the plains. There was something there, but what he couldn't quite tell.

Crouching low in the grass, Kereng'ende continued to move forward. He thought he could see two of the figures looking around. Probably making sure their meal won't be disturbed, he thought. Slowly, he continued forward, inch by careful inch, muscles tensed to run the second he detected a threat.

Nafasi's ears remained perk, eyes scanning the surrounding land for a sign of the noise. His own eyes found the spot of dark among the grass, gaze training on it a moment as he tried to figure out what it was. Though from the look of it, it wasn't anything too terribly big... "Whoever's there, you can just come on out! We won't hurt you..."
Biz kept her distance from the unknown spot, preferring to stay behind Nafasi and Juhudi in case their company wasn't too friendly.

Juhudi shot a glance at the wild dog. That seemed a rather rash move, what if it wasn't alone? What if it wanted to hurt them?
His tail flicked, ears twitching, listening for any other sounds. They had been lucky so far, but the corpse was sure to attrack attention, and at any moment they could be surrounded by scavengers. What if the stranger was the first of them?
The cub moved a few steps away from the kill, attempting to clear his nose enough to scent out the stranger and any others that may be approaching. His pale eyes focused on the black spot as it grew a larger, obviously moving toward them. But it was moving slowly, was it afraid or was it stalking?

Kereng'ende froze as he heard one of the three call out. They wouldn't hurt him? Unsure, he stood unmoving, trying to figure out if he was being told the truth or if it was just a clever trick.
After a moment, he raised his body from it's crouch and moved forward cautiously, caling out in a small, gruff voice.
"I'm comin', but you better be telling me the truth 'bout not hurting me!"
Without another word, he began to close the distance between himself and the strange trio.

Nafasi's tail wagged a bit as the other finally showed himself. "We're telling the truth! We're not out to hurt anyone!" The wild dog looked to his two companions with a wide grin. "Our little group just keeps growing and growing..."
Ears flattening back slightly, Biz watched the other approach. "I hope he's friendly...."

The pup seemed so sure, but Juhudi wasn't convinced. That is until the dark shape responded and he could finally make out that it was another cub. It was then that the brown and white cub bounced on his paws again in excitement. Another new friend? His family just kept growing! He might have run out to meet the stranger if he didn't think that would scare the dark cub off. "We've got plenty here to share if you're hungry. You better hurry though, the scavengers will be out soon."

With the reminder of scavengers, Kereng'ende decided he was in no danger from this odd trio and practically raced over the remaining distance. Within minutes, he stood panting and gulping air as he studied the trio before him. They certainly looked friendly. He took a step towards the food, then, remembering his manners, made an elegant bow, feeling his beaded earring brush gently against his cheek, and introduced himself.
"Hello, my name is Kereng'ende, but you can call me Kere, if you like. Papa always did. Said it was easier. Can I really share with you guys?"
Hope radiated from his pink eyes as he turned to look at each and smile.

Seeing that the newcomer was indeed friendly, Biz happily moved aside so he'd have room. She was done anyway. "I'm Majibizano, usually I just go by Biz."
"Yes, you can really share was us Kere!" Nafasi grinned, looking over the collection of cubs. Their new.....whatever the name for their group would be....was growing fast. "My name is Nafasi, and he's Juhudi." The wild dog pointed to the other cub, who, no matter how many friends they gathered, would always be his best. They were the original two afterall.

Even between the 4 of them, there was plenty meat to fill each of them and still have leftovers for the scavengers. But even if there hadn't been, Juhudi would have shared. He knew what it was like to be alone, living off whatever you can catch or scavenge. And from the looks of it, the newcomer knew what that was like as well. "Help yourself, there's plenty." Having eaten his fill, he took one last bite for good measure then sat back on his haunches and started to lick his paws clean. He was indead a mess, more red than white, probably could do with a good swim to wash all that off. He'd do that when they came across water, surely they would along the way. "Hey, you wanna come with us?"

Kere dove on the food, blissfully tossing any hint of manners to the four winds. In between bites, he spoke.
"Nice to meetcha, Biz and Nafasi and Juhudi! Thanks for sharing."
He continued to eat ravenously, enjoying the taste of the meat. Within moments, his belly felt comfortably full and he say back to leisurely scratch his ear and begin the process of cleaning himself.
"Do I wanna go with you? Depends on where you go, doncha know. If you're going that," here he pointed off in the direction he'd come, "I'll prolly pass. Nothin' but bad lions out that way..."
As he spoke, his ears drooped sadly. Then, remembering he had new friends, he perked up again.
So where are you going?"
