Aminah was about the reply to Jacinthus when the drill penetrated through to the next passageway. Once through, the drill stopped and Aminah was glad for the horrible noise to have ended. But another horror emerged in its wake.
A monster! Aminah trembled; fear soaking through to her bones. She didn’t have a staff to use yet! She was barely able to get out any sort of spell successfully on a good day, how was she supposed to help take down a beast like this?
She saw a shifter on the other side of the cavern use some magic to lift some rocks to use at the beast. Maybe this could work with Aminah? She had to try. She concentrated with all of her strength, furrowing her brow and biting her lip. Work. This had to work. She finally was able to get a good amount of rock off of the ground and flung it at the beast.
But it was only a minor blow. Laughable at best. Her rocks had glanced off of the beast's leg, barely amounting to any damage. She looked to Keilana and Jacinthus, hoping that they were doing better than her.

The Alkidike cursed under her breath as the beast appeared, kicking herself for not drawing her small practice bow earlier. As Phen was bringing it forward and docking an arrow, she witnessed Jerarda go rushing past.
"Jerarda!" she shouted, nearly choking on her Sister's name. It definitely sounded a little too...desperate. Phenyo was afraid; this was what she'd worried about from the very beginning. This beast was bigger than anything they'd fought together before, and there was no protecting Jera from danger now.
Her mind spinning, she took aim - not the eyes, it was obviously blind anyway; it tracked by smell and sound. Shooting for the nose, she cursed again as the animal swung its mighty head and her arrow went sailing through the air, completely missing her target.

Jacin's posts in brown Jacin's HP: 20 Jacin rolls: 5 and misses... Jacin will be using his bow: Beasts HP: 77.5/100
A rather colorful string of curses escaped from Jacin after his first attack, or attempt at an attack, completely sailed passed the beast's head as it moved. A complete miss? So much for hitting something when it was important he thought to himself crossly before he took up another arrow so that he could prepare for his next attack a little better. Perhaps the fact that something like this appeared the moment that they were inside had thrown him off? Even so it annoyed him, he wanted to be ready for anything after all and this time he wasn't anywhere close to ready. It probably didn't help either that Kei had done what she always did, which was charging on ahead into the battle to take a swing. If nothing else at least she'd hit it, right? Score one for the Leaf Tribe at least in that respect.

Chal posts in green Chal's HP: 20 Chal rolls: 7 = half damage of the 7 = 3.5 Chal will be using his shield: Beasts HP: 74/100
Chalcedony starred, eyes rather wide, as the beast appeared as if he'd called for the thing or something, "Damn it." He knew it was possible that it might hear the drill given how loud it was, even spoke the thought out loud but really he didn't want to have to deal with the thing actually showing up... he really needed to keep such things thought himself, perhaps? Watching as everyone else, even Takoda using his magic, took up arms, he turned quickly back to look over at the creature before them. Eesh, yeah. He couldn't just be in awe of the thing, he actually had to do something. The first thing he really wanted to do was to look after Takoda and the others that might need his aid. As such he took up his shield, stepped forward, and took a swing at the beast hoping to bash it good enough that he might be able to get it's attention.
Once he'd taken that initial attack he took a couple steps back, making sure to keep his own body between that of the creature and Takoda. It was an unconscious gesture on his part, seeming to want to keep him safe even if that meant taking a hit.

Rishi posts in purple Rishi's HP: 20 Rishi rolls: 18 = full damage of the 1 (( wooo... >_>;; )) Rishi will be using his spear: Beasts HP: 73/100
Rishima couldn't help but to scramble back a few steps as the creature appeared before them, bigger then anything he'd ever seen, more scary as well, and the first thing he did was hurried to Itzal, taking his spear from where it was strapped down on the beast's back, then gave him a shove, "Go, now! I need you to protect my pack, alright?" He didn't want Itzal trying to protect him against this thing, he might very well eat the Radaku and he couldn't let that happen, the beast was his first ever friend and he wanted him to stay safe, "I said go! You can come back later when this is all over!" He gave him another pushed before turning back toward the creature, seeming to be trying to figure out what he wanted to do. There were many attacking so a part of him wanted to hold back... but when he saw that Jerarda was going after the thing he realized he couldn't stand around and do nothing, could he? He had to at least try even if he'd had little practice with the spear.
Moving forward, taking his spear in both hands, he took a lunge forward and thrust forward with gleaming tip of his spear and while he was able to make a smooth enough attack it didn't seem like he had enough force behind it, or maybe it was because of the beast's thick hide, but he didn't feel as though he'd done much. There was a little bit of blood but it was likely something that would be more annoyance then anything else.

Apparently there being many warriors within the investigating party did not matter because the legendary beast didn't seem to be getting very injured by their attacks. Shukri was somewhat awed by the fact that Takoda had slung a large rock at the creature using magic, he'd never seen his band's healers do that before and hadn't expected the shifter to be so good in battle. At the very least the pale haired boy supposed that they could disorient the beast with magic, arrows and the like being sent at it from all angles. He hoped so anyways, because he didn't think most of them were armored enough to withstand too much retaliation if it came.
Shukri wasn't even ashamed to be putting as much distance and other bodies between himself and those deadly looking claws and jaws as possible without actually leaving the room. He wanted to live if he had any choice in the matter and a sling was a distance weapon anyways. He wasn't coward enough to leave, to abandon the others when they were in so much danger but he wasn't above maximizing his chances of coming out as unscathed as possible.
The curious part of Shukri's brain, that got him in trouble as a youngling, wondered if there were more of these legendary beasts hidden in plain sight all over Sauti, just sleeping or something. A tiny reckless voice inside the boy urged him to test this theory at a later date if he lived. Thankfully the sounds of battle raging all around him were drowning that out.

The enormous beast roared as a barrage of attacks fell against its thick, rocky hide. Although not deeply injured by any single attack, it was clear that the accumulation of blows were beginning to weigh on the already tired creature.
With another immense scream, the legendary creature stretched forward, swiping at the air with one of its talon-tipped arms. He was aiming for the first of many attacks, the one that had come from the Wind Tribesman, Shukri. However, the Prentice had successfully flitted back out of the way, beyond the blind beast's confused reach.
Another roar, a mixture of rage and growing pain, rocked the cavern.

Maya : 20 Beast: 67
Still feeling the sting in her eyes from the debris from the time the creature had emerged Maya was just barely able to dodge away from the moving crowed along with Pacju. She wasn't able to see exactly where the beast was aiming as she pulled out another arrow from her quiver. Aiming once again while trying to blink the dirt free from her bug like eyes, ignoring the itch as it burned. Once she had secured the arrow Maya pulled the string back her arms steady before she let the arrow soar towards the creature. Smiling when it managed to stick his hide.

Jacin's posts in brown Jacin's HP: 20 Jacin rolls: 9 = half damage of the 8 = 4 Jacin will be using his bow: Beasts HP: 63/100
Jacin was able to take a few steps back, regain his composure, and his hand went quickly drew back the string of his bow, took aim, and loosed the arrow to fly forward toward the roaring, raging beast. This time his arrow hit, burying itself into the hide of the beast, and while he wasn't sure what sort of damage he'd done to the creature he could at least hope that he'd annoyed the thing, "Alright Kei, get a good hit in." He murmured, wanting her to be able to land a blow but stay out of the way of that thing. He didn't really like her being so close but he knew full well that he wouldn't be able to hold her back. She was as stubborn and hard headed as he was, there was no holding her back now. Besides, she had passed her trials, she was given a rank, which meant that she would be fine.
Reaching over to his quiver to get another arrow he continued moving along, wanting to be ready for his next attack. Maybe he could find himself a good perch which with to shoot the thing from, wanting to see if he could get a chance to take a swing at its face. Blinding it after all would likely help their cause.

Aminah flinched as the monster swiped at one of the wind earthlings in the group. She didn’t know the boy, but she still didn’t want him to get hurt. She breathed a sigh of relief as the wind earthling managed to evade the attack.
The loud bellow from the monster pulled at Aminah. The monster sounded in pain, and rightfully so. Everyone was still barraging the monster with attacks left and right. Even though some of the attacks were missing, the ones that landed had to hurt the thing.
It was trying to hurt the others though, and for that, something had to be done. Aminah half-heartedly gathered her strength and tried with all her might to use another earth magic attack. She managed to gather the rocks into a steady mass and flung it at the beast, but it was poor timing. The monster happened to move towards the others at that exact moment and cased Aminah’s attack to hit the wall behind it.

Chal posts in green Chal's HP: 20 Chal rolls: 7 = half damage of the 12 = 6 Chal will be using his shield: Beasts HP: 57/100
The first attack by the big beast was a miss, something that Chal was rather grateful for given that the thing had gone after the Wind Tribesman that he had met not that long ago. It would have been a bit of a shame if the thing had injured him when he had been so lucky as to escape from any damage from the beast that had been pursuing him that day. Shifting in place, lifting his shield up in front of him, the Shifter lunged forward and crashed into the beast, landing a rather solid blow to it, before he took a couple more shuffling steps steps back before he set up his shield before him once more as he readied to defend if the need arose. There were a lot of warriors here, a lot of them diving into the battle, he could only hope that they were able to deal with this thing... as well as hope that there was only one of these beasts.
The bright eyes of the Shifter turned for just a moment to check out Takoda, to see how the Healer was doing at the moment, before he turned back toward the creature again. He didn't want to look away from it too much after all else it would take full advantage he was sure.

Rishi posts in purple Rishi's HP: 20 Rishi rolls: 11 = half damage of the 1 = 1/2 (( poor Rishi lol )) Rishi will be using his spear: Beasts HP: 56.5/100
Rishima took a couple steps back, tightened his grasp on his weapon, and took another thrust forward toward the beast, wanting to try once more to get a shot in on it... and while he was able to hit again he still wasn't able to do nearly as much damage as he would have liked to have done, "Hmm..." He needed to figure out how to get more power behind these blows he thought to himself, so far from being a fighter that it wasn't funny but at least he was able to hit? He wished that he could ask someone about it, or at least could have asked before this, but now it was too late and it seemed that it was going to become a 'learn by doing' sort of things.
He was going to keep going through, Jerarda and his other sisters were fighting so hard and he wanted to continue to do the same. He just hoped he was able to dodge those claws... just look at them he thought to himself, giving the large, sharp claws a momentary glance before looking away from them. He didn't want to think about that, he wanted to think about coming out victorious with the help of this group.

Shukri was thanking his lucky stars and Bergchi's grace that the creature had missed him, that he'd managed to back away in time to avoid getting sliced into by the beast's claws. Still the attack made his body shake with adrenaline and it was with quivering hands that he reloaded his sling. He could do this, he could keep fighting even at his stomach twisted in knots and oh look the shifter boy who'd saved him the other day! Shukri worried when he saw the other male getting so close to the beast and yet his presence and the fearless way he rammed into the rocky scaled reptile was comforting. No one was giving in even as their attacker gave rage filled roars of pain.
Still, it was with weaker arms and less power than before that Shukri swung his sling and let fly a sharp grey and purple hunk of rock. It grazed his target's left nostril and the blond doubted he'd done more than irritate it further. Every little thing counted though and what mattered now was wearing the creature down.

Ayo watched as the immense creature swiped blindly at the air, clearly infuriated by their presence. She cringed as those sharp talons narrowly missed Shukri, a boy with whom she was unfamiliar, but another who was clearly of the Wind Tribe. Her heart thudded against her chest. The best had already taken two of their tribesmen. She didn't want to see it injure anyone, let alone another member of the Wind Tribe.
She would persevere. She would fight. She couldn't let this creature do more harm.
The woman grabbed up another rock. Just as she began to heave the projectile, however, the legendary beast let out its ear-shattering roar. Startled and shaking with a mixture of fear and adrenaline, the rock slipped uselessly from Ayo's fingers.
Poor thing needed to get her act together. Thank goodness Takoda seemed to be having much more luck, surprising to her, given his seemingly jumpy nature. She would be lying if she said she wasn't impressed by how well the Healer was handling this situation.

Trying to quickly recover, Phenyo drew another arrow and took much more careful aim. She wanted the face, regardless of where she hit (though, in her head she still hoped to disorient the monster by taking out another primary sense). Firing her weapon, she didn't realize she was holding her breath until it struck the monster just under the eye socket.
Inside she joyously cheered; yes, she'd done it! On the outside, Phenyo was trying to check on where Jerarda was and what her Sister was doing, as well as draw her third arrow.
