The poor shifter looked torn, after all he didn't want to leave it there...but at the same time he didn't want to get clawed all over just to try and get it to a ledge. Maybe they could watch it for a while and see if its parents would come and retrieve it. Yes..that sounded like a logical plan.
"O..kay how about we ..watch it for a bit? Go and hide behind a rock..and if..if none come to help it then we can help it to the ledge." He murmured realizing once again he was a healer, so any scratches they endured he could heal. He felt a bit stupid for a moment, worrying over getting cut and he could just heal themselves.
Shaking his head mostly at himself he then sighed and walked over to where a rock was and waved for Shukri to follow.

"Don't you ever get tired of worrying about everyone and everything else?" Shukri asked quietly and he made his way over to the rock and slipped behind it so as to be out of sight for the most part. The young prentice was no cold hearted monster but he had only so much attention and caring he could give to the world. It was simply not within the pale haired boy to give fully of himself to others and he wondered how Takoda managed it. Surely at some point the shifter had to be selfish and put his own wants and needs first or else he'd be run ragged trying to be helpful.. right?
The cream coloured hatching grumbled and hissed to itself, the crest atop it's head flaring up on occasion. Though no longer threatened by the people the young sail scale was still not happy with it's situation.

Takoda gave a wide eye'd look of confusion to Shukri's comment about how he could possibly have enough of himself to want to help everyone he came across. He searched within himself for an answer, something to bolster up a reason for why he did this, put everyone ahead of himself and his wants and needs. The shifter had no simple answer, nor a complex one to give the wind tribe man.
Shrugging he seemed to have no answer, "Somebody has too worry about others...I don't mind if its me."
It was...a complex answer, despite everything and one that didn't explain anything. It was just Takoda's nature to worry about others, to put them before himself. Moving behind the rock he went to hide behind it so he could keep watch on the lizard.

" I see," Shukri murmured. He still didn't quite get his companion or his limitless compassion but he doubted there was a way to get a more concrete answer from him right now. All the young man could do was remain crouched behind cover and wait to see if the sail scale was rescued.
In less time than he's expected a head popped out from over the ledge above, a larger reptile scare with mossy green scales called down to the younger one with what Shukri assumed was concern. He'd never really bothered to learn what the various noises a sail scale made meant, he knew when they were scared, angry or hungry but that was about it.

Takoda felt relief seep into him as an older scales managed to find the youngling and chirp at it. Sighing he turned to look at the wind tribe member giving a sheepish grin. Perhaps he should worry more about himself than others. But he couldn't help it, after all ...this was what made Takoda himself.
"I guess..we should go then.." He murmured inching away as he didn't want to startle the creatures. "And I should probably head back to my tribe...they may worry."

Shukri nodded and began to carefully edge away from the sail scales, he doubted they'd be attacked if spotted but it might delay the rescue and that would only upset Takoda. "I hope I have a chance to see more of you another day." It was best not to press his luck and ask for more time with the shifter. At the very least Shukri now knew the general area the tribe was staying in and it'd be easy for him to track them down later. If nothing else it had been an interesting first meeting with the curious older stranger.
