Although she wasn't close to the hunter, as Wilson started to get consumed by the crystals, Ariane felt a little like this on the inside... But she knew hat orders were orders; she didn't think leaving was an option.
"We're all gonna die," She decided, smashing another crystal, crouching down to keep herself from falling off the stairs.

"That doesn't seem very strategic at all," he said in response to Deryk wincing as a crystal cut him and then noted the crystallization of his blood as it oozed out of the cut of his hand. He paled a little at this and glanced over at Ariane when she made a fatalistic response.
He uttered a small grunt, "Well, if we are to die, just know, that uh...I don't hate you."

Deryk shot Ariane a wide eyed look as she stated they were all going to die here.
"D-don't say that! Not going to die here. Not going to die. We'll fight it back! It..It can't keep this up forever. Gotta be a way to stop it. Yes. Gotta be a way.."
The problem here was that he felt really tired. Jude was right, it wasn't very strategic but... what else could they do? The Moon hunters were all busy blockading the students. They weren't going to be able to help them here. But this was looking worse and worse as time went on.

"You know I don't hate you either, Judy," Ariane chuckled, taking several steps up towards him to give him a pat on his firm butt cheeks, offering the crystallized Wilson a grin; don't worry, you're not going to be alone.
"Oh... You're right," She looked at Deryk, pausing a bit, "We're not going to die. We're going to become fossils. You know, like insects trapped in amber. Is that more accurate?"

He gasped a bit as Ariane gave him a grope making him shift a bit as if uncomfortable while he tried to focus on the crystals, "Even now you do this s**t," he actually smiled from amusement despite their current ordeal. It was almost nice to be groped at least one last time before they...
Then Deryk spoke up and he furrowed his brow, "I just don't see any end to this at all, no weak point no anything. We..."
He stared down at his feet as he almost felt him self shift and fall, oh s**t...

Madison bit back the startled cry as the crystals swallowed Wilson. "We... we can't let them get past. We can't," she repeated; her throat was dry, and there was a tremble in her. This was worse. This was the worst thing she'd ever seen in her life. The fear was like a wave.
But she had to. Otherwise - no, she could see Ennea, Robert, Jordan, Petra, Jerry... Reine... all of Phoenix and more, swallowed up by these creatures. Candace and Cass and - no! She would not allow it. Another wave of crystals threatened to break over her head, but she and Kouki shattered them. No, no, no.
She would hold this line.

"STOP THAT!"
Deryk's cry was a desperate one as he shouted at Ariane, looking horrified at what she had just said. It didn't change much when Jude chipped in.
"N-n-nonono. Has to be a way! Can't let them get past. Wh-what if it doesn't stop at the island? What if these things spread around the world?!"
He was with Maddie. They couldn't let these get past the stairs. He soon flinched as he felt something cut into him. Looking down, he stared in horror as crystals began to form on his body from the blood that was seeping out.
"AAAH! Get it off! Getitoff!"

"We... we can block the door with our... our selves. If we have to," Maddie affirmed, voice shaky. Another crystal sliced down the side of her body, and immediately fresh, heavy growths began to protrude from her skin. She shuddered and tried to paw them away, but it hurt, god it hurt. "M-maybe they can fix us. Y-yeah, I bet they can. It won't be forever," she said, trying to believe it as hard as she could.
It was rather futile.

"The world?" Ariane replied, chuckling at Deryk, "In anime, the school children are always the one to mess things up for the antagonist, isn't it? Or a bunch of ponies." She took a swing at another crystal.
"I doubt blocking the entrance will work," She pointed out, "They'll probably just regenerate past us."

"Maybe if we..." He glanced up as he heard crackling and some crystals broke free, his arms instinctively went to cover his head only to have them clatter off of his fear shield semi-harmlessly.
It still hurt, "...I don't know. If nothing is going to work then why are we here? If it is so hopeless...."
...Why are they bothering. He summoned his weapon swiping at a few of the crystals instead of using his hands, "Damn it."

"Has to be a way... The lifers.. Good at this sort of thing right? Right? Gotta try everything we can."
Deryk grimaced as he tried to attack and pry the crystal off of him. It did little good. In fact, it just caused his wound to grow, allowing more of the crystals to form.
He had just sat by and watched Killzone die. He had to try and make up for that one way or another. So he was desperate to find some end to this.

"Then go away," Madison snapped at Jude; she regretted the words as soon as they were out of her mouth. "Sorry, I - sorry... that was stupid... I'm just scared, damnit," she admitted, feeling like an a**. Was she falling to pieces here or what?
Suddenly, crystals caught at her feet, and she yelped, falling forward and nearly tumbling off the high stairway. Ironically, she caught herself on a crystal outcrop, but the world spun and darkened for a moment. She felt Kouki's FEAR draining.

Deryk felt like he was wearing down a lot. The crystals attached to his body made every movement incredibly painful. Wincing, he came to a complete halt as the stray figure appeared before him once more. What was the staff doing? How could it even do all of this in the first place? Wasn't Excalibur supposed to be keeping Merlin in check?
He shook his head hard, trying to get rid of the feelings of anger he felt pressing down on him.

"Because we're in charge of stalling for time," Ariane muttered, slamming her weapon down on a nearby fragment. However, she missed it, her arm catching on its side instead, red blood seeping out the cut. Almost immediately, her blood begun to crystallize, and she could only watch as fragments formed from it.
She would find it cool if they weren't in a life-and-death situation.
"I'm standing there, just in case her suggestion actually works," She laughed, taking the stairs up to the entrance; how could these crystals be this much of a handful?

Madison verbally lashed at him and then promptly apologized he just offered her something of a smile, "Even if you did mean it I wasn't going to leave without taking as many as I could out with me. I mean you guys are ... "
Slash of crystal against his face, he felt his blood well out and turn to crystal a few seconds after.
"Are all I have now. All of you, not just certain ones," he said softly trying not to let the fear of turning to crystal overwhelm him. His eyes glanced over at Ariane, "I don't know..."
