Takoda felt useful, and he enjoyed being able to help others in the healing ways even if they weren't going to become healers themselves. Perhaps it was knowledge he felt that everyone should know, at least the basics. Licking his lowers lips he tried to think of the things he could show her that didn't need the herbs he had back home.
Basically stitching wounds and ...setting bones were the only things that came to mind. How could he properly show someone how to do those without having someone who needed tending? An idea popped into his head as he reached for his satchel and pulled out some leather scraps. Tucking deeper into his bag he looked for his needle that he always kept on hand.
"You need to use something thing but strong for the stitches. Something though that won't rot if exposed to a bit of sweat or water. Its been a lot of trial and error finding the right fibers that were thin enough to use." Takoda recalled when he ran out of the stuff his mother used and it had been a terrible time finding more suitable thread.
"The idea is the stitches are to keep a large wound closed so it can properly mend without constantly being ripped open. Normally I would use a paste of herbs to help keep out infection..." Takoda looked about and it was a real shame that night was starting to fall, though he had no trouble navigating at night he wasn't sure how well Ayo would do. Besides he knew Jahaur well as well where all the plants he would need would be....this place was still quite alien to him.
"I don't suppose you know of a plant you could use for that purpose?"
