Amun took heed of Esha's warning, carefully making his way through the uneven terrain after her. Trees and rocks he understood, as well as tree roots since his companion had explained them. When Esha announced that they had dinner, he took a minute to figure out that dinner meant food.
The former star shyly glanced at Esha. "We should eat together," he suggested. Quite frankly, he wasn't really sure if he knew how to eat... Besides, he'd feel bad if he was eating and Esha wasn't.

When Esha noticed Amun looking somewhat confused again, she decided to specify "Oh, um, when you eat at different times of the day, the meal is called different names.. usually breakfast is what one would eat in the morning - or when they wake up.. then there is lunch, and dinner."
She smiled softly, quickly piecing together that indeed, Amun might not even know how to eat. "Very well, let's eat together", the darker Spica then responded, sitting down beside their meal. She picked up a few nuts, bringing them to her mouth in a rather sophisticated manner. She was always afraid if she'd try and toss them, she'd miss and waste good food. She was never good at catching things.
Then, she offered some to her company as well.

Amun nodded to her explanation, happy that she knew the source of his confusion--and he hadn't even said anything. He relaxed when she accepted his proposal to eat together, watching her for a moment. He accepted the food with a quiet thank you and then began eating himself.
Eating, he decided, was an enjoyable activity. The different foods all had unique tastes and textures, and after a while, his stomach stopped complaining. He tried to identify the tastes and textures as he ate. The berries were sweet, the nuts were crunchy, and the mushrooms were a bit chewy. But after a while his stomach gave him a different type of discomfort. He deduced this meant he was full; after all, he was no longer hungry, and he felt like a balloon. It also felt difficult to focus and move. "I feel... sluggish, I think the word is." He looked at Esha. "Does that always happen after you eat?"

Esha could not help but observe Amun eating, his different reactions to the foods he sampled. Was she like that as a kit, as well, when she tried out things for the first time? She simply couldn't recall. Nonetheless in his clueless innocence Amun was quite endearing, to her. She didn't consider herself particularly smart or experienced, but being able to teach somebody everything she did know felt surprisingly satisfying.
Suddenly she realized the male had eaten way more than she did - perhaps too much for his first meal. "I think you may have been a little too hungry, and ended up eating too much too fast. It's good to eat slowly, so you'll notice when you're full easier. The heavy feeling will pass in a little while, but moving now might be painful.." she explained with a gentle smile. "We can wait here for a bit, until you feel a little better."

Amun nodded and leaned against Esha drowsily. "That would be nice," he replied, "as I'm not sure I'm able to move now." He definitely felt heavy. His limbs felt weighed down; yet at the same time, they didn't seem to want to keep him upright.
As he sat next to Esha and leaned against her, one distinct sensation stood out to his heavy mind. "Your fur is soft," he mumbled. Which was a stark difference from the hard, rocky ground around the tree and the firm soil of the field.

She didn't really feel tired, but didn't mind letting Amun nap for a little while. She would sometimes get incredibly sleepy after eating a little too much, as well, so she could relate to him.
"Feel free to lie down if you want to sleep for a little bit", she assured him, blushing a little from the sudden closeness. It was pleasant, but she would have to get used to his constant physical presence. Surely it wouldn't take too long, right? "You're pretty soft and warm, yourself", she replied to his last statement.
She listened to the gentle breeze moving through the canopy of leaves around them, and crickets were softly chirping all over the woods. From what little she knew, daytime was much noisier. It probably wouldn't suit her, since the night and its soothing sounds were so familiar and dear to her. She couldn't help but wonder if the stars could hear the same things she did.. or if they were too far.

"Sleep?" he questioned, despite the fact that he went ahead and laid down, curling up right next to Esha. "What is... sleep?" He assumed it was related to his feeling of having no energy, despite having just eaten.
Even so, Amun felt that odd sensation of his insides twisting and melting at her comment about him. "O-oh... really?" He felt himself blush, which wasn't the easiest thing to hide when he had light-colored fur and was unaware of its existence on his face. He scooted closer to her, listening to the sounds of the world around them. The wind he recognized, but the chirping noise he didn't. "What's that... sort of... high-pitched sound?" he asked, despite the fact that his eyelids were trying very hard to hide his eyes from view.

"Sleep is.. um.. sleep is another thing that gives us energy besides food.. I've also heard that if you don't sleep enough, you may get ill and.. die" Esha explained. "Right now we're awake, and aware of what's around us.. when asleep, your eyes are closed and you may have dreams - in dreams you can be anything or anyone, and do things you never would or could normally.."
Her heart was beating much faster now due to her growing increasingly flustered around him. "O-oh, the chirping? Um, those are crickets, I've been told.." she told him as she lay down beside him, catching a hint of blush on his face. "I've never really seen them, and I'm not sure how they make that sound.. I'm guessing it's how they talk to each other. It's.. really soothing, to me."
She wasn't really that tired, herself, as it wasn't even close to morning - not that it mattered on this particular glade, anyway. But she figured a nap wouldn't hurt. They were in a safe place, anyway.

Death. Amun knew about that. "I don't want... to die," he replied. "Not enough... time with you..." Dreams... was this a dream? It felt real.
"Crickets..." How interesting. "It's like singing," he mumbled, leaning against Esha as his eyelids finally won the battle to cover his eyes. As he drifted off, he heard himself ask, "This... isn't a dream... is it?" And then he was out like a light.

Esha was rather moved by his words, even if he was already half asleep. She was genuinely grateful to finally have someone to share her nights with. Softly, the female nuzzled her companion, trying to make herself comfortable as well in hopes of joining him in his nap.
She sighed ever so softly as she finally noticed him falling asleep. No, she certainly hoped this wasn't a dream. If it was, she would wake up to still be alone. She didn't want to lose the happiness she was experiencing through teaching Amun about life as a gladier.
She closed her eyes and tried her best to calm her mind. After a while, the soft chirping of crickets and the warmth next to her were the only things left, and she slowly drifted off into a light sleep, as well.
