Madeline may or may not have spazzed just a little bit at the sight of a man playing a ukelele. "Oh my god," She said, still playing, "you are so amazing." Nerd-mode was 100% on now, Jerry, beware.

Jerry laughed nervously as he flopped on the couch beside her, "Keep playing! Sasha rarely plays her flute these days, I've been itching to jam!"

Madeline laughed, continuing to pluck strings and swaying along with the actual sound of music in the air. "No problem, doll!" She grinned at him, continuing to play, "lead the way! I know a lot of tunes, so surprise me if you want."

"Alright then! Let's see what you got!" He grinned over to her before strumming a low chord before delving into a rhythm. If only they had a drum....

"Thats it, we're gonna hunt a drummer down one day and force him to play with us one day." Madeline said after a moment, her fingers pausing before diving right into the tune Jerry had chosen. This was the best ukelele/guitar combo ever after all.

She hadn't been the most attentive girlfriend as of late. Jerry had been absent more often than not, and Sasha couldn't help but feel that she'd driven him away. Not into the arms of another woman, of course; if Jerry were ruled by those more carnal emotions, it was likely he'd have hit the road long before this point in their relationship.
Clearing her thoughts, Sasha tightened her fingers on the brightly-wrapped orange and yellow package she clutched. The gift was one that she put great thought into, and ultimately was the reason she'd been scouring the halls of all the buildings in search of Jerry.
He had eluded her.
With a sense of Great Defeat, Sasha was making her way back to their room when she heard the very distinctive sound of music. Stringed instruments - more than one? With a slight frown, Sasha made her way to the stairs and began her ascent. It didn't take her long to root out the origin of the music. What she eventually saw through the open door made her feel emotions that she'd rather not. Jealousy: it'd been a long time since she'd last seen Jerry smile like that. Sadness: ...it'd been a long time since she'd last seen Jerry smile like that at her. A twinge of thick rage: why was her boyfriend alone in a room with someone she didn't recognize?
Helpless to control the emotions that slogged through her mind, Sasha merely clutched the precious gift tighter and watched the pair play.

"We should find otto and make him-" Jerry hesitated, his strumming slowing as he caught sight of a figure in the door, "S-sasha! Woo-what are you doing here?" He hadn't told her about the new room. He wanted it to be a surprise, but one couch hardly meant the place was ready to go.

"Otto? Yes, lets. And then it'll be perfect." Madeline said, though her fingers paused on the chords, head tilting back to catch sight of Sasha when Jerry called her name. She'd never seen the other hunter before, and her mind instantly circled around what possible relationship these two could have. Friendship? Love, lust, crush?
"Hey there, sugar." She said, smiling and twisting an auburn curl between her fingers with one hand, the other still secure on the guitar. Sasha, Jerry had said. The flute player - or something along that vein. "I - uh - we haven't met before? I'm Madeline." She popped her shoulders up with a slow grin and then leaned back into the couch, so that Jerry could say whatever he wanted.
She wasn't about to gate-crash a reunion anymore than she'd already had, if this was what it was turning out to be.

Sasha was silent for a long time as she allowed a few things to filter through her thoughts. Jerry was stuttering - this was never a good sign. This woman - Madeline - had been playing Jerry's guitar. This jealousy was an unwelcome, alien feeling. She didn't like it. She didn't like being called sugar, either - and she certainly didn't like the camaraderie that Jerry seemed to have with this stranger. Sasha took a deep breath and schooled her expression into something cool and collected - or as close to such a thing as she could get. "Sasha," she said in lieu of a friendly greeting, blue eyes locked on Jerry's face. "I've been looking for you." The package was hefted up, her intention to draw his attention to it. "I heard the music from downstairs." Sasha's mouth formed a flat line in annoyance. Her eyes narrowed. "If I'm.. interrupting, I can leave." Her fingers tightened on the box, the paper stretching taut until it ripped just slightly.

Jerry's mouth opened and closed a few time as he watched her expression, glancing back to Madeline on the couch beside him before he sprang to his feet so quickly his knee gave a numb sort of jolt. He walked it off, stumbling towards her, "I w-was hoping this would be a surprise! I met Madeline downstairs when I was coming back from the portal, I just found this couch and... um... I hadn't told you yet I wanted to... to set it up first real nice before... before asking ah..." He stopped short at the sight of the present, his brows raised as he glanced back up at her, "I didn't realize we had gotten so loud. Sh-she uh... plays the guitar too! And she's a Sun trainee!" He babbled as though that explained everything.

Yeah, this situation was not awkward at all.
Madeline's eyes flicked back and forth between the two, thumbing over one of the chords. "Yes, your boy here was just telling me about you." She responded, rolling her shoulders back. She wondered absently what Sasha had brought, and why this wasn't just some friendly meet-and-greet-and-maybe-play-more-tunes, but hey, it wasn't like she read minds or anything.
( You wish you did though, nosy girl. ) Arsen snarked from his silent brooding in the back of her mind.
Of course, Jerry's babbling explanation sure as hell caught her attention again, and her lips pulled into a grin, laughter trying not to escape her throat at his hurried rush to explain everything. Maybe she should help him out. Maybe. "Couches are deceptively hard to maneuver up stairs," She retorted with amusement, crossing one leg over the other, careful of the guitar, "and yeah, we just met downstairs and hey, who can resist playing a guitar with a man who can play a ukelele?"
Her smile turned into a slight grin, and she made sure the guitar was safe where it was before getting up. "I can give you two some space if you need though." She said in amusement, glancing from Sasha to Jerry.

Sasha's jaw tightened slightly as Jerry babbled on as he so often did, her eyes immediately darting to Madeline once he'd finished. Who could resist playing a guitar with a man who can play a ukelele, indeed.
"No, it's fine. I can come back another time." She glanced around the room. So he was moving into this one. Sasha's mouth tightened, her nose pinching just slightly. When had he been planning on telling her that he was moving out? She was at fault for this. She'd been so distant lately. It should come as no surprise that he'd found a new room - one he'd earned, it would seem, after a successful promotion.
"Forgive me for interrupting. It was nice to meet you, Madeline."

He glanced between the two women, suddenly panicked, mouth opening and closing a few times before reaching to try to take her hand, "You can join us, can't you? Madeline's super nice, she likes music too! We.. we could have a little housewarming party right? In honor of our new couch?" He pressed, smiling as encouragingly as he could, hoping she would get the hint. "Do you like it?" His expression turned shy again before glancing back to his new friend. "Madeline, Sasha is the flutist I told you about! She's amazingly talented." At that he beamed at her proudly. Sasha's sour mood was not going to ruin his joy at meeting another talented musician.

She was leaving? Wait, shouldn't it have been the other way around?
Perking a bit at Jerry's words, Madeline pushed her fingers together and grinned at them both. "Yes, you should definitely stay!" Maybe she was helping Jerry gang up on the poor girl, but hey, who could deny a house-warming/couch-loving party? "And I love music - you do too, right?" She beamed at Jerry before returning her attention to Sasha. "I've never really met a flutist before, but its neat to see so many musicians around here."
She bobbed her head appreciatively. "We should all play together sometime."
It wasn't that she didn't notice Sasha's less enthusiastic mood, but hey, didn't music always lighten everything up?

Jerry shifted in the uncomfortable awkward pause between the two women before finally doing what instinct demanded he do. He carefully, gently, nabbed Sasha around the waist to give her a raspberry against her neck. "Do I need to get out a kazoo for you? Someone broke the tambourine but it still works- Come jam with us!"
