As he swam forwards, He found a patch of coral which secured a second fragment, but upon approaching it, he was surrounded by gas. He swam away from the gasp, but not without inhaling it. His mind began to become fuzzy, until he realized he had forgotten something important. He had a task to complete, and he alone was able to. He could trust no one else to help him, for they had all betrayed his trust. The only thing that could help him now was the fragments...they understood him

This was the only acceptable answer, and she said it so vehemently, there could be no doubt in anyone's mind how she felt. She would go to her grave cursing that suave, sadistic, egocentric playboy with her last breath, and nothing would make Robert's sudden lovely-dovey infatuation with that man ok. No amount of sweet-talking, no pet names, no coddling or puppy-eyes. Giving her husband a dark, flat look which expressed all of this in a single expression, Petra turned without another word, swimming off in a different direction, towards a shard she had thought she'd seen Ofelia snatch up earlier. Reaching to grab for it with her teeth, the death trainee gave a look of utter surprise as a shock of pure electricity suddenly coursed through her, nose to tail, seizing her entire body.
Where puppy-eyes wouldn't work, electrocution, apparently, was a viable option.

When Petra started to swim away, Robert gave the area one last, desperate look for Dr. H, before doggypaddling off to follow her. "Wait, baby, please, stop-"
He jolted when he watched her sizzle, and one eye closed as he winced, remembering the feeling. At least she didn't look mad anymore, though she still looked kind of..

Another fragment appeared in his path, surrounded by even more corals. Their toxic gas only added to his confusion, then to his hatred. No one else was trustworthy, they would only hurt him in the end.
He curled around his shard protectively, letting their voices sooth him

Petra's body twitched a little, even after the electricity ebbed, muscle spasms overtaking her as she tried to reorient herself. Which probably looked pretty hilarious, all things considered. Luckily, they were in water, so she couldn't quite fall on her face when her legs stopped working, but she did kind of look kind of shell-shocked. Every few seconds, a muscle in her shoulder or leg or tail or neck would twitch, and she would almost curl in on herself, her expression looking half pained, half comically surprised by the involuntary action, twisting in all sorts of odd expressions.
It took a few minutes, but she finally got her body to listen to what her mind had to say and stop seizing up every time she tried to walk/swim. Shooting Robert a look that let him know she was still angry with him, the cat-hunter sniffed at him, ignoring her husband completely as she swam instead towards another shard, deciding she would do the worst thing she could possibly do to him and focus entirely on the mission.
This time, she didn't even have to grab the thing -- opening her mouth to try to grab it, the shard shocked her just as she was leaning in, the force throwing her roughly backwards through the water (and, incidentally, a REAL crystal,) a short distance away.
"O--" twitch "--Kay, yo--" twitch "--ou win, I lo--" twitch "--ove Doctor H to--" twitch "--oo, no more shocking ple--" twitch "--ease."
Sorry Robert, there's a chance your wife might now have brain damage.

Mei wished. She wished. THAT AT LEAST ONE TIME SHE GOT TO DECIDE WHEN SHE WAS GOING TO GET SUCKED INTO ANOTHER DIMENSION OR OTHER THINGY.
The splash of cold water was...awakening to say the least. She couldn't say refreshing because this whole fiasco was neither refreshing or cool. Not cool man.
She struggled to reach any kind of surface, the break way and have her mini's body able to take a breath. But after a moment she realized that the water didn't seem to be drowning her at all....strange.
Her attention soon turned to the castle and all the little critters and oddities surrounding it.

A nearby sparkling drew her attention most as it glittered near a flcikering television. She had seen these fragments before. And as she neared to reach out and snatch it a shock ran through her body. She floated there motionless for a second as she watched the fragment fade and disappear.

After a few moments she reappeared, feeling...somewhat refreshed. Though almost like the outer edges of her being were on fire.
That hadn't been fun...

Mei was quite determined now to get one, at least ONE of those darn shards. Spinning around, she spotted the nearest one and scrambled to it. Grabbing it with her tiny paws and holding it close to her in case it got any bright ideas.
That was an odd noise for it to be making.

Both of Roberts eyes winced shut when Petra was electrocuted a second time, and as she floated helplessly in shock, Robert paddled closer and wrapped his muzzle around her neck, grabbing her by the scruff and righting her underneath his paw. Her admission relieved him, which was surprising, because he couldn't understand exactly why he cared if Petra loved Dr. H too.
But he did. Because he loved Dr. H. And he loved Petra.
And somehow, those two thoughts refused to impede upon one another.
"There's my sunshine. You'll see. It's all for the best." He let out a happy rumble from his throat, and began a thorough grooming of her fur. His long tongue ran up and down her back, head, every part of her he could lick - though every so often, he looked up furtively for any sign of Dr. H.
Nope. Still dead. Back to licking his Pet.

Curling up a little, Petra pressed herself firmly against the larger dog's fluffy chest, comforted as he righted her and began to groom her with his tongue. Again, every so often she would twitch and make a pathetic face, but this time it was always pacified quickly, Robert's attention soothing her now-aching body.
She officially hated being a minipet. This sucked.
... ok, not the licking, that felt good, he could continue to do that.

Was that why Saya.. didn't .. Is that what Deus was? Was that all Deus would ever be? Everybody dying for nothing. Just betrayal-- Division leaders and everyone simply lead to the same end, betrayal.
Deus .. perhaps her optimistic ideal was not ideal at all. She sunk in the water, curling up into a ball .. Why was she even here?

With a bit dizziness, Azure had temporarily lost his sense of direction, he just moved like a drunken minis, a few left and a few right. When he regained the balance, he saw something blinking which caught his attention. It was another fragment! The little thing was happy to find another piece, maybe he can get it this time?
He swam closer to where the shinny is. Azure now noticed that it was stuck in between a thing? The dense Sunekosuri didn't realize it was a minis, just malformed. He stretched his paw and tried to grab it, but was grabbed by that thing. The thing was like a monster guarding the treasure in Azure's eyes. He will take the challenge, the little thing thought.
Ignoring the thing threatened him with its sharp teeth and shrilling noise which is like what a lion does when it faces enemy, the fearless Azure grabbed the piece with his paw and pull it using all of its force.
MUST. GET. THE. TREASURE !
The little Sunekosuri was so determined that he finally extracted it from the thing. Because of the recoil, when the piece was being pulled out, Azure was pushed a few steps and made some somersaults, oh well, he felt dizzy again.......
