melonsoda tamcharles melonsoda kenzshinji Cool~~~ i do have relatives staying at Canada.. Toronto also..!! i guess toronto a popular place to be huh... seems there's alot of people would be staying there... heh, probably cuz there's so many Chinese people here, good Chinese food, malls... There's so many that, we don't need to go to China town for those stuff, it's basically everywhere biggrin LoL... there's lots of good and services here in Toronto and in Vancouver as well if you're looking for a warmer climate. Mind you, they tend to be quite heavily over-priced unless you know how to haggle. razz @Wiim: If I made a post about supporting/rejecting the Falun Dafa cult/religious persuasion would that count as trolling? Yah, I've been to Vancouver 7 years ago too, its more concentrated there (the Chinese restaurants/shops that is), but it's not as much as Toronto, i heard that people say we have more Chinese stuff here, but not concentrated in one location. As for the Falun Cult thingy... some people are really sensitive about it and they'll go to all measures to protect their belief, so just becareful about writing something like that >_<;;; (I was at the UT Sidney Smith building, and they were displaying some 'art' of the FalunGong people getting tortured in China, and i looked at it, they quickly rushed over to me, gave me a flyer and kept explaining junk to me... i was like "ok... sure, i'll read it later"... but it freaked me out!!!) Those pictures were just.... really disturbing >_<;; I was stopped by animal rights activists one time with the same intention. They had some video playing on the street depicting the lucid often violent interations between poachers and animals. As for the Falun Dafa cult, I find that them to be a rather odd bunch. I remember I attended one of their ceremonies at UofT's Convocation Hall a few years ago. It was really sad. The leader was a no-show and the people had come from all over the world to see this guy. That's some religion if the most symbolic member won't show. Mind you... even so, I don't agree with the Chinese government's action against them either. Quacks or not, what can they do anyways?

tamcharles @Wiim: If I made a post about supporting/rejecting the Falun Dafa cult/religious persuasion would that count as trolling? Umm....I know you like to ask people for their opinions on things to get some discussion out of them. I suppose it's alright as long as you don't cross the line and offend someone. As melonsoda stated, be careful about that one. Anyway, if the thread attracts unwanted comments, I can always have HKC delete the thread. smile

well, i'm from toronto, so of course i would be biased....
i personally think that Toronto is probably one of the best cities to visit in North America because it has so many diversity and multicultural food that can be tasted here... Other than that, we just got a CN Tower and... Niagara Falls? Which I think Torontonians probably feel sick of seeing because we've seen it so often...
I feel like a tour guide or something, sweatdrop

I enjoy their culture and all, but there's also a dark side that not a lot of people know about... it's their stress in work... that's why Japanese business people like to go to bars and pachinko and stuff after work... it's a stress relief for them or something... so i heard...

Yea, true......most of the time they really stress out, no matter in business or benkyo (study). they hardworking....invented alot of new stuff and hi-tech products. for what ? for their own glory...people will proud of them..praise them..Japanese can't afford to lose you see. that's the reason. but the modern type of people are changing now..not that tradition..

XD They've got better landscapes and such and such. Niagara Falls though is a nice place to visit with the clear crisp falls and the clean myst air. That is a place I would recommand but definitely not Toronto. This place is chaos. It's turning into a New York. crying
