Not everyone jumped at the pointlessly complex bait however, as a low sound, like breath being drawn in raggedly, echoed from the lobby at the entrance to the Dorm. While some of them had been awoken by the scream which somehow managed to be heard through a five story dorm, with massive hallways and a stairwell at the end that seemed loath to actually let the noise of other areas permeate the whole building (the creator had done a marvelous job), one person was obviously absent from the entire ensemble. That person could probably be found at the source of the ominous sound however, as he remained the only one not to jump at the ridiculous, inhumanely loud banshee shriek, because even though her mouth was apparently big enough for other...less professional things...he remained asleep in the entrance hall, feet propped up on the coffee table, not even managing to make it to his room before the sandman took him. I mean seriously, did she practice at "that" sort of thing? Shame on that pink haired...girl...and all of her night time hobbies.

Anya was in the room, half asleep and half thinking about what Akihiko said. It kinda reminded of her of some of the classes she was in. Sure she could help, but only in certain ways as to not get her in trouble with the administration. Plus what he said about the fact that she 'should've' been dead had it not been for potential. It left her with a lot of thoughts in her head. She sighed in the room they allowed her to stay in for the time being until she moves her things into the dormitory. 'Well, I'm going to be making a phone call tomorrow bout de house. She iz not gonna be happy dat I'll be leaving it. Maybe I'll keep an eye on it so someone else can come in.' She thought while listening to the small squeaks of her pet.

"At least it's quiet..."

Anya was about to fall asleep when she heard the scream from somewhere in the house, causing her to sit up fast. "Wha da?"

She got up and left the room that was behind the front desk to see Gin still sleeping like he hadn't heard anything. "Heavy sleeper..." she muttered before going up. 'Dat was a girl scream so.'
Anya got up stairs to see people...well rather calm minus a few things. She scratched her head, "Um, may as I ask bout da scream? With all dose guards, shouldn't have been a creeper..."

"Don't apologize. It wasn't your fault." Seika was quick to mutter, noticing the extreme change in his demeanor, shoulders slouching, disappointment noticeable in the frown on his lips and the lowering of his gaze. There was still a bit of a sharp edge to her words, but perhaps not as rough as she had intended initially...Grey eyes turned to look at the red cheeks, a scowl appearing in her face. It wasn't directed at him, of course; it was just that...it bothered her so much. Why though, the red haired girl couldn't word an answer. It had been a slap...nothing would happen to him, and he surely wasn't even hurt at all. He was tough, she knew. But...the thought of it being a hit directed his way without apparent reason made her...just...ugh! He was a nice person, way better than any of them there... and it almost felt like as if nothing should happen to him at all! But his luck was the worst she'd ever seen. And perhaps that was why she wanted to...shield him when possible. ... ... She really was going mad.

Seika snapped out of her trance when she listened to more voices, her gaze shifting away from the magenta eyed student and the now fading red in his cheeks, turning to look at Rose, Anya and even taking a glance of the retreating figure at the back. Once again she shrugged, not knowing the answer to their questions, and to be completely honest not caring all too much. It had probably been another over reaction over a small thing, like before. And she didn’t want to be there when the reason was voiced and find out that her time had been wasted after all. "I don't know...but she'll probably explain if you ask." the girl answered absently before pushing herself off the wall. It was getting a bit crowded and even if she had been living in the dorm for over a month... she wasn't used yet to too many people surrounding her. "I'll go and get something to drink...excuse me." She made her way through the gathered crowd around Sylphie's door, thinking of going back downstairs...and back to her room after that...if there weren't people blocking the way still, that was.

"Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid
"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."

Enough people had made their way to the third floor now that the one who had unfortunately been on the wrong side of the incident was feeling perhaps a little self-conscious...though the worst of it came at the thought that a single red-haired girl thought him culpable of some sort of indecent crime here in the dorm. He knew that their meeting hadn't been the best, and he had been trying very hard to make up for that moment in her eyes for a while now, only seeing little bits and pieces of progress in the change of her demeanor, the reactions to his antics, and the fact that occasionally she would put up with things he knew she would have socked him for more than a month ago. If there was something he feared, it wasn't misunderstandings like this one that he could clear up with Sylphie later, or even getting beaten up while fighting against shadows and monsters. He feared losing the little bit of ground that he had gained with the girl, the thought of her writing him off like all the others who slapped him and walked away despite his best efforts to save and protect them. His luck was terrible, but in spite of that they were together here, for whatever purpose. It gave him reason to hope that his luck was on the up and up...even if moments like the slap were cutting reminders of his universally comic misfortune. And the fact that everyone in the dorm had to come along and comment on it, some of them speaking directly to him with a quip about this or that, didn't exactly make it any better. But he was used to his misfortune in this measure, crazy as it was to think about it, and while they surrounded him and asked questions about what had happened, it was perhaps the least magnificent of the words shared that caught his attention amidst his getting swept up in Rose's pace. "H-Hatsu-chan...? But I'm older..."

Yes, that was the point that he contested, and the part that his low, simple voice childishly pointed out for the girl with the balloon-sized chest...almost as if he were embarrassed slightly by the overly-casual greetings, reverting for a moment to this reminder to avoid being treated like a kid. After all, despite his luck, he was technically their Senpai (or would have been if he were still in high school)...and well, wasn't it totally normal for a guy to want to look cool and reliable for his underclassmen? ...And it was so like the simple Hatsu Harima to worry about how his younger teammates would look at him and if he could be a good role model for them at a time like this...and really, couldn't she have referred to him as an older brother at least if she was going to use a suffix on his name? That would have been cool...he never had a sibling, after all. But maybe that would be too casual...? San, then? Senpai? ...His diversion came to an end after a few long moments, when the stern voice of the person whose opinion he cared for most finally broke his depression and told him not to apologize. And that she didn't consider the situation to be his fault was enough to banish his sluggish sadness like a spell and fill him with that perpetual energy and sturdiness that characterized him so strongly.

"A...aa! Thanks," his small smile was all Seika would need to know to see that her words hadn't been spent in vain, and even as she built herself up with that invisible wall she placed between herself and others, the university student was content in knowing that she had been willing to lower it...if only for a moment...to help him. That in and of itself spoke more volumes about her as a person than words she would say over the course of ten days. Yes, he was grateful. And when she began to walk down towards the stairs and excused herself to get a drink, the magenta-eyed boy took the opportunity to run his sleeve over his cheek (as if doing so could wipe away the slap mark that was already fading) and follow after a moment later, that easy-going smile finding its way to his features again. "Aa, Rose...tell Sylphie that I'm sorry for forgetting to knock," the teen told her seriously over his shoulder, nodding once with that half-smile upon his lips before walking away entirely, leaving them to consider exactly what might have happened based on his comment about 'forgetting to knock'...which could imply much more than it actually did, if anybody's minds were firmly in the gutter. Not likely with this bunch, but you never knew. And with that he was onto the stairs behind the girl with her slate gray eyes, her stern expression...but even her dour mood couldn't detract from his suddenly bright disposition, the relieved smile upon his lips. "Aa, Seika..." he began as he fell into stop beside her on the stairs, glancing at her out of the corner of his gaze, "If you like, I could make brew you something to drink..." It was as much an offer of contrition as it was another attempt to perhaps win favor, of course, as he always did. ...An attempt that involved him using appliances in the kitchen, at that.

...Some guys never learn. But then, it wasn't like being earnest was the worst quality a guy could have, right?

Thankfully no one had been attacked, there was no intruder inside the building, and everybody was safe. It was a thought that crossed the fiery haired girl's mind only for a fraction of a second before it was pushed aside by the stronger thought that she had been startled and moved from her comfortable seat for something as insignificant...or well, at least that is what she thought. She didn't really know why Sylphie had screamed for the first time, but...if she looked fine, and had been energetic enough to go around screaming even more and hitting teammates that had been there to help...yeah...it probably wasn't all that too important. Either way, it was over now and she could go back to her own thoughts and alone time. For a little time at least. Or not. It wasn't long after she had walked down the first few steps that she heard steps coming her way, a familiar voice making her to shift her slate gaze back a bit. A small sigh escaped her lips as she stepped a bit to the side to give him more space, eyes once again returning to the dark staircase in front of her. Somehow, she found out she wasn't bothered by his presence, if anything, a small part of her had been hoping he would accompany her back downstairs. But she would deny it if anybody were to ask...Violently.

She could only make out the outline of his face in the dark, but she could hear his voice clear, and despite the annoyed feeling that kept close to her after the pinkette's little act, the girl could feel her mood lightening, if only a bit. And that was when she listened to what he was saying. "Hatsu..." Seika stopped on her tracks, turning to face him with an arched eyebrow and an expression that was incredulous. "It's still the Dark Hour. Nothing works, remember?" Her voice was flat, but if one were to listen very carefully, they would find a tiny bit of amusement mixed in there as well. "Thanks though." the girl continued, resuming her descent to the first floor. And almost as if trying to save some of her usual harsh reputation, she added "And even if it wasn't, I don't think I could risk you going inside the kitchen." Sadly...it sounded more like a tease than an anything else.

Alert! Alert! Alert!

"...ome in. Damn it Akihiko, I've got people down here. Come in! This is Director Talbot of the Mist Wall!" The alarms in the Meeting Room were going off wildly as a voice came in over the intercom, the screen turning on to reveal the face of someone who'd seen better days. "We've got a Code Pink! The Clown Shoes Contingency is in effect! Repeat, Pazzia's attacking the Mist Wall! All available Shadow Ops needs to report back to headquarters! And Sanada...we might need your trainees, too. It's pretty bad, nearly every agent of the Mist Wall was on duty today, and we've fallen hook, line, and sinker for the Mime's trap. Please note, wear earplugs. This song is *#$&#xin;g terrible!" Static filled the screen, and moments later the message ended without warning, as if someone were interfering with the signal before anymore information could leak out. Although Akihiko was absent, someone had been ordered to stay in the Meeting Room to monitor Colm all night to receive the message. That someone was now balling his fist in determination...

"Aah, I'll help." Hatsu slammed his fist in the dorm's alarm, sending a signal for everyone present to report to the Meeting Room immediately. "Our first real mission. I'll repay his faith in me."User Image

Rirouku Muramaro
And, in a flash, a dash of Silver practically burst the door down as he stood, holding his Soul-Eater at the ready.
"What's the Situation?!" Rirouku called out loudly and abruptly, giving off as serious a look as he could. However, anyone who noticed him would see that....something was different about him...
...
Was he using a new sword? Or perhaps a different outfit? Either way, he stood silently, and stoically, aiming to try to appear as the badass, ready to fight!....Whatever it was he'd have to fight.

Weston Smith

"What's going on? Did you trigger the alarm or something Hatsu?" Weston didn't seem to quite grasp what was going on as he walked out of the Chairman's office, a bag in each arm filled with goods from inside. Come to think of it, the fact that the Chairman's room in back of their Meeting Room was open at all was unusual, since only Akihiko had a key to his own office. "Nobody's coming, right? Remember Hatsu, as a lookout man you have to warn me if you see anyo-o-...uh..." Weston's words trailed off as he spotted Rirouku, smoothly side-stepping until he was over next to Hatsu. "The hell's he doing here? Alright, you be a decoy and I'll make off with the goods, then we'll meet up at-" Once Weston had moved, the back room became clearer. The mystery of the opening door was a lot clearer now that the lock was visible, and obviously pried open, and the room behind it looked like it had been rummaged through for anything valuable. Putting two and two together might have led to some misleading conclusions, but surely Hatsu could explain how Weston had just offered to 'clean out' Akihiko's office for him, and how he was just thoroughly 'looking for any dirt (on Akihiko)'. And the bags in his hands! Now come to think of it, just what was he taking from the office of their team leader, who everyone knew was a bit at odds with Weston? Well, uh, that wasn't important! "Say, what's with all this ringing, anyways? Makes me wanna rip my own ears off. And why are all of you here?" Weston asked, finally getting around to the fact that everyone was here. Now he was no ace detective (in fact quite the opposite), but all the goonies getting together probably meant something more than Weston's sticky finger habit getting found out...maybe he could distract them with that while he went to dump off all this junk he'd found at a Pawn Shop. He had to recoup all the doe he'd lost thanks to their currently absent boss somehow, and the fact that Akihiko was out on a mission, not expected to return soon meant he had plenty of time to pull of this crime and blow this town before he got caught. Or, you know, he'd get caught. He didn't really worry about getting seen that much, since it just added the thrill of the chase to his profession!

Sylphie

"What's going on!?" Sylphie asked as she threw open the door to the room. The girl was clad in a t-shirt and something that was about halfway between short pants and short shorts... in other words, fairly normal casual wear, since she spent a lot of time inside the dorm, though throughout the day she'd been going nuts inside her room and hadn't come down for breakfast or lunch. For those who knew this particular girl, that was something of a worrying sign. She didn't usually miss meals, even if she was making her own, but she'd been in a very, very strange mood since the night before. Still, it might've helped if she'd at least put some shoes on, 'cuz if they were going anywhere, barefoot probably wasn't the best choice.

"Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid
"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."

This was bad news...very bad news. While Akihiko had told them that he was working with Mitsuru Kirijo and the others in Iwatodai as well as their group in Inaba, he had never mentioned anything about the Shadow Operatives or this Mist Wall facility out in that area during their briefings before now. He supposed that this was just the evolution of their mission, but if this group that was calling the Dorm was one more experienced and powerful than their own, didn't that mean that calling in their team (the 'trainees' he guessed meant them, since they were the only ones here) was just the sort of desperate measure that meant things were in bad, bad shape out there? ...Thinking about it only made his head spin; Hatsu had always been more of the type to take action than to think things over too deeply, anyway. From what he could glean from the message before he had slammed his fist on the alarm, the director of the Mist Wall facility was calling for emergency assistance from Akihiko (who wasn't present) and requesting the presence of the SEES-2 team to help fight off an attack from a man that he was familiar with from the briefings but had never met in person. The name Zazi Pazzia set off unpleasant warning bells in his head and sent a sickly rush through him, adrenaline pooling in his arms as his stomach twisted. It was one of the leaders of their enemies, a man who killed and experimented with shadows and humans for fun. He was an enemy who needed to be taken down.

It had finally come...the moment they had been training for.

"Aa..." he couldn't find the words to explain to Weston in the middle of his 'heist' what was happening, nor did he notice the bag, but when the others started bursting in, he gathered his wits and stood facing them, realizing for the first time that all of these younger people were in the dark and he...their senpai...was the one they were looking to for answers. For a moment, he almost felt like a leader. So he took that feeling and nodded once, recovering his composure before he spoke to them in his calm, simple voice. "Aa, it's a mission. Strega is attacking in Iwatodai and they need help. ...I'm going." He wasn't the sort to explain motives or go into detail, and he couldn't have given them much more insight even if he wanted to. He was a fighter, plain and simple, and he let his heart lead him wherever it drew him. And his heart was telling him to go to Iwatodai and answer this call no matter how dangerous it might have been. Magenta eyes found the others; he asked them himself, giving them the choice whether or not to go along with the plan. He wasn't the leader, no matter the position he was in now, and he couldn't order them to follow him. He could only ask...and hope. But he believed they would be on board, with or without Akihiko's directive.

"You'll come. ...Won't you?" he asked simply, putting it out there...before clenching glancing back at the blinking monitor and shutting down the alarm now that the whole dorm likely was aware of what was happening, "Aa...the station; let's meet there. 15 minutes..." His eyes, simple and bright and determined, shined with his inner strength as he started towards the door.

"We'll help them..."

"That's one hell of an alarm clock.. So it sounds like someone needs our help right?" Colm said as he entered the room. Since he was stuck in the dorm all day he was catching a little shut eye when that alarm went off. Needless to say it woke up him so he got ready quickly. Remembering the Evoker and SEES arm band, along with his other equipment. Sure he was instructed to stay in the Dorm but he wasn't about to let the others go after a psychopath on their own. The green haired man watched as Hatsu headed towards the door, seeming to take the role of leader. Not that he had any complaints, he seemed fit for the job. "Fifteen minutes then? Well.. Never been to Iwatodai before so this will be interesting."

Rosealine Miina, and Rirouku Muramaro
"I'm here! I'm here!" a voice called, Rose hopping in on one foot as she pulled up her socks, and tumbled through the door.
"Sorry about the wait...Was reading something."

Rirouku disregarded Weston's comments, though he nodded as Hatsu asked if they'd be up.
"I'll go." he added quietly, before starting out of the building, intending on being there as quickly as he could....

"H-Hey, wait up!" Rose's voice called, as she staggered to her feet. "I'll come too! Just give me a minute to get ready..."
She had to prepare for battle, if there was a disturbance. Would...would that psychopatic clown be there again? She shuddered to think of it, but at least she felt a bit stronger....Enough to handle things.....
Maybe.

Gin nodded at Hatsu's suggestion. He'd been the last one on duty in the Meeting Room, so it was no wonder Hatsu had been the first to react to this sudden alarm. The fact that he'd made up his mind before they'd all arrived was just a sign of his determination, and he hadn't said anything that set off warning bells in Gin's mind. On the other hand, the alarm sounding about Zazi was different entirely. He'd nearly ruined the team in their last battle, and only Gin had made it through without losing his cool thanks to his focus on their safety. It wasn't a trick he could pull off again, and even then he'd seen images that he would probably never forget. "I'll meet you all at the train station. I need some time to think." Gin said, heading out the door and giving a soft wave over his shoulder before shoving his hands into his pockets. Fifteen minutes wasn't much time to reach the station, and they'd be lucky if the train was ready to leave when they got there.

The town was pretty remote, and it always reconnected with Okina before heading anywhere else. That meant that if they were going to hurry there, someone had to make sure the trains were 'a little early' today. If he used that as an excuse, he was sure that none of the other SEES-2 members would wonder where he was going, at least for a while yet.
"Leaving without Akihiko, or Hikaru means we have no one in charge. If we go in like this, we might end up getting separated and doing our own things. If that happens..." An image of Kohaku appeared in his mind, and he grit his teeth, squeezing a fist tightly enough his fingers began to dig into the thick cloth. "I'm not going to let us repeat our mistakes. Not this time." Gin walked down the road, making sure to stray away from the rest for a bit, his own thoughts fueling his determination to make an impact on that b*****d clown's face this time.

Sylphie

"I'll meet you downstairs!" Sylphie said. She wasn't quite as good as Eiji about getting to places quickly. She was, after all, a girl... one who cared about her appearance and needed to get dressed real quick. She'd had a lot of practice at that over the last few months, though, so it probably wasn't going to be a problem. Practically everyone at the dorm was aware of her personal grudge against Shadows, after all...

Hello, World.

Within the basement of the SEES dormitory, blue lights flashed around the edge of a large, coffin-like structure, and a hiss of air signaled the opening of the casket. The figure inside of it stood up a moment later, electronic eyes scanning the environment. After all system checks had been completed, the android had been delivered to the Kirijo compound in Inaba to support the activities of the Shadow Operatives. On the other hand, nobody had actually given her explicit instructions... which meant she was free to go out on her own. The relevant people had already been told that they could contact her (carrying her own cell phone wasn't an issue, for... obvious reasons), and her programming would compel her to journey immediately to their side on command. In the meantime... she had someone she wanted to see.
