Alex just kept smiling, though in his eyes it was still obvious that he was tired, and probably ready to go the second his shift was finished. He did catch the curious look Yin was giving him, though, and his smile only widened. "There was a bit of an accident over by the kitchen. Somehow the floor got all wet and one of the waiters slid on it and dropped the dirty plate he was holding, before falling into a shelf of clean stuff near the dishwasher. It's a bit of a mess back there right now, but since I have a customer to tend to at the moment, I just left it for everyone else to worry about."

Really didn't seem like something to smile about, but to Alexander, it was definitely one of the happiest moments in his short history of working at this restaurant.

"Anyways, the meat lovers tray? Good choice! It's pretty big but if you have any leftovers we can just take it back to the school." He offered Yin one last giant smile before wandering off, in no particular hurry now that there was work to do in the back, to ring in the order on one of the computers.

Several mintues later, a certain a**-hat was making his way out from the back, looking slightly more a mess then before.

"I hope everyone is fine," Yin said sincerely, not devious enough to be thinking about the waiter from earlier and piecing it all together. And of course, Yin was a fairly convenient customer to worry about.

Oh, he had ordered something big? He had not meant to, but Alexander was moving off, and if it would be free...well perhaps Princess Eva would enjoy the leftovers. Still, what this really did was leave him sitting alone at a table. Sitting. Doing nothing. By the time the waiter from before emerged he was getting antsy. This was so boring, and he had already watched all of these people. The waiter looked a mess, reminding Yin of the plight in the kitchen. He was almost bored enough to go ask if they needed any help. Instead he tried to occupy his time by drumming his fingers on the table and bouncing his leg up and down.

Alex would have returned quickly, but realistically that was just never going to happen, so Yin was forced to wait quite some time before Alex approached again, stopping to stand at the side of the table, eyes wandering over towards the waiter who was now not looking quite so neat as he had earlier.

"He got that cleaned up faster then I thought he would." Alex commented, sounding almost unhappy with that revelation, though to Yin it probably had felt like much more time had passed then it had for Alex.

"Do you need more water or anything? Your food should be ready pretty soon. I'm off in about--"

"Alex?" Cynthia had approached, and was tapping him on the shoulder so that he would turn around and face her. "The er..manager wants to see you in his office." She looked nervous, and was casting glances down to the floor.

This could not be good. Alexander knew that particular manager usually just liked to hole up in his office, lounging around and occasionally working on paperwork to keep from having to make an appearance. The supervisor was the one who usually kept things running smoothly. Inwardly, the zomboil was seething. What had a**-hat done now?

Outwardly however, he put on a smile, and turned back towards Yin

"I uh..I'll be back in a few minutes, okay? Just sit tight. I'll get Cynthia to keep an eye on your order so you aren't waiting for me. She can just bring it out instead." The zomboil was already backing away, giving the ghoul a questioning look, to which she nodded in reply, before he turned and shuffled off, quite quickly for him, towards the back once more.

A few minutes passed, Cynthia brought out Yin's food, and Alex still wasn't back yet.

Cleaning up quickly could be a good trait Yin supposed. Then again, maybe they should test that theory first by accidentally...Yin's thoughts were interrupted by the ghoul's approach. Yin watched the two, puzzled, as Alexander was instructed to go elsewhere. He gave him a nod as he explained his need to be gone for a few minutes, whatever he needed to do was okay, Yin could wait.

And wait he did, after several minutes Cynthia reappeared, heaping tray of delicious meat stuffs in hand. She placed it in front of him and he looked up at her. "Thank you Miss Cynthia. Do you kno--" he paused, as if uncertain of what to say. "It looks delicious thank you for the suggestion." Yin, back away from saying something? Never. As it was, however delicious it looked it would be all he could do to pick at it until Alexander came back. Even if Alexander had hid behind smiles Cynthia had acted rather odd when she had come out to fetch the zomboil.

When Alex finally appeared, it was with his apron off and his shoes held in one hand as he shuffled along, an odd look of consternation on his face as he frowned at the ground. When he approached the table, however, he looked back up and smiled. "Well, I'm off now. And I got a few more days off on top of that as well!" Really, he had just been suspended for five days due to unruly behavior in the work place, not that he could quite figure out what a** hat had said to get him in that much trouble.

Easing himself down in the seat across from Yin, he let out a deep sigh, obviously ready for the days of relaxation to begin. "How is your food? Good?" He had ended up having to pay for it out of his pocket, and had been told that the damage to the table would be coming off of his check as well. Oh well, he'd still made a fairly decent amount in tips. Working a double shift was bound to make him some money, at least.

"Just let me know when you're finished and I'll get a to-go container for it." Unless Cynthia wandered by and he could wheedle her into doing it instead, of course. Standing up again was the last thing on his agenda until he absolutely had to do it.

Alexander was looking toward the ground as he neared, and Yin dropped the piece of meat that he was currently pretending to eat to watch him in concern. But he was smiling, and talking about having days off. "You have been busy," Yin reasoned, oblivious to the entire suspension ordeal. "This should give you some time for other things."

He glanced at the food, and it was evident by the tray that he had barely touched it. "Oh yes, it is quite delicious. Would you like to try some?" Without really waiting for a reply he moved it more toward the zomboil, though it was still within easy reach, before snagging a pieces and delicately moving it to his mouth to be devoured by razor sharp teeth before speaking again. "Though I can be ready to go whenever you are." Of course, if the zomboil preferred not to eat in his nice clothing and for them to leave right then it would not bother Yin in the least. When push came to shove it was always a likely possibility that he would give in to the zomboil's will.

Well, most of the time.

Oddly enough, as Alexander's gaze dropped to the food sitting in front of him at the table, pushed towards him in offering, the zomboil found that after the days horrible events he had absolutely no appetite whatsoever. It was a disturbing feeling, and one that he was not at all used to. He stared blankly at the food, trying to feel something for it, waiting for his mouth to water in anticipation of what was to come.

Nothing.

"Maybe later." He said, still staring at the plate, realizing now that Yin had barely touched any of it. Well, that wasn't at all a waste of his money, was it? Odd how now that he actually had to earn the silver seeds in his pocket, how that was the first thing that came to mind.

"It's late, we should probably go now before the pet store closes." Thankfully, Cynthia was making her way past even as he said this, so he asked her if he could get the meal packed up so they could leave. It made him feel slightly less weird about not eating it now that it was no longer in sight. No, instead of food right now he just wanted a hug, or a cuddle, or anything really. Physical contact of some kind to give him the comfort and reassurance that he sorely needed.

Once the container of food was back, Alexander thanked the ghoul with a grin, then rose to his feet, reaching over to grab for his shoes. "Shall we go then?" He asked, still forcing the cheerfulness as much as he possibly could before leaving the restaurant through the doors that exited into the maul hallway, and shuffling along towards the pet store in socked feet.

It did not take a complete genius to figure out that something was wrong. Which was perhaps why Yin actually noticed. But really, watching Alexander turn down food would have made it painfully aware to anyone who knew the zomboil. Still, Yin said nothing. If Alexander wished to talk to him about it he would, otherwise he would respect his privacy.

It took a bit of time even after they decided to leave for the boxed food to be presented to them. Yin thanked Cynthia as well, not sure if she was paying him any attention but doing it nonetheless, and then reached for the box to carry as they left the restaurant.

Something still seemed wrong, despite the grin, but really, there was nothing he could do. He did manage to slip over to the side with Alexander's free hand, shifting the bag so that he could reach up and grab on to the zomboil's. "I do not wish to lose you," he said quietly and almost grumpily in explanation. It might have worked too if it had not been near closing time and most of the hallways were deserted.

The pet store came into sight soon enough, and Yin did not even bother to check who was on duty as he began to make his way in, pausing only when he realized that Alexander would have to lead the way, because he had no idea where to really look for the bags of food.

Alex was actually half expecting the hand that found it's way into his, and for once in the evening his smile didn't have to be forced. The words that went along with the sudden hand holding, coupled with the weremantis's tone of voice, only served to amuse the zomboil further and he gave Yin's hand a gentle squeeze to show his appreciation of the gesture, while replying with. "No, I don't wish to lose you either, Yǐn Cáng." Rewarding the weremantis's efforts by using his full name? Alex would never...

Oh wait, yes he would.

The pet store wasn't too far to walk, though it seemed as though Yin had to drag him most of the way. Socked feet did at least allow for him to slide along quite easily, so it was probably with very little effort on his boilfriends part. Alexander himself, at this point, cared very little about who was on shift and whether or not he'd be allowed in. The time he had gotten kicked out had been months before, and whoever had been working that day probably wouldn't even recognize him anymore.

Alexander took a quick glance around before pointing towards the rows of shelves with the signs hanging from the ceiling in front of each. "Over there. Third Aisle, 'kitten type minipet food'." That had been easy, at least, and Alex released his boilfriends hand out of respect for the fact that the lost in the hallways excuse no longer applied, before following along behind him to the aisle and picking out the appropriate food.

"I hope this is good enough. How many of them were there, anyways? Did you count them after I left for work?"

Yin was trying to figure it out. Alexander was using his full name ocassionally, but not all the time. How did he get it to work like that? He was still debating it as Alexander found the food, reaching out to take the bag from him. Then he tried really, really hard not to stare at the boil. Had he counted them? Really? "Oh it must have slipped my mind," he said casually. Almost too casually really. But the idea of him sitting around counting kittens as if it was fun was simply preposterous.

Still, there had been a rather large amount of them, and Fei and Lady Terror had easily devoured the bag that had had. "I had best get another one," he decided, tucking the bag into the crook of his arm that was already carrying the food and reaching out for another one.

After that it was the simple matter of going up to pay. He set the leftovers to one side and handed over the food to the boil working the counter before digging for his silver seeds. The total popped up, all but meaningless to Yin other than to be expensive (what was not?) and instead of counting out his seeds he simply put them all in a pile on the counter and waited for his change. That was a legitimate method of payment...right? Plus this way Alexander would not have to worry about paying for anything, and the quicker it was paid for the faster they could head home.

Really, Yin hadn't even counted them? Alex made a mental note to not use his full name for the rest of the evening unless Yin surprised him with anything incredibly special (not likely). Really, what did that boil do all day after he was finished training? Alexander was still mulling this over, barely even noticing that Yin had not only taken the bag of food away from him that he had picked up, but had grabbed another one as well and was making his way up to the till.

Sneaky weremantis. Being all sneaky. Alexander narrowed eyes at his back, wondering if this should count towards Yin gaining brownie points or losing them.

Shuffling out from behind the aisle, the zomboil waited for the employee to count out Yin's seeds for him and push the change back by eyeing up the more delectable looking morsels in their various cages. It wasn't until another employee ahem'd at him rather loudly that he snapped out of his almost trance like state, suddenly thinking that all of that food that Yin was still carrying around wouldn't make such a terrible late night snack when they got back to the room.

Anyways, it looked as though Yin was finished, so before Alex could get told to leave, he was already shuffling to the exit, waiting for Yin before leaving. "Let me carry one of those?" He asked, nodding towards the bags of kitten food that Yin now had to juggle along with his bag of take-out.

Whatever it was that he was doing after training it had nothing to do with math. The real secret was that Yin was never really finished with training. Even when he was not actively working out and trying to get better with his fighting skills he was thinking about various scenarios, and how he would throw someone that did that or how to best judge where weak points might be on an unusually pelted or scaled creature.

He took the few seeds that were returned to him and slipped them back into his waistband before scooping up his purchases and quickly catching up to the zomboil. They were understandably awkward, so when Alexander offered to carry one he did not feel entirely bad about accepting the offer. "If you would not mind," he commented, moving so that one cradled in his arm would be easy for the zombie to take from him. "Thank you."

They left the maul and walked into the sunset. Not holding hands and kissing as the sun went down, but rather Yin beginning to yawn, keeping himself awake by fantasizing about what they would be doing together the next day.

Fighting bears on a mountain.
