Title Preparations to Baby Room! Part Two! Lets see Neveah's design and baby-proofing skills
After buying all the furnature, all that was left was to paint and organize the room. Oh, and perhaps actually deciding on a room would be a good idea. There were rooms that were obviously taken...like her room, the kitchen, dining room, etc...but after all that, there were two open bedrooms plus the attic up for use. Neveah thoroughly considered making the spiderling's room in the attic...but then she recalled reading how loud and demanding a baby would be, and she didn't want to have to rush up and down the stairs six times a night once it materialized.
So it was best to keep the future baby on the same floor as she was.
That left two rooms, both fairly empty...the deciding factor of the rooms were the windows. Knowing the Drow who made it to the surface were usually blinded by the light and the sun, Neveah knew having windows in a baby Drow's room was a very, very bad idea. One room had plentiful windows, while another only had a single row of them, and the sun never shown fulled into that room to begin with. The bonus was that it was across the hall from her own bedroom!
Finally having decided on a bedroom, Neveah got to work. She painted the walls a dark blue that was very close to black, but leaving the floor intact; it was a dark hardwood, which was perfect. She did however, place purple rugs around the room.
The day after, once the paint had all dried, she set to work organizing the room. When she was finished, it looked something like this:
Finished and thoroughly proud of herself, Neveah decided to continue on her baby-welcoming roll by wandering off to read up on how and what to baby proof.
(( A quick Note; Things to note 1. This is a change table 2. For Neveah's note-keeping 3. Lets play pretend! This is a crib 4. There are heavy black blinds on this 5. Half is for clothes, the other half toys. Blankets are on top. ))
When having a baby, it is important to baby-proof your entire house so he or she doesn't get into things. As they grow, you would be surprised with what they can get into, and what they can do with a seemingly harmless object. Be sure to keep all cleaning materials or things with small parts on high shelves so baby won't get into it...
The page continued on with a list of things that should definately be babyproofed. Neveah stared at the list in awe...practically her entire life had to be baby-proofed! However, she knew she wanted to do this properly, and how proper can you get when you're doing it by the book? Keeping the Drow thing in mind, she set to baby proofing her precious home.
She put safety locks on all the cupboards and cabinets, moved the cleaning supplies to the attic, put covers over the electrical sockets, made sure all of her precious artifacts and knicknacks went in storage as to not accidentally get broken. Pillows were put everywhere, and there was at least one plush toy or toy in general in every room, just in case.
Naturally, the butterfly had a fairly difficult time in the kitchen. It took the poor woman seven times running away from the spiders screaming bloody murder to get the safety locks on the cabinets and cupboards. But hey, all in the name of future baby, eh?
When she was done, she stood proudly in her living room, dried paint on her person, dust stuck to her hair, wings, skin and clothes...but nonetheless proud of herself, in the end.
"OKAY! Spiderling! Lets go take a tour of our NEW and IMPROVED house!" Picking up the wand with the wisp in tow, the butterfly strutted around the house, pointing out all the safeties and telling the future baby what it can't get into, because she was wise enough to plan ahead, go her!

Title Baby Ghosting! The Wisp changes!
Like when the wisp had emerged from its spider-tipped wand, it seemed colder once again...like all the life and energy had been sucked out in the form of warmth from the wand and wisp itself. This wasn't new to Neveah now, however...and unlike before, she did not panic once.
Well, not really panicked, anyway.
She WAS worried about how the wisp would change into a baby ghost. If the wind was as strong as it was when the wand wisped, then she could only imagine that a wisp moving to a ghost would be a lot more violent. The last thing she wanted was to have to repair a room just because the spiderling's wind tore it apart! That on its own would be a very, very bad thing...and Philos might take that as an attempt on her life, and find a way to destroy the soul. The butterfly pondered on more than one occasion to go to the headquarters and poke around for Patrick or Malen, maybe even Kierla...as far as she knew, most of the people she'd met already had their spirits as baby ghosts, so perhaps they would be ablt to tell her what to expect. But alas, her job and her research kept her from doing just that, and when she did meet them, asking about the transitions between forms always slipped her mind.
So, needless to say, she was panicking, but she was panicking for reasons entirely different from the first time she'd panicked over the wand losing its living warmth.
All there was left to do was to wait...and Neveah was a very patient woman.
Then, one night, it happened. Neveah almost groaned when she heard the high pitched wail from the other room...it was so late at night, just like last time...then again, the spirit was a drow, and that meant she'd have to get used to nighttime happenings. Putting her book on her nightstand, Neveah removed the blankets from around her and stood up, putting on her slippers before wandering around her small house, looking for where the wand had moved to. After a long and panicked search, she found it outside in the gardens underneath the stars and the moonlight.
Her first thought was a tie between 'OH THANK GOD I FOUND IT' and 'OH THANK GOD I DON'T HAVE TO REBUILD A ROOM!'. It was hard to tell which came to her mind first, but they were both definately there.
However, unlike the first transition...this one seemed to be moving very slowly. The darkness and the shadows started to draw away from where they should have been, her own shadow included. They all seemed to join together in a protective cuccoon around the wisp and the wand, completely blacking it out of sight. Stepping forward, Neveah reached out as if to grab the wand from its shadowy ball...but she stopped half way, put off by a strange chime, almost like sword upon sword. Shortly after the metallic chime came the sound of heavilly running footsteps, ones that started from the opposite sides of the yard, and ended loudly and abruptly at the shadow ball. Gasping, Neveah held her breath...just waiting for something to jump out of the shadows at them. After all, footsteps meant approaching things!
When nothing else came aside from a picked up wind, the butterfly got the courage again to walk forward, her lithe hand outstretched once more. It was strange, but as she reached for the ball, the shadows around it seemed to part for her hand, though she felt nothing in the middle. In fact, she saw her hand out the opposite side! Where was the wand? Certainly she should have felt it! Panicking, she moved her hand around inside the ball of shadows...but again, nothing was there! It was a bunch of shadows, and it had sucked up her spirit!
"Oh NO! SPIDERLING!" She cried out in fear, still searching through the ball of darkness. Then, out of nowhere, her hand touched something small, something that felt oddly like very polished stone. The second her wrist touched this object, she heard a bell-like chime in her head, followed shortly by a wave of thankfulness and, quite strangely, loyalty. The shadow ball then began to disband, the shadows sliding back to where they should rightfully be. Suddenly, even she had her shadow back...but stranger yet was what materialized from the shadows.
Tickling the fine thistles on her lower arms was a fine wisp, though it was more solid than the smaller wisp it had once been. The fleeing shadows peeled back to reveal a baby like ghost, a smaller version of the spider-tipped wand in its ghostly hands.
"...Spiderling...?" She asked curiously, if not hesitantly. The thing in her arms seemed to nod, and with a gasp of joy, she gave it a hug as best as one could hug a ghost. "Oh, Spiderling! You scared me! I'm so happy you're alright...and you're so much bigger! Amazing...simply amazing..." Once she was finished singing her praises for it, she took it back into the house for the rest of the night.

Title Private Journal Entry 007 April 26th, 2006
Diary;
You know, I think I'm getting better at this future-mommy thing! I've created a room for the little Drow thats near mine, I baby-proofed the house...and actually, I was WORRIED about the spirit when I found it in the backyard! I mean, I nearly had a heart attack when I reached into that ball of shadows and felt nothing at all. I thought he'd been taken away from me! It scared the life out of me, and I...I thought I'd break down and cry. I mean, I've been psyching myself up for this, and to have it suddenly taken away from me? I'd probably go insane.
Its a pain in the butt to live alone, but I have a chance to NOT be alone anymore, even though the spirit'll be a Drow. As dangerous as that is, at least its another something, right?
On a completely different topic, since the wisp ghostified, he's been a real sweetheart. He coo's and aww's at me when I show him things, like he's truely interested in what I have to say...its a lot different than the butterflies that stay around my house. By the way, butterflies have been rare around the house now, thanks to the infestation of spiders. Ugh, spiders...but I guess that what happens when I become the guardian of a spider worshipper, eh?
Anyway, its strange...but when I'm happy, Spiderling's happy. When I'm angry, Spiderling gets antisocial and tends to try and stay away from me. He usually hides under the crib when I'm angry though. I keep telling him I'm not angry at him, but I guess the Drow society is so painful he just can't let it go that easily.
I mean honestly...I'm a butterfly, how dangerous can I be?
Hn...I can't call him 'Spiderling' forever though, can I...? I should start finding a name for him...I'll have to ask Philos for the secret files in my next report.
On the plus side, I'm gaining my weight back again! The spiders have relocated to the spiderling's quarters for the most part, so I'm not afraid to eat anymore! Huzzah!
-Neveah

Title Nephrenia and Ryvan Ah! Female!
Neph layed sprawled out on the couch her beautiful littw wand resting on her stomach, her eyes trained on the ceiling. She had been spending an increasing amount of time at the headquarters it seemed, but she was comfortable there. She just hoped she wasn't wearing on anyones nerves, except her own prehaps. Her thoughts were on the wand currently warming her belly and causing the glitter covering her face to shimmer in the firelight.
A sigh escaped her lips as she sat up, prehaps she should work some more on the room she had started at home for the wand soon to be child.
Unlike the Easter Event, Neveah no longer looked starved. In fact, she was happily back to her own weight! Ever since the Spiderling grew into a baby ghost, the spiders had been less rampant in the kitchen...but more rapant in the ghost's room. So, on a whim, the butterfly took her ghostly charge to the headquarters for some fresh air, and to get them both away from the spiders. Well, that and go to the library to do some beautiful research.
Instead however, she found a woman sprawled on the couch, a pretty stick across her stomach. The butterfly didn't need to ask what the woman was doing here, nor did she have to inquire about the wand she possessed. She was there once, she knew what it was like...but hey, it was still fun to point out the obvious!
"So, you're a new owner?"
Neph glanced up at the woman, beautiful wings, she believed she had seen her at the easter event, anisocial as the redheaded woman(neph) had been. She nodded "Yes, indeed I am. As are you I see." Neph enjoed being able to socialize with others who had children like hers, the communities her other children were from were so very much less social.
"Yeah, I am...I've had this one for a while now, though. We...And by that I mean I...are just getting away from the spiders, thats all." Neveah smiled plesantly, a thin giggle on her lips. The ghost in her hand seemed to turn its ghostly head towards the wand, and its own spider-tipped wand was waved slightly, greeting something that couldn't greet back at this point in time. The Drow baby cooed contently in her head, and the butterfly smiled once more. "Do you know what yours is, yet?" She asked, moving to sit on the floor beside the woman, letting the baby ghost float on her lap.
Neph smiled at the behaviour of the bab whisp, "Female, I believe but thats all I can remember..." A blush graced her cheeks as she wondered how horrible a guardian it made her sound. So she did what she usualy did when uncomfortable, changed the subject. "Spiders eh? creepy little things, I'm terrified of them."
"Female, eh? I've met a lot of male ones so far, so its good to meet a girl, even it she isn't out yet!" Neveah cooed, brushing her fingers over the wand on the woman's stomach. With that, she looked down at her baby ghost, a confused expression on her face. The wand was female, and yet it wasn't recoiling? Maybe the spiderling saw the wand as harmless in its current state. "Mine's a Drow, I know that...as for gender...I'm thinking its male." She shrugged a bit, then began to giggle. "If you're afraid of spiders, don't come to my house...They seem to have followed Spiderling home." Neveah laughed once more, shaking her head in amusement. Something was missing from their conversation..Oh yes! "Oh, how rude of me! I forgot to introduce myself! I'm Neveah, and the ghost...doesn't have a name yet, but I call it 'Spiderling'. Pleased to meet you!" Her voice was chimed and beautiful, and at her introduction, she held out her hand...her fingers a little longer than a regular human's.
Neph smiled and took the womans hand dropping a kiss on it, hey she liked to be weird so sue her, "It's a pleasure to meet you, my name is Nephrenia and I've been calling this little beauty, Ryvan." She picked up the wand and caressed it lightly with her fingertips. "your spiderling is quite beautiful as well."
Neveah chuckled a bit at Nephrenia's behaviour...she'd never seem a woman act like that! In fact, she thought it was entirely amusing. "Ryvan, huh? A pretty name for a pretty wand!" Complimenting the wand, her gaze was then shifted down to her spiderling. "Yeah, it's a pretty colour of purple. I've never dealt with kids before, and I've never had kids of my own...so I'm going by baby guides and books on this, and guessing some of it as well. So far its not too difficult, but I'm still afraid I'm going to severly screw something up..."
"A lot of baby books don't have enough information in them, there are things you can only learn through experience and babies are one of them. They leave you a lot of stuff, like the fact that sometimes a baby isn't crying because of soemthing but because it just needs to cry." She smiled "If you ever need help feel free to ask, and then there is my son trinket who seems content to be a babysitter for the rest of his life if you ever need one."
"Well to be honest I bought about six different parenting books. I've read them all up to toddler, but I just skimmed, you know? To get the general idea..." Now is was her turn to blush! Neveah scratched the back of her head in a sheepish manner, the other finger playing with some of the wisping swirls of smoke coming off of her spiderling. "Babysitter, huh? I might need that at some point...I'll keep you in mind, thank you very much!" Yay, now she didn't really have to worry! Not that she went out a lot anyway, but...you know, when it got too much for her. "I'm a folklorist, so if you need any research materials or anything like that, just ask...its the least I could do in return for your generous offer." She smiled brightly, feeling the spiderling giggle ticklishly in her head from her playing with the smoke swirls.
"Its really no problem I have about 11 of the little brats at home, I know it can get to be a bit much at times and few people are willing to help out along the way." Neph stretched "Now if you were an acupuncturist that I would have to consider" She grinned to let the other woman know she was joking though she did indeed have a headache. "Is being a folklorist interesting?"
Eleven? This woman had eleven kids back home? Holy crap! "Oh...uh...Wow." Was all she could say. Here she was fretting over just one...but eleven? Whoa! "Acupuncturist....no. I do, however, have advil if you'd like." The butterfly laughed, turning to dig through her bag for her advil. Once she found it, she offered it up to Nephrenia. "I love being a folklorist...Its really, really interesting. A LOT of work, a LOT of travel...but its so fascinating part of me doesn't care."
She laughed and accepted some of the advil "Thank you very much, it does sound fascenating, and really eleven isn't that big of a number, just combining mine and my fiancee's housholds into one. And curently two of them are objects Ryvan here, as well as a little hippy boy trapped in a necklace for the moment."
"Oh well, that sounds a lot less stressful, then." Neveah sighed pleasantly, leaning against the couch with a yawn. Somehow, she was getting really tired. Her fingers continued to play with the wisps, and the ghost continued to baby giggle softly in her head. "You're welcome, by the way...Its amazing how some children, especially here on Gaia, get here...it always catches me off guard. Just when you think you've heard or seen it all, something else comes along to scare the pants off of you." Laughing softly, she tweaked the top of her ghost's wand. "What do you do, anyway? Do you work somewhere?"
"I run a small shop, well two really. One offering certain services and the other is sort of like the GOTP, I suppose, I provide souls trapped within objects a home. They just all seem to fall under some stereotype... My fiancee's hippy child came from there and seems to love causeing me no end of trouble through her."
Neveah closed her eyes for a moment. There were so many strange things in Gaia...so many different things to be explored... "Agh, If things are so different HERE, why do I have to travel the freaking WORLD for a story! Raaaaaagh!" Without realizing, the butterfly vocalized what she had been thinking, momentarily flailing her arms in her intense distain for her situation. After a moment or two she stopped, staring blankly at Nephrenia and her wand. Oh. Oh dear. She'd said that out loud. Suddenly, she broke out into a absolute-zero care smile, as if she hadn't made a fool of herself. "Hippy child huh? I could see how troublesome that would be! My Spiderling doesn't like light so...he's troubling to me in that sense." Speaking of, the little ghost floated hesitantly closer to the wand, as if inspecting it.
Nephrenia smiled at the womans outburst "most likley because your boss is too blind to see all the wonders around them, or they just like to torture people. Either way really." She grinned again and ran her fingers over the wand as if to show the baby ghost that there was nothing to be afraid of with this one. "Yeah its been troublesome, I just can't wait for him to get out of that necklace."
Neveah giggled, shaking her head slowly. She may have made an outburst, but she was my no means embarassed by it. "I think its the last one. Philos likes to bother me. I spent a year and a half looking for the rituals of a village. He didn't tell me the village no longer existed...so I spent my time traveling for the scattered books that was saved before the village went down." "Oh, your wand is female, thats why he's being hesitant." She offered happily, noticing how the other woman was attempting to sooth the spiderling's hesitation. The ghost seemed to look back over at Neveah, and she herself felt a thin pang of curiousity. "I think because she's still in the wand, little one." The butterfly answered the unspoken question, and it seemed to satisfy him, so he went back to petting the wand lightly. "Fortunately, the Spiderling's all I have..." Laughing, she shook her head. "I don't think I could stand to have more kids."
Neph shook her head "well then he deoesn't sound like a very good boss but at least you get to have fun."
"I don't think I could stand to have less kids then I do, its actually breaking my heart that three of them have left the house recently. I guess I'm just a big softy, it comes from never really having a mother figure in my life, I'm now determined for no child to have to go through that." She smiled at the baby ghost "Maybe its because of the flames on her wand, a lot of people find them entrancing."
"Fun...sure." Neveah smiled, making it hard to tell if she were serious or sarcastic. "In all honesty, I have no idea how you feel. Butterflies aren't very family oriented creatures...so I never really knew my mother, nor do I have maternal instincts, really. I have a feeling I'll develop them eventually...maybe in the future I'll want another child, but for now...Spiderling's enough. I'm determined to do my absolute best for him, of course." Hence why she bought so many books on parenting and how to raise a child. Of course, she altered things considering the child was Drow....but it was the best she could do. "Flames...That might do it, naturally." She didn't know if the Drow ever had a fire...it probably would have hurt their eyes, really. In fact, as they spoke of the flames, the little spiderling was putting his ghostlike hand through the fire, his mind-voice to Neveah still chirping with innocent curiousity. He was still oddly gentle though, since he knew the soul was a girl. This might come back to haunt him, of course.
Neph smiled down at the wands "well hopefully he will remember that she isn't such a bad girl to be around, it would be nice for her to have someone that she'd be able to talk to that isn't a sibling. You know, different perspective and all of that." Neph herself was worried a bit about how she was going to take care of something as fragile as a wisp but it didn't seem as if she would have to hard a time, after all there were no reports thus far of one of the whisps dying.
"We'll have to see...I have a feeling he'll be very hesitant and withdrawn from girls." Neveah smiled almost sadly...she included herself in that, naturally. Of course, she knew she'd be the one female her drow most feared. "But we'll see what happens, ne?" Now, her carefree smile returned to her. "Ah...It was nice talking to you, but I think we should head home soon...I don't want to subject him to too much sunlight just yet, and the sun's out strong today." Holding out her hand, the butterfly nodded. "I hope to see you again, and your little one when she materializes!" Patting the wand one last time, the spiderling floated back to Neveah, hovering just over her other, cradling arm.
Nephrenia smiled "Indeed I do hope to see you soon, and your right I should be getting home to see what havok the brats have reaped on the house." Of course she was including her fiancee in that statement but the other woman didn't need to know that
Laughing, the butterfly waved her hand over her shoulder. "Thats also part of the reason I don't have kids!" For a moment, she was taken over by a fit of giggles. "I don't think my butterfly friends would stand it, really." 'Curling' the baby ghost towards her and leaning over a bit to cast her shadow over him, Neveah waved one final time before making her way out of the building.

Title Yashima, Yay, Fox-Boything!
Well, it was that time again. They'd been visiting the HQ more and more often lately - there was Easter and the walking bunch.. Oh, the fun of it all.
But now? Oh, NOW. Yashima had a DOLL. She was a pretty doll, soft and white plush, with a pretty little geisha up-do and a red yukata. Her eyes were button-black and her smile was sewn of a pretty red fabric - his daddy had bought her for him and now, Yashima was settled on the floor of the HQ's 'living room', in his little blue outfit and his hair tied up in two ponytails.
The doll was dancing across the ground with his chubby baby-fingers as strings, the toddler squealing softly at each little movement. So pretty! So graceful! So much fun! The little fox giggled as he made her dance more, nose wrinkling.
"Shoom!""And THAT is why I don't lik--" Neveah's voice, though eventually cut off, carried enthusiatically in the air; she was probably talking excitedly to someone. She cut herself off however, when she heard the shoom sound from the other room. Curiousity killed the cat, but in this case the butterfly...and she went to investigate. Peering around the corner, Neveah eyed the living room, then let out a happy keen.
"Oh! I remember you...! Yashima!" She called out happily, then disappeared behind the wall again, though her voice was still heard. "Look, Spiderling! Yashima's over there!" Like before, she sounded excited. The next time the butterfly appeared around the corner, she had a ghostly baby floating above her cradling arms, waving the spider-tipped wand in the air lazily.
Remembering Patrick's mention of Yashima being hesitant around girls, she crouched down a few feet away, waving pleasantly from a distance. "Hi there, little one! Remember us?" Even as she spoke, the ghost baby in her arms fluttered to the ground, sitting there and tapping its wand against the ground. He looked up when the vaugly familier thing wandered inside, wide golden eyes blinking up when that butterfly skittered inside and stared at him. "....Shoom?" He squeaked out, ears shifting, lying flat on his skull.
It was the girl who wasn't a girl! She was the thing with wings - like Iamel and lahela - which meant she was safe, ne? "Chocho?" The fox questioned, hands moving to hug his doll tight to his chest, gumming at the hair of his lovely doll.
.....THE BOYTHING! HE LIKED THIS BOYTHING! BOYTHING! In his glee, all those thoughts were...projected, shoved towards the little mass of drow-mist, little tail floofing out. Shinieefloofyboythinghi!Neveah giggled, then promptly sat back on her rear, minding her wings of course. She didn't understand what Yashima was questioning her about, but there was something vaguely familiar about what he was trying to say. Those words...how did you say it again...? ...OH YEAH! Having remembered what a little kid had called her once, the woman pointed to herself. "Chou! Aoi Chou" If it was one thing she remembered, it was how to say 'Blue Butterfly'. "Where's your Daddy, little one?"
The spiderling stopped hitting the wand against the ground as the fox-boy's thoughts were projected to him. After a moment or two, it let out a churr of joy that only Neveah might hear...but it was also probable that Yashima could hear it too. Lifting a ghostie appendage, the little ghost seemed to wave to the toddler, and the wand resumed tapping against the ground. "...Aoi chou?" His voice was small, staring up at her and then the little silver fox beamed, squishing the doll closer to his chest. "Aoi chou, watashi kitsune!" Another little giggle and then.. "Tousan?"
He didnt know where his Tousan was. Ah well. When the spiderling waved and gave that trill, that small, pale hand thrust the doll outward, towards him. "wa-ta-ge~ Watage, ningyo~"Neveah nodded a bit, smiling happily. To be honest, the woman remembered more than she first throught! It wasn't until the whole 'Watage Ningyo' business did he completely lose her. "Hai, Tousan wa? You're all alone...?" Neveah hoped her guess of the word 'where' was right. Still, the butterfly seriously doubted that the fox-kit was alone.
The clinking of the wand slowed to a stop again, and the ghost seemed to stare at the fox. Though he hadn't the faintest idea of what was being said or shown to him, he reached out with a hesitant, smokey hand and pet the doll's head a couple of times, hoping that would make the other boy happy.
"Thats a doll, spiderling..." Neveah coo'd out affectionately, drawing her knees closer to her chest. Well, she couldn't keep calling him 'Spiderling' forever now could she? This drow was obviously male, considering he'd shied away from Kishi, and Yashima seemed to like him a lot. "Wanna help decide on a name for the Spiderling, Yashima?" Might as well ping this toddler into helping her, since she had no one else to bounce names off of."Tousan~" He agreed happily to absolutely nothing, withdrawing the doll from the spiderling to lick at it affectionately. "Kurai-watage? Kurai hai?"
He was an eager little thing, grabbing his nearby wand and using it to prop himself up, standing with a little happy squeak. Ears perked foreward, taking a few wobbily steps towards her and the spiderling. "Kurai-watage foof!" He puffed up importantly, giggling quietly, nose wrinkling up at the dark little fluffball.
"Yashi~ Watage~"Neveah blinked. Oh crap, the little guy just kept talking! He was losing her, fast! She made a mental note to brush up...err...re-learn, her Japanese. "Uh...Hai." Okay, perhaps she shouldn't agree to things she didn't understand! Instead, she giggled at the fox-kit's antics. "Wow Yashi, you're getting good at walking!" She clapped happily for him, and the spiderling hit his wand against the ground in praise.
"But names...Lets see...Drow names..." She mused as she moved onto her knees and held out her hands, ready to catch Yashima should he fall. "Indal...Khazbin...Zasalamel...Zaharkazan..." The butterfly prattled on a few Drow names she'd read in her research, hoping one would spur the interest of the ghost and the toddler.
Luckily, one did! The spiderling keened in agreement and joy when the butterfly muttered 'Zasalamel', as if he were agreeing with that one. Even as it keened though, it floated over to Yashima to 'walk' beside him, giggling in their minds."Zah-sawh-lah-meel?" He drawled out, pouting and leaning on his wand. The praise made the fox beam, head bobbing a little bit. "Zawsawlawmeeeeeeeeel!"
It was childish but he was damned proud. He even liked it! The fox let go of the wand with one hand to pat at the spiderling with his free hand with a giggle. "Kuraiwatage - Zahsalamel?"
Were they the same? Yes?"Oh good, you both like it! Okay, Zasalamel it is!" Neveah reached down and pet the spiderling's head, retracting her hand so Yashima could pet him too. The little Drow seemed pleased at his new name, and he freely attempted to nuzzle Yashima's patting hand. He liked this boy!
Though Neveah couldn't understand what Yashima was saying other than the spiderling's name...but even she could understand he was probably asking if they were the same. "Hai." She said simply, not adding anything else in case she was wrong. Besides, he was a toddler! Might as well play along, right? Giggling, she reached out and pet the fox this time. "How about we call him 'Zah' for short, eh?" Little kids tripping over long words was so damned CUTE! Yashima included...She just wanted to pull him into a huge hug and nuzzle him! But that would probably make him cry, so she refrained.
Zah gave a shrill keen in glee, waving his little wand around before poking at Yashima's doll with it, attempting to pat the doll with his wand, but missing...more than once.Yashima blinked a little bit, glancing up at her. Due to her being able to speak 'his' language, the female was alowed to pet at the fox, his little ears flickering to and fro with a purr. His tail poofed out a bit, blinking and staring at his doll.
To the doll and then to his newfound friend. Doll. Friend. Doll. Friend.
....friend was trying to pet doll?
Yashima reached out to pet more at the wisp baby, pushing his doll closer with a squeak. "Kuraiwatage~ Ningyo?"Neveah squeed excitedly under her breath, hugging her knees tighter to her chest since she wasn't about to scoop Yashima up into a hug. That Kid. Was so. ADORABLE! Her antennae quivvered in glee, her wings fluttering to mimic the motion. "WHY are you so CUTE?!" She keened out happily.
The spiderling slowed his wand-pet of the doll, seemingly staring straight at Yashima...obviously not understanding a word the other boy said. But apparently that didn't matter in his currently non-existant books, as a few moments after Yashima spoke, he let out another happy whine, patting at the fox's hand with his own ghostly one.He was adorable because he was amazing and furry and unaware of his own cuteness. Solomn golden eyes blinked up at the quivering anteanii, reaching up to bat gently with a giggle. "Fukafuka, ne?" He was still curious though, turning back to face the spiderling. The whinie brought a happy beam to the toddlers face, fingers flexing and petting right back, almost bouncing in his diapers. "Zawsaw fukafuka kuraiwatage hai?" Sure, most of it was baby babble... except for the 'zawsaw'. He was mutilating the kids name. Ah well.Okay yeah, invest in a japanese-english, english-japanese books, thank you. "Uh, sure?" She flinched at first towards the toddler's batting, but eventually she gave in and moved her antennae for the boy. If he could, Zah would definately tilt his head in confusion. Instead though, he fluttered around the fox kit, eventually pausing to poke at the fluffy tail his friend possessed, sending a keen little chime of curiousity to his guardian and mostly likely to Yashima, though on accident.Patrick was already planning to invest in one. After reading all he could about Inari, he realized his son would have some SERIOUS readjusting to do. Yashimas fingers were gentle on the antennae, petting there as well as with Zah. The fluttering pleased him, as did the little poke. The boy giggled again, floofing his tail up for the baby ghost. "Fukafuka," He explained, wriggling it a little. "Fukafuka~"Still, Zasalamel's mental sendings were curious ones...which turned into a rather startled one when the tail suddenly floofed up! The little ghost had even flew backwards a little bit, clinging onto his wand. After a moment or two the little Drow crept forward, pet the tail, then fluttered backwards just incase it'd floof like before. Neveah giggled a bit. "Fukafuka...wiggling?" She guessed, one of her antennae lowering to 'hide' itself in her short, two-toned hair."Wighen?" He gummed out, blinking curiousl and wrinkled up his nose. He reached over, grabbing at neveahs hand and putting it to his tail. "Fukafuka." And then the hand was pushed to her hand. "Fukafuka. Foofy fukafuka." Being abandoned by the baby ghost made him pout a little bit, shoulders slumping.Hm...so the furry-thing didn't floof again...too bad! Slowly, the little drow floated back to Yashima and continued to pet the tail, finding it more entertaining than anything right now. After going still again, he fluttered over his kit-friend's head, looking at him upside down and waving his wand. "Oh..I see..." She lied, smiling as though she really did understand. After a few more moments of silence, the butterfly looked around again...really, shouldn't Patrick be around here somewhere...?

Title Private Journal Entry 008 May 4th, 2006
Diary;
JUST when I thought the spiders in my kitchen are gone...BAM! More show up! I went to get some ramen from the cupboard and a spider landed on my wings...just...ugh...! I shrieked so loudly my neighbour came over to see what was wrong! Agh I'm so embarassed...!! Said neighbour suggested a pest control place to gas out the spiders but...
...Would my spiderling ever forgive me for that?
From what I understand, Drow worship spiders. I think I'd never ever get on his good side of I commited arachnid genocide. I told Lree that I'd think about it, and gave some lie about needing money first. I'm QUITE alright in the money department, thank you. Living alone and not needing much definately helped me save a lot. I might have money problems in the future though...Apparently kids do that to you.
Oh, by the way! Yashima helped me name my little spiderling! From now on, Spiderling's name is Zasalamel! They both seemed to like it, so I gave him that name.
Speaking of Yashima, I seriously hope Zah'll turn out like him. He is so...cute...! I want to gather him up in a big hug, but I'm too afraid he'll shriek at me. Sigh.
Anyway, I don't want to live my life in darkness just because I have a Drow baby now. I'll meet half way by keeping the house dark as often as possible but...I still want to be able to take Zah with me when I go out for a while. So I've been putting him through endurance training! Okay, well not really...I just bring him with me to the gardens and stay there for a bit. He usually slinks in the shadows but thats alright, at least he's outside. I dance for him then to calm him down...I think its been working, the last few trips outside haven't been as uncomfortable to him as the first couple were. Either that or he's too busy watching me dance to care.
On another note, I'm late in sending a letter to Philos...I don't want him to take Spiderling away! Toodles!

Title Letter to Philos 2 May 4th, 2006
Philos;
I'm not going to apologize for the tardy, you wrinkled old prune. And stop having someone prowl around my house, damnit! Its rude and I resent the fact you don't seem to trust me. I can still take this research elsewhere you know! Anyway, onto my report.
After the small wisp stage, the soul seems to spread into an almost baby-like ghost. The baby ghost seems to have a mental connection with me now...I can understand what its feeling, and it keens when it wants attention. So far though, the ghost seems content to play by itself in the dark room I made for him. I think this may have something to do with our gender differences, though.
It also carries around its own wand now, which seems to have made itself smaller to fit the ghost's little hand. I found that if the drow lets go of the wand, he gets less dense and more see through...so I try to make sure he's never without it.
I included a picture of the baby ghost.
Aside from it being more active on its own...there really isn't much to report on the matter. This'll be a very short.
With the help of another toddler, I've dubbed the Drow 'Zasalamel'. I read the name in one of the small reports of captured drow, and both the ghost and the little toddler liked it..so its his name now. I've been calling him 'Zah' for short. I think I'll need to further investigate the original Zasalamel...there must be some reason that this reincarnation preferred that name.
So in future reports, I'll be using 'Zasalamel' or 'Zah' to refer to the drow...so don't forget that like you forget everything else.
I've been introducing Zasalamel to the outside world more than usual lately. It is my hope that he becomes somewhat immune to the light of day, to make interactions much easier. So far this small endurance test seems to be getting somewhere, as the Drow's signals of discomfort have been growing fainter and more spaced out than it originally was. He does tend to stay in the shadows of the trees, pushing the tip of his wand against the ground or staring at me...which is fine, at least it seems he's getting used to being outdoors.
I still intend on leaving most of the house dark, since he's still uncomfortable with even fake light.
In closing...so far the ghost has proven to be harmless...SO YOU CAN STOP SENDING SOMEONE TO SPY ON US.

Title Malen and Kishi Whee~ Not-so-scary femalething
Lately, Neveah had been putting the baby ghost through endurance training so she wouldn't have to live her life in complete darkness once the Drow materialized. It was tiring on her, but it was most taxing on the little ghost. Zah constantly sent a strain of discomfort to his guardian, although lately his mental strains hadn't been so strong...which was a good thing, in her books! Whether the ghost was enduring the sunlight (though he usually floated in the shadow of the trees), or whether he was captivated by his butterfly guardian's dance was hard to say. Naturally, if one wanted to find the unusual pair, the Gardens would be the place. As always, Neveah was standing in the sun and dancing, the rays reflecting and dancing across her black and blue wings...and as always, the purple baby ghost floated in the shadow, unmoving but apparently staring at his guardian. With a mental note to hunt down the child responsible for putting Del on a Mario kick Malen walked into the gardens. Once outside the sound of mushrooms, coins and fireballs faded from his ears and he smiled ." Your sister is highly impressionable" Malen murmed looking down at Kishi who was strapped to his chest. The young succubi baby gave no response and then suddenly as the rounded corner let loose a loud squeal. Waving her wand wildly Kishi pointed in the general direction of the babyghost, ignoring his guardian all togeather. On the other hand Malen's attention was drawn to gracefully figure "Hello there Neveah good to see you back" he called out.
Neveah heard a pang of recognition come from her ghostly charge, but for the moment, she ignored it. Usually that meant another wand-carrier made its way into the area...but considering the owners she's met as of late, it would be rare for someone to take the initiative to greet them. A few moments of dancing was abruptly shattered by a loud squeal...which naturally threw the butterfly so far off that she stumbled and nearly fell into the grass. "Holy~" She started, then cut herself off with a strained sigh, her hand pressing to her chest as if to stifle her startled heart. She regonized the voice then though, even before she looked up at the sound of her own name. "Oh...Malen! Hello...!" She waved. The Drow on the other hand, made a pleased, though thoroughly amused keen in his guardian's head, both at finding someone he recognized and at the fact she nearly fell. He still recognized Kishi as a femalething, but after a moment's hesitation he waved his own wand back, deciding she couldn't be so bad since she hadn't hurt him.
Kishi squealed again though softer this time. She was pleased that at this meeting her friend had greeted her with a form of enthusiasm as opposed to hiding like he normally did. She smiled at him in friendly manner and wriggled her fingers at him. Malen shook his head " I'm sorry I didn't mean to startle you are you ok?." Malen hadn't intended for his greeting to cuase the butterfly woman any pain.
If he had any fingers, he'd wave them back. Instead he waved his wand again, sending a weak keen of greeting to her mentally. He wasn't used to sending to others, but since he couldn't keen outloud, he at least had to try. Perhaps this femalething was a nice femalething! Either that or very tolerant. This bright world confused him! "Oh, its alright! No harm done. I only tripped, thats all." Neveah laughed in a carefree manner, shrugging her shoulders and brushing herself off, even though she hadn't fallen. "Oh, Kishi materialized! Congrats!"
Kishi wriggled about in her harness in response. Although she was solid now she wasn't really capable of being idependently mobile. Malen grinned " Thanks she's certainly more of a handfull now but also so much more fun. Of course there's still lots of things she can't do yet but I figure I should enjoy her childhood before she blossoms into a teenager and I'm the most hated person in her life." Malen had no doubt that no matter how he raised Kishi the typical teenage rebellion bug would one day bite her.
After a minute or two, Zasalamel floated out of the shadows (thoroughly complaining about the light in a distressed sending) and hovered over his guardian's shoulder, 'staring' at Kishi in her strange restraints, cooing in confusion. "Ah, I read about that...I'm not looking forward to the teenage stage..." Neveah grinned in discomfort, glancing at the purple ghost who freely wandered into the sun, only to send confusion. "Oh, you'll be getting one of those too, Spiderling..." She giggled to him, patting the ghost as best as she could. "So...how've you been, Malen?"
" Busy very busy, between attending to Ianna , Kay ,Kishi and Del I have little time add on the odd work assingment and things get tricky. I'm still healthy" he flashed a smile " but exhuasted a lot". Getting frustrated with Kishi's constant motion he unhooked her and plached her gently at the base of the tree " there ya go you're fre are you happy now." Kishi Giggled in response and waved again to Zah. Like her friend Kishi preferred darkness to light though she didn't quite know why.
"Attending to Ianna? Is she alright...?" Though the butterfly didn't know the silver-haired woman very well, she felt she was somewhat obligated to worry about her. After all, she was taking care of something Ianna literally risked her life to acquire. "But...wow...Makes me glad I only have my spiderling..." Looking as though she were mentally sweatdropping, Neveah moved her gaze to the little succubi child as she was put into the shadows. "Oh, that reminds me...Spiderling has a name now! I introduce you to Zasalamel Surugata! Zah for short, naturally." She was grinning, thoroughly proud of the fact she'd gotten the little one a name of his own. When Kishi was put down, Zah sent a churr of curiousity and permission to Neveah. When he received a small nod, he took it as permission to be around this other girl that he knew, and floated back down into the shadows after the tolerant femalething. Waving his wand to her, he setted on the grass to Kishi's right, just being brave enough to sit with her now.
"Ianna is fine but soemtimes she needs patching up and she's accident prone and well I just feel resposnible for trying to keep her togeather. Normally the biggest issue is keeping the kids from fighting." Eyeing Zah Malen grinned " That's one heck of a mouthful you saddled the kid with and I pity when they try to make him spell his name in school." Although Malen figured that chances were Zah would probably adapt to his his long name pretty quickly though he was likely in for a life of people miss pronouncing it. Kishi waved back and giggled, she was winning she was making her friend not be afriad. Listening to the adults she grinned. She could make the noise the winged woman had " Zah"
"Ah, well...that does make sense. I can imagine how easy it would be to get hurt, what with her wand-findings and all..." Neveah pondered outloud, a soft hum to her voice. At the mention of the name, she laughed lightly. "You know, Surugata is my last name...and he and Yashima chose 'Zasalamel' from a list of Drow-like names I found so...if anything, He has no one to blame but himself." She cast a teasing glance to her little Drow, who seemed to stare at her curiously in return. Spelling? What's that? Oh well, even with this strange talk of names, Zah had other things to deal with. Like that female-thing but not female-thing sitting beside him. She seemed nice, and tolerant, and approachable...but she was well...a she. Agh, confusing! Oh well, he'd figure it out in time. The baby ghost seemed to stare at Kishi when she said his nickname...and for whatever reason, he shuffled closer to her, but very slightly.

Title Advil? YES PLEASE! gonk Baby Ghost to Baby!
Screaming.
Screaming.
Screaming.
Screaming.
Screaming. Screaming. SHRIEKING. IMPOSSIBLY LOUD SHRIEKING.
If there were a way to put Neveah's past week and a half into words, that would be it. It started out as whining in discomfort. It wained to a soft twinge. It got louder. Lo and behold it was a whine of discomfort again. Then The screaming. On occasion at first, but then more and more frequent.
Then, on the seventh morning since the first scream...it became an outright shriek.
Its been getting louder ever since.
Zasalamel had done nothing but mentally shriek and wave his wand around, without any care as to who he deafened or who he hit. It seemed that whatever was bothering him, was bothering him REALLY badly...and he wasn't going to let Neveah rest, either. Since his first scream in her mind, the butterfly had been attempting to figure out what it might have been to change the ghost's once calm and mild-mannered demeanor into...well...this.
She thought back to what she had done with him recently. Hn...there wasn't a lot they had done together, aside from going to the headquarters, going outside and playing in the living room. Then again...most of the time, there was some form of light in the area! That had to have been it! Too much light exposure for the ghost!
But that didn't explain why he was once getting used to being out in the sun, though. There was a time when he could stand it, though only for a little while. If it really was the sun, what was making him go back to his screaming ways? Was he by chance getting more sensitive, for some reason? Somehow, it didn't sit right with her, but that was the only thing she could think of!
Not that she had much of her brain left too think. She could barely hear the TV on at full power once the little ghost started shrieking, nevermind her own thoughts.
How could one comfort a baby ghost? She'd read everywhere that when babies cry, they either want food, a diaper change, or attention. The thing was, baby ghosts don't eat, they don't have a diaper to change, and no matter how much attention Neveah gave to him, he still wouldn't relax and quiet down.
She'd left the shrieking ghost in his bedroom after hours of sitting there, cradling him and singing whatever comforting song that came to mind. Neveah had, however, been nice enough to cover up the windows with thick black blinds and to close the door to admit no light whatsoever...though like the previous times she'd left him to his own devices, she hoped that doing so would also relax the baby ghost.
"Kill me now...please..." She grumbled to no one in particular, heading to the kitchen.
For the fourteenth time that day, Neveah stood in front of her kitchen cupboards, her body positioned to face the drug cupboard, where she kept her advil and other such medicine. And like the previous fourteen times that day, she had the notion that advil would make the screaming go away. Staring at the advil bottle for the fourteenth time since Zah's shrieking had woken her up from her hour long sleep (he'd been nice enough to let her rest that long at least), the butterfly let out a whining groan and flopped her torso over the counter, her forehead on the cold marble top and her arms folded behind her head, her fingers clutching the advil bottle.
Advil worked wonders on headaches, not on screaming ghost infants whose voice is only heard in their guardian's mind.
Somehow, this routine was getting eeriely familliar and annoyingly upsetting.
Gritting her teeth, the butterfly lifted her head a bit, only to let it fall back down onto the marble countertop with a thud. Whether she hoped to beat out the noise or render herself unconscious was anyone's guess.
She hit her head off the counter once. Twice. Three times. Four...
Her mind went silent.
Neveah stayed where she was, her forehead on the cold counter, her wings drooped lazily downwards and her arms folded behind her head, advil bottle still in hand. It was quiet. She could hear herself think! Her mind was a void of nothingness now. No shrieking, no little noises the ghost seemed to enjoy making...nothing.
Maybe she'd rendered herself unconscious?
A few minutes had passed, and the silence remained. Slowly, the butterfly moved only her free right hand, the rest of her body entirely motionless. Her hand moved, then roughly pinched the forearm of her left arm.
"Ouch..." She whined to herself, her right hand rubbing where she'd pinched herself. Aside from her whine and her right hand, she still didn't move. Okay, so she hadn't rendered herself unconscious. Then why was it silent...? Why didn't she feel the spiderling's presence in her mind anymore...?
"Zasalamel!" She cried out suddenly, worry taking over her relief of the silence. The butterfly suddenly pushed herself upwards...
...and hit her head off of the underside of one of the cupboards.
"OH SON'UH'VA GOBLIN!" Neveah cursed out loud, stumbling back a couple steps with her hands tightly grasping the back of her head. With a growl unbefitting of a butterfly, she threw the advil back into the still open cupboard from a distance (though it rolled right back out anyway), and ran out of the kitchen, making her way down the hallway and to the ghostling's room.
"Zasalamel!" She cried out again, throwing open the door to the room so hard it nearly came back to hit her. Kicking the rebounding door out of her way, she sprinted into the room and to the crib...and instantly recoiled in disgust and fear.
Spiders, Spiders everywhere! They'd taken over the entire crib! Even though the dim light from the hall barely illuminated the room, she couldn't even see the smallest trace of the baby ghost anymore, there were so many of them! Whats worse, they seemed to be guarding it from her! They used her fear of them against her, shooting her with their spidersilk whenever she got close.
Neveah didn't know how much time had passed between when she'd burst into the room to when the spiders finally disbanded, the lot of them scattering from the crib to finally allow her approach. Now, she wasn't heasitant to go to him, she just wanted to make sure he was still alive! It took her less than a second to bring herself to the crib. Her eyes had long since adjusted to the very dim light in the room (the hall light had been dimmed, and the door remained open), but even then, she was sure she was seeing things...
There was no ghost in the crib! All that was in there was a blanket, a spider plush...and an oddly shaped cuccoon made out of spidersilk. Neveah gasped in shock. The spiders had put the baby ghost into a cuccoon! How barbaric! She had to free him, she had to get him out NOW!
"Don't die, Don't die, Don't die! Please be okay, Please be okay...!" She repeated under her breath at first, then louder and louder as she tried to strip away the spidersilk that enclosed her precious little baby ghost. Easier said than done, as spidersilk is known for being very, very sticky. Still, she tried to free him as fast as she possibly could.
By the time Neveah saw a break in the layers of spidersilk, she and the surrounding crib were covered in its thin strands, her hands suffering the worst of the sticky substance. She reached into the cuccoon, but instead of feeling the gentle wisp-like body of her precious ghost, she felt...skin. Warm, breathing...skin.
Gasping, Neveah quickly stripped away the rest of the spidersilk on Zasalamel's front, staring down with wide angled eyes at the baby boy, who was lying on a bed of spidersilk and staring back up at her with wide lavendar eyes, a few strands of the sticky thread still clinging in his shaggy white hair and on his obsidian black skin. For a moment, the butterfly was breathless...she'd never seen such a perfect baby before...whether you chalked it up to being biased or not, it was still the truth.
"Oh, Zasa..." She breathed out, carefully removing him from the bed of spidersilk to gently cradle him in her arms. "You're so..." She paused, a strange look casting upon her face. "...So..." She tried again, but for whatever reason, her mind was beginning to cloud over, blocking her thoughts from finding what it was she wanted to say.
With another sighing attempt at bringing her thoughts together, Neveah's legs weakened enough to slowly bring her to her knees. Shortly after, the butterfly woman slowly fell to her side, the Drow baby being protected from the floor by her arms and jacket.
The days of loud shrieking, of only getting an hour or two of rest, of worry...they were all over. All of them. Zasalamel screamed because his ghostly skin was materializing, and that was making him more sensitive to the light than anything. The relief that washed over her brought the gentle calming she'd been praying for during this past week, and in its trail came the exhaustion her body felt, the demand for rest.
Now that Zasalamel had materialized, her mind and body believed it was alright to rest now.
With her body curled protectively around her young, as if to protect him from the world and the light from the hallway, The new Mother and the new Baby had fallen quickly asleep on the floor, both exhausted from the stressful past week.

Title Waking to a Baby! Oh, so pretty~
A few hours after falling asleep with the newly formed Zasalamel in her arms, Neveah was woken by a slap to the face. Literally.
Zasalamel was babbling quietly to himself, but as he did, he was trying to move his limbs to get used to his new body. Unfortunately, like any infant, he had little to no control over his body, and thus...he'd smacked Neveah without meaning too. When he noticed that the female-creature who held him had awoken from his accidental hit, the baby sucked in the very first lung full of air...
...And started to wail. Loudly.
Neveah, who was at first rubbing her cheek from the surprisingly powerful smack for someone his size, was quickly moved into a panic when the black child started to cry. Scrambling, she pulled herself into a seated position, cradling the baby in her arms.
"No! Nononononononono! Don't cry! Please don't cry! Whatever I did I didn't mean to and ahhhh...Don't cryyy~!" Neveah whined back at the baby; she didn't know what to do in this situation! But no matter what she said or how frantically she said it, Zasalamel just wouldn't stop crying.
She had to admit though, it was cute the way he balled his little fists when he was crying. Wait...fists!
"Ooh...Zasalamel, are you...apologizing...?" The butterfly questioned hesitantly, as if unsure of what was really going on. He'd only started to cry once she woke up...and even she had to admit he sounded strangely apologetic, though he was crying. "Oh Zaaah...Its okaaaay~ It didn't hurt. Please stop crying now, its alright!" She keened out, attempting to cheer up the little drow. When that didn't work right away, the butterfly then attempted to find other ways to cheer him up...like tickling his sides, or his chubby tummy.
While that seemed to improve his mood with a few oddly placed giggles, it still didn't work in the long run...he did keep crying. Then, out of desperation, Neveah started to pat the baby's head lightly, hesitantly.
"Oh hey...you've got really soft hair..." She breathed out in awe, then went on to play with that snow white mop the drow possessed. As she played with his hair though...the drow became more and more quiet, until he'd stopped crying completely.
"...Eh? Its quiet...Oooh! Zasalamel! You like this huh?" She purred out, continueing to play with the drowsy ((haha)) infant's hair. After a minute or two, she heard the little rumbling of a little stomach, followed shortly by a whine of discomfort.
Getting the hint, Neveah stood up and smartly dressed Zasalamel in his diaper (it was nighttime, so he didn't need much on, so she figured), then went to go feed the little drow for the very first time.

Title Yashima Pile of Affectionate chewing!
"Ah ay-ay-to.." Yashi intoned in his broken English, nose wrinkling roughly. He didn't LIKE this new language his daddy was making him learn. But his hands pressed dutifully together before parting, pressing against Patricks palm. "Oo ay-ay-to, fee ay-ay-to, fow..." Patrick was playing 'One Potatoe, two potatoe, three potatoe, four' to Yashi, trying to teach the child some english but... Yashi could speak Japanese MUCH better then he could English. Hell, he wasn't sure if the kid WAS speaking English at the moment. At the moment, they were settled in the back room of the Head Quarters, with the television in the background, on the floor with their legs crossed. "That's right, Yashi~ One potatoe~" "Ah ay-ay-to." The kitsune nodded, abandoning his father to grab at his geisha doll. "Dorii?"
He'd screamed, He'd flailed, He'd scared her nearly to death AND he was the cause of the bruising on her forehead that was only starting to fade away....but all that didn't matter anymore, he was here! And, like any proud Mother would, Neveah was going to show him off. Stop one? The Headquarters! Attempt one was foiled by the shrieking of the little boy when Neveah, who forgot for a moment what her son was, stepped outside without putting any sort of protective anything on him (aside from diaper and a thin blanket). Attempt two was foiled by her own stupidity...she lost her own shoes. And now, on attempt three, she'd finally gotten out of the house without a complaint. The butterfly dug out a small snap-together blanket that could double as a hooded robe and used that to shadow the spiderling's sensitive skin, and she tied a piece of cloth around his eyes so he didn't have to suffer from sensitive eyes. Okay, at attempt three and a half (it was embarassing to call it four, damn being lost!) she finally made it to HQ, and Zasalamel had long since fallen asleep in her arms from the uh...detour. Instead of calling out, she followed the curious noise of what may or may not have been english to the back room, leaning her head to the side once she made it through the doorway. "Whoa, you two again? Do you ever leave the headquarters?" She teased with a giggle, shifting the baby in her arms to make herself more comfortable.
"Fee ay-ay-to!" Yashi squealed back at her, twisting around to face the butterfly. Little arms waved at her, beaming towards her. "Fee! Ay-ay-to! Yashi ay-ay-to! Hai~?" Patrick grinned, scooping up his son and standing with a little groan. The fox rested on the bulge of his fathers stomach, wide golden eyes turning to the little bundle in neveahs arms. "Yashi likes visiting here a lot. Home makes him nerv--" "Kuraiwatage!" Yashi was demanding now, writhing in his fathers hold, throwing his arms out at the little drow. "Watage!"
"...Fee ay-ay-to?" Neveah blinked back at the squealing boy. "Uh...Aoi Chou doesn't understand..." She said simply, before turning her attention back to Patrick. "Makes him nervous?" She repeated questioningly, then went onto other matters. "Eh? Oh, Hai...Kuraiwatage nemuru" Well, she knew that word too...for whatever reason, the word to sleep was just fun to say, so she remembered it. Neveah was proved a liar though, once the little package of redish robes started to wiggle and yawn with the noise. "Uh...nevermind." "Yashi wanna come see?" Neveah coo'ed out softly, moving to sit on the floor and to place the little drow on her lap. "He's too sensitive to light, even fake light..." She partially complained to Patrick and the little fox, moving the 'hood' of Zasalamel's blanket-robe to show his blindfolded, obsidian and baby-chubby face. Instantly little chubby hands came up to paw at his own face, whining pathetically in discomfort. This was not nice to wake up to!
"Then we can turn the fake light off." He blinked back with a faint smile. "Yashi has decently good eyes in teh dark and it's rather dim." The dark man set his toddler on the ground before striding to the wall, searching for a light switch. "Aoi chou ga~ Watage~ Kuraiwatage~" He was just blathering now, letting his doll go to crawl over towards the child in question. What was this? This was the black darkthing wasn't it? It smelled the same and felt the same but... it was different. it was like HIM! Fingertips moved, right as the lightswitch clicked off and a near-pitch black overset the room, to pull at Zah's blindfold. "Kurai?"
"Hai Hai." Neveah smiled down at Yashima as he blathered, feeling the need to entertain the kid's seemingly random words. She heard Patrick, but she didn't see him move to go find the light switch...well, not until the room fell into almost-darkness "Oh, I didn't mean to make you turn off the light..." Neveah pouted a bit, hoping she didn't pressure the pregnant man into anything.
If anything were to come from the almost-darkness, it was the thin, happy keen of a small little baby. Yashima's pulling on his blindfold accidentally pulled it right off of him, and the little drow stared at the other boy with big purple eyes. "...Buuuurah!" He decided with a giggle, making grabby hands for the kit he remembered playing with.
Yashi just stared right back, perplexed by this new little...development. It WAS the kurai watage, yes yes it was! Those grabby hands were NOT mean hands, and the toddler gave a little quiet squeak himself, moving to gnaw softly on the dark babys fingers. "Zawsaw, hai?" See? He could comprehend things! "Well, it's more comfy for the kid, isn't it? Don't worry...there's nothing really to fall on.." Patricks voice was amused through the darkness, shuffling over and towards the three of them once more. "What's his name?"
Zasalamel's flexing fingers slowly went to a stop once Yashi started gnawing on them. What was this strange sensation? He let out a confused 'Buh' before letting Yashi have one of his hands, and bringing the other back to his own mouth so he could try gnawing on himself too. To see how it tastes, of course~! "Monkey see Monkey do~" Neveah giggled out softly, just barely able to make out what the baby and toddler were doing. "Hai, Zasa." She confirmed to Yashima, before looking up to search the darkness for Patrick. "Well...alright...if you say so." She replied, in regards to the last part of the man's comment. "Oh, his name is Zasalamel. He and Yashi agreed on it, so its his."
Yashi giggled at the taste of the others digits and the utter lack of...non wriggling? His brothers always wriggled their fingers! This one must not be a brother. The fox leaned back, sticking one of his hands into that little hood, fingertips petting at Zah's head with a squeak. "Fukafuka, haaaaaaaai, Zawssaaaaw~" Patrick grinned, moving slowly, carefully down to sit near her and the children. "Zasalamel? Couldn't pick a longer name, could you, Neveah?"
Zah squealed in surprise when someone started petting him, wiggling a bit in defiance until he realized...wait! This is that Yashi-Fox-Friend-ishthing too! Blinking his big eyes, he stared at the hand that Yashi had once been gnawing on, wondering how the kit went from hand-chewing to petting. Magic...! He let out a coo of awe. Neveah stuck out her tongue, though it was probably unseen. "Not true! I could have called him Zaharkazan. I wanted to call him Indal, but noooo...he seemed happy with Zasalamel." She paused for a moment, then teased. "But if its too long for you, Zah or Spiderling work just as well~"
Yashi almost pouted or teared up when the other began to wriggle but... The fox blinked back, fwumping his slightly larger, paler body against the others dark one, fingers still petting at that white hair. It was so SOFT! Almost as fluffy as his very own tail! With that in mind, Yashima flipped his tail so it was resting on Zahs lap, creening in return to the coo. "Fukafuka~" "Zaharkazan? What the ******** do those names MEAN, though?" He sounded so confused, glancing at the two. And nearly melted. Yashi was CUDDLING! Youko had said that kitsunes loved and needed physical touch but yashi rarely offered snuggles to someone other then him or Mordread.
If he could, he would have purred. Instead, he giggled as if tickled and poked at Yashi with his spit-wet fingers. Kit-thing was so soft! Fluffy and ticklish and yay! Keening again when the other snuggled him, the baby threw his arms around the toddler's head in a baby hug, his chubby little fingers curling into that soft silver hair. "Beats the hell outta me." Neveah shrugged, not really noticing her little slip of foul language. "They're all drow names I read once, while doing research. I figured it'd be best to give a drow a drow-ish name, eh?" She too looked down at the two playing over her lap once she felt Yashima's added weight...and nearly melted as well. Unlike Patrick though, she let out an affectionate 'Aww!' at the two. "They're so cute...! So opposite looking, but so cute...!" Like a shadow and a moon beam mingling...adorable, but odd.

Title Private Journal Entry 009 June 10th, 2006
Diary;
Wow, I never thought a baby would be so much work, holy crap!
It's been a month since the little spiderling materialized, and I don't think I've ever gotten a chance to sit down, until now. Maybe I'm just getting used to being a Mother, I don't know...but when Zasalamel first became a baby, I did nothing but stay in his room and stay near his crib.
I find it amazing, how one little chubby baby could turn out to be the prettiest thing on Gaia, to my eyes at least. Well...the prettiest little thing that can shriek like nobody's business, anyway.
But on the other hand...he's the cause of my lack of sleep. From what I read, babies have sporatic sleep patterns anyway, sleeping equally off and on during the day and during the night...but I'm fairly sure Zasalamel tries to sleep more during the day and tries to stay awake longer at night.
Its not faaaaaair...Whoever wanted me to have Zah must have some grudge against me...I'm a butterfly damnit, I need light! Its sad how a light-loving butterfly was given a light-hating child to take care of. This world is so, so cruuuuel...!
Aside from it being totally unfair, I'm kind of happy I got stuck with him. He's a good baby (aside from the shrieking thing and his occasional habit of throwing things for fun)...and I guess that's all I could ask from him for now, right?
I saw Yashima and Patrick again right after Zasa materialized...and holy crap is that little fox affectionate! He kept fawning over him and chewing on him and poking at him...it was so adorable! But at the same time, Zah was doing all that right back, giggling like a mad fiend and latching onto that fox for dear life.
Patrick and I think we'll be seeing a LOT more of eachother. A LOT more. We're also fairly sure those two are going to be practically inseperable their entire life...talk about Best Friends Forever, eh?
Well, because they're so close and we figure its going to happen anyway, we planned to go to the science centre at some point together. That should be...fun.
Ahh well...I'd better head off for now, I have some cleaning to do. For a baby, he sure can make a mess.
