Celandine, Attacking Kleos
With whip in hand, and a splint in case things went badly for her, Celandine felt more confident about entering the fight. In truth, she'd never been in a real fight before, but...there was a first time for everything, right? As long as no one hit her very hard - and they shouldn't, really, she was just a fragile girl, after all! - it shouldn't be a problem. If she had to, she'd just scream for help, and surely one of their allies would assist her.
Taking a deep breath, she unwound the whip and snapped it at the woman who'd hurt Celandsk.

[Kleos: Attacking Celandine with knife]
The whip stung her shoulder, extracting a yelp of pain from the green-eyed woman. Not wasting time on assessing her injury she swished her knife through the air and struck bad. "Traitorous whore, you shall pay for what you have done!"

Celandsk, Attacking Kleos
No! Fear blazed to life in the eyes of the wher as his handler was cut by their enemy's knife. This was exactly what he had been afraid of, that she would be hurt and bleed, and then he wouldn't be able to wake her, and-
Panicked, he lunged at the woman.

Kintin Attacking Fick (Created character: For consideration)
Absolutely. Disgraceful.
Kintin stormed through the halls of Malvren, Kintsk following behind him and hissing angrily. Whers were meant to protect Pern, not try to strip its other protectors from it! And to do so in the most underhanded, senseless, vicious way possible-- Kintin had never been more angry or more ashamed of the filth that had been let into the ranks of the wherhandlers and sullied their Craft to this point. How else could they have sunk so low? Wherhandlers were meant to have as much honor as dragonriders, not become backstabbing murderers. Wherhandlers served a different task than riders, true, but Kintin had always tried to project and teach other handlers to project the image of competency, strength, pride, and honor in their role as a handler. It was a profession whose status all should realize was a privilege and an honor in itself.
Kintsk clicked in agreement. Like his handler, the Bronze had always been a proud, knight-in-shining-armor kind of wher. Neither afraid to dirty his claws, nor look impressive doing it, nor teach others how to behave properly with a few good swats. They had been a good match for one another and their strong partnership had lasted for over twenty Turns.
In those twenty plus Turns, yes, dragonriders had spoken down to him before, but Kintin was not a man to let anyone, regardless of rank, treat him poorly. For all those who dared speak snidely to him once, there were equal amounts of people with black eyes or blistering retorts in their histories. Yes, Kintin was a well-respected handler, one who had spent many Turns serving Hold and Weyr alike. This betrayal was not something he could take lightly, nor something he would side with. It felt as much like a betrayal to him, a slap in the face to the ideals and concepts he tried to teach to new wherhandlers, as it was to the riders. He didn't wonder why no one had informed him of the revolution beforehand; he would likely have tried to stop it at its start.
Kintsk hissed behind him again and lifted his head as the sound of fighting reached his ears. Kintin heard it as well and rather than stopping to listen, sped up to a jog. He didn't want to run face-first into a fist, but if there was someone in trouble in these cramped halls... well, he'd come across the aftermaths of a few fights, and none had looked good for the riders. Thankfully, only one had truly been bloody, though that had shown that not only had the handlers betrayed the riders, they were thoughtless enough to turn their whers loose on them as well. However, trapped in the halls with powerful creatures like whers, without the aid of their dragons... well. Someone had to aid them, even if all other wherhandlers had lost all sense.
Whers. Attacking humans. It was stomach-churningly sickening. Sickening.
Unfortunately, Kintin now had the chance to see first-hand what his fellow handlers had wrought. As he watched, Fick followed his Green Wher. Kintin didn't recognize the tiny Gold in the hallway, nor her handler, but he knew Fick, after all these Turns. He wasted no time in running into battle, his eyes fixed on the familiar handler.
Get Ficksk! he snapped at Kintsk, and didn't bother to watch his Bronze follow instructions. His long strides had, in that short period, already brought the older handler right into the thick of the first of two battling groups. He ignored the others around him, intent only on his one target-- one who should have had some intelligence!
"HAVE YOU LOST ALL SENSE?" he bellowed into the middle of the wordless battle, giving Fick a good ringing blow to the head. "You do not set whers on human beings!"

Celandine, Attacking Kleos
The rider was fast to strike back, and the redhead stared, horrified, as the arm she'd thrown up to try to protect herself was slashed viciously open and blood coursed out from the wound. She'd...she'd really just been attacked! With a knife! Nevermind that she had attacked first, this action was completely unforgivable.
With a shriek of indignant rage, she drew back the whip and struck again.

O'thor Defending from Fick
O'thor cried out as the Gold wher scored him. Nasty little beast!
Her attack, however, gave him cause to remember there were others fighting around them and he turned in time to deflect most of Fick's attack on him. He lifted his fist to defend himself in a retaliatory attack, but out of nowhere another man-- shouting at the top of his lungs-- entered the fray.
With his new opponent distracted, O'thor turned back to the Gold wher and her handler, where Jordan seemed to be trying to keep up his end of the fight.

Jordan Attacking Kesin
Jordan saw the blur of gold as the handler sent her wher to attack the other rider. His eyes went cold. He had known they weren't playing fair, but a wher could kill a man in a matter of seconds with well-placed attacks. Jordan got the idea that this was not a handler who hesitated at the thought of murder.
After ringing her ears with O'thor's help, Jordan decided taking the wind out of her sails would be next and used the same kind of punch O'thor initially had. He needed to distract her, so she didn't have time to issue orders to her pet.

Riarna Defending Orlina from Lyret
Riarna saw the ancientcrafter turn from those who were actually a danger to him and aim for the girl. She should have listened to her brother. Lips thinned, Riarna quickly stepped in the way of the punch, using an arm to block the majority of the blow.
"Leave the child alone, you filth," she snapped. Usually, Riarna could play nice. Now did not seem to be the time to be polite, however.

Her eyes widened at the blow aimed for her, but even as she hunched up to try to take the impact, someone stepped in front of her, forcing her a step back. She looked up at the Weaver trying to defend her and then darted around the woman briefly, kicking Lyret in the shin in retaliation. Working as a team, they could totally bring this guy down!

He wouldn't last long against a wher's claws and teeth. He stared down at the little Thread-born creature and felt, for the first time, actual dislike of the creatures. How had they been allowed to live when they were such a danger?
He lashed out at the thing's face, hoping that there he might score a hit in the creature's sensitive eyes.
