Amphi squeaked again as he licked his arm, her blush raging as she pushed herself off the bed.
"YES OKAY OKAY DO AS YOU PLEASE!" She scrambled up and over to the room....then peeked her head out the door. "Thank you for healing me..." Was all she added before disappearing into the room.
Okay Amphi, breath, all of the breathing right now. She just needed to calm down, perhaps thinking of something other then Roch dripping with tea on his chest and dsklfjldskjfldskjfklsjfkldsjfdskljfksldjfdsklj.
Book, book, book.
"Ah..." Her hand ran over it as she looked at songs, Something fun and exciting and easy to sing. And not long because her fever was making her silly and she needed to get back to her dorm and probably take a swim. A LONG COLD SWIM.

That... ah... reaction seemed strange, Roch thought as he went into his bathroom and grabbed another towel, wetting it down to wash his chest and arms off. She sure seemed jumpy all of a sudden--even after being so clingy earlier. It wasn't like healing her knees was nearly as flustering as her being carried around, held up by her butt--
He looked down at the arm--then stopped himself right there. Just say no to reading strange messages into things, boil, he told himself as he tossed the towel into the tub. He needed water and to cool off a bit, himself.
So he headed into the kitchen, grabbed a few bottles, and headed into the booth. "Find a song yet?" he asked her, offering the drink.

Amphi jumped as he came back in, slamming the book shut and keeping a distance from the boil.
Talk about mixed signals but she didn't know why her body was being funny. She offered him a hesitant shy smile...
"Um....No....I want to sing one with Roch...Do you know a good duet songs?"

He picked up on that. How the hell anyone couldn't pick up on that was the question. But he could handle it, he thought, his mind switching gears in a second. "Y'know, really sucks that I had to wash it off," he said, not replying to the duet thing just yet. "I tasted like booberries, it was great!" he told her, grinning as he lightly tossed one of the bottles to her. "Here, have a drink. And I found a song the other day that reminded me of you--but it's not a duet. I mean, if you don't wanna hear it, that's fine--"

"wash...the um...Booberry...Yes." She flushed, literally avoided eye contact as she looked around. "I bet...It tasted good." Roch + booberries oh my jack Amphi just what are you thinking. Put those thoughts away. Mermaids didn't taste reapers.
She fumbled the bottle before gripping it to her chest and nodding.
"Oh...OH. A song that reminds you of me! I want to hear!!" She bounced, excited again to hear Roch sing to her. ALL THE SINGING ROCH.

He grabbed the book, motioning for Amphi to sit on the couch on the other side of the room (giving her the space she wanted) and found the song he wanted. A little grin pulled at his lips, he'd seen the title " Mermaid" earlier and figured it would do just fine. And the song started, he grabbed his mic, and he started singing. Amphi followed his motion to the couch, sitting down and tucking her hands in her lap. Her eyes widened as he sang...about a mermaid...and love.
WAS HE CONFESSING!?!? Amphi didn't know, She was confused.
Amphi's blush rose and rose until she sat up straighter, the same blush creeping down her neck. She waited till he fiinished his song, because that was polite and then stood up once he finished.
"I...I need to go now." She looked down to the ground, covering her cheeks with her hands. "I...need to go back to my aquarium, I don't feel well, I need water." She was in panic mode now. A confused and somewhat panicked Amphi was not good.
Especially when her instinct was to run and face the problem later. "I'm sorry Roch...I'll...sing a song maybe next time." She disappeared through the door and out to his, hesitating only to look at her pack full of snacks and the other thermos of tea and decided to leave it there.
She really needed to be in her own element now.

She had ALMOST made it out the door when his arm came to her wrist.
She blinked up at him, freezing as she looked at him. "con..confession?" She squeaked, Her blue eyes widening.
Amphi looked like a deer in the headlights. A confused, red face mermaid deer. Yes.

She blankly stared at him.
"I...Oh...I see." She blushed, slipping her hand out of Rochs and then taking a step up to him, her head tilting up, studying his face to be sure. "Roch still has the best singing voice..." She nodded..."I just don't feel well so um...I am going back to my aquarium so...um...I will see you at Prom...."
She flushed and then nodded, stepping back.
"It was....a lovely song though. So thank you Roch."
OKAY SHE WAS OUT. She needed to think about things. ALL OF THE THINGS.

"Yeah," he said, leaning against the doorframe as she left, a sigh escaping him before he turned and hit the doorframe with his head. "MORON," he muttered before heading back into his room.
