Jumping out of the way was a good move for Jack, but trying to counter in the same instance could prove fatal since there was an unexpected second part to the Ice Anaconda's attack. As soon as its head hit the ground a barrage of tall, sharp, jagged ice spikes shot out the ground around its head like a geyser. Many of these spikes crossed themselves over the snake's head, putting Jack in a position where he'd fall straight down onto these tall spikes. The anaconda seemed to sense something though, and without warning quickly slithered back under the marsh water, where it quickly disappeared.
Darion would turn around to face nothing, making his blind beam attack almost for nothing. Still, something didn't seem right. There was a blinding threat all around him. He could feel vicious eyes upon him, but where they were coming from was difficult to tell. The marsh soon echoed with the missing of snakes.

Darion would quickly turn around and run towards the falling Jack, He was completely unaware of what Jack was planning and the Ice Snakes attack, all he thought is that Jack was falling to his doom. So in a panic Darion rushed over and jumped to tackle Jack away from the Snake's head and the ice geysers. The two would then land on the ground safely away from any snakes and away from the Ice anaconda. Darion would look back at the snake to see it's head completely spiked up. He looked at Jack and chuckled nervously."You don't owe me for that one, I panicked...I had no idea that it was going to do that... On other news we aren't alone and this snake... It knows it as well..." Darion held his Katana with one hand and activated his Chi sense he would slowly scan the area for anything coming up. Nothing would get a sneak attack due to the fact of him seeing the energy of every single creature in the area, and there was mainly just snakes, anything bigger would instantly be noticed as a hostile and most likely the next dangerous thing.

Jack quickly recovered as Darion made his unintentional rescue, keeping his katana held up in front of him. He would not be caught unawares. He put his back up against Darion to create a impenetrable line of sight, for whatever could scare off such a creature must be a formidable creature indeed. He pondered the wisdom of keeping his eyes ahead of him, for if this creature was fast enough, and if this creature was the Medusa they were searching for, it could paralyze Jack..however...they didn't know yet if this was their query. So for now he just kept his senses open, and with it open, it was obvious they were not alone. There was something oppressive in the air..something dangerous. Good, Jack thought, yet another chance to test his strength. Unbeknownst for Darion...Jack hadn't even begun to try. Maybe this new opponent would pose some kind of an actual threat.

As the two backed up against each other, scanning the area, the actual threat sat above them in the branches. As it silently lowered down its body to greet them, its venom dripped down onto Jack's shoulder, causing a searing pain like an acid once it'd burned through his shirt.

All of a sudden Jack felt something light drop against his shoulder...and then..immediately after...a sort of burning, hissing noise. He quickly looked down at his shoulder to see his shirt quickly dissolving. Immediately his mind processed several things at once. The first thing was that he must cut off the portion of his shirt that was burning, and the second thing was that he had to immediately get out from below whatever was dripping onto his shoulder. So with that processed, he immediately yelled, "Darion! ABOVE"! And then jumped forwards while summoning a Kinetic Knife in his opposite hand, using the knife to quickly sever the piece of cloth that was burning through to the skin. Luckily he acted quick enough to get the piece of shirt of off before the acid touched his skin, and once he landed, he quickly turned around weapons at the ready to see what was above them.

Darion looked up, suddenly Darion would send a barrage of ice needled at the snake woman. The needles would travel at high speeds and follow to where ever the woman went, due to Darion moving his hand to where ever she would go. If this hit she would most likely fall out of the tree and fall. If she did Darion would quickly slash her head with his the dull side of his Katana, if it hit her head she would be dazed for Jack's next attack. Darion would be ready if the girl tried to make eye contact and would focus on her mouth area making her paralysis impossible to hit him, but begin able to see her movements and her acid poison.
Ice Needle Barrage

The user throws out one hand, palm facing the opponent. He then forms them into a barrage of ice needles in his palm, 30 in total. The needles are sent flying towards the enemy with deadly precision.

Indeed it was the Echidna, at long last, and she was more than ready for Yajuu's little beasts. With a jolt of her aura a rain of snakes fell down to absorb Darion's attack, with enough left alive to fall down at him as well where their poisonous fangs were aching to give him a taste of their venom. As for Jack, he had been singled out as the weakest of the two. As soon as he turned around, weapons ready, he'd find the snake one at eye level, not 5inches in front of him. Her enticing eyes looked to capture him with their power, and then she'd strike with a stab from her claws at his stomach.

When Jack readied his weapon, he did so in such a way that would prepare him for the fight with the Echidna. Luckily with Yajuu's information, Jack's combat experienced kicked in to put him in a stance and a position to avoid a direct stare at the Echidna's face. The fact that the Echidna would strike out at him only for her claws to cut through cold steel was an accidental, but welcome result of how prepared he was. For when he jumped forward and turned around, he dispelled the knife to keep both hands on the hilt of his katana, and he brought it upwards diagonally, close to his face and body. This stance was designed to be defensive in nature, with the blade held in hand in such a way that would guard the entire front of the practitioners body, and Jack purposefully brought the blade close to his face so that his eyes would not stare directly into the Echidna's face, however he would still be able to see where the Echidna was as his eyes darted over and under the blade in a quick fashion to make sense of what was in front of him. Though some of the front of the attacking figure was definitely blocked off by the blade, he could see just enough to make out that this was definitely the lady that almost attacked them the last time they came through the Forbidden Jungle. Luckily his preparation had paid off, there was no guarantee that what was going to attack him was their target, but through knowledge and instinct, Jack had been ready.
It was not one or two seconds until he felt an intense clang on his sword as he realized the Echidna made the first move, striking out at his stomach only to meet the cold steel of a sharp blade. But not wanting to give the Echidna another chance for a close range assault, Jack knew he had to gain some distance. He would have helped Darion, but by doing so he would have to get past the Echidna. No, Darion was a capable individual, he would be able to take care of himself. In the meantime, Jack had to gain distance in order to prepare for a counter-attack. WIth any luck, Jack would be able to keep the attention of the Echidna on him while Darion would find a way to somehow trap her. So with that in mind, as soon as he felt contact on his sword being made, Jack would jump backwards once more but then turn around to run a short distance to gain some range on the Echidna.

Darion would slide away from the falling snakes on a path of ice avoiding the falling snakes, if any of them tried to jump at him they would be smacked away with the blunt side of his katana. Darion would turn around and look at the Echidna's head. "Pathetic creature... Using petty tricks such as snakes to attempt to distract me from my partner." Darion would lift his eyes to where her eyes would be if she turned around. "Your tricks shall not work on me." Darion would make a stance putting one hand behind his back and holding his Katana with on hand, while he did the a mirror of ice would form in his free hand, He would then tuck it behind his back ready to grab it and use it as a reflection to reverse the paralyzing stare if she used it on him or Jack. Darion would wait for her to move.

This can be used to trip up an opponent by ramming their foot into their ankle or shins, throwing them over the user, or the ice left behind is slippery enough to make an opponent trip if they step on it. Can only go forward in one direction. Has a maximum range of 20 ft.

The Echnidna monster hisses but then quickly bursts away from her position. Several poison-tipped shuriken are then thrown at Darion and Jack as she disappears back up into the trees. Sure enough more snakes are shaken loose from the branches to fall down at them. It would seem the woman was smart enough not to force an attack head-on against two skilled combatants.

Raising an eyebrow, Jack wondered what exactly was the Echidna's game. Hiding and running away meant one thing, and luckily it was an uplifting thought. The Echidna was weaker than them. At least out in the open she was. Snakes by their very nature are ambush predators, and this kind of tactic is to be expected from one who shares the same similarities of her serpentine friends. However, he wasn't sure if the Echidna was hiding in wait, preparing for a surprise attack...or she genuinely ran away. Whatever the case, Jack easily side stepped the thrown shurikens and swatted away the snakes with the broad side of his sword. Any remaining snakes that would get close to him would be swatted away just the same. So nonchalantly he approached to Darion's side after he himself would eventually dodge the Echidna's simple attacks. After arriving to the side of Darion, Jack would say, "Either she is hiding, waiting for a chance to strike...or she is running away......Use that chi sense ability of yours...If she is hiding, then it is just a matter of flushing her out".

Darion would easily side step the shurikens and bat away any snakes that would come near him with the blunt side of his katana. Darion would activeate his Chi sense and glare into the woods, he would find the Echnida and point to Jack where it was and to be on guard. Darion was gonna freeze the thing soon and when he did they would get their reward.

Darion would be able to see Medusa slither up to one of the higher branches of the tree to grab her bow and arrows. She almost immediately strung an arrow and fired it at Jack's center. The tricky part was that while Darion would be able to see it because of the arrow's chi, that same chi was being used to camouflage the arrow from sight so Jack would never see it coming.

The Echidna's attack would have been a good one if she wasn't so stupid. Honestly, did she think she could somehow shoot through the metal of the katana Jack had right in front of his center? Did she have eyes? Couldn't she see that Jack's guard was up and had always been up? Jack was wise to her method of attacks, she was an ambush predator...and besides...Jack learned just a bit ago that it was never a good idea to lower his blade in an enviroment such as the one he is in. If she really wanted to get him, then maybe should have attacked in his blindspot, but then again that might have not worked as well since the arrow would make a whistling noise as it would launch through the air...not to mention the leaves in the trees crackling under the sound of the air pressure exerted on them from the arrow's launch.
Either way, the arrow would hit against the blade and fly off into the shallow water. The force of the attack would have most likely knocked him back a pace or two, but it was something Jack would easily recover from. In fact, he did more than recover, he launched an immediate counter-attack. Shooting that arrow revealed her position and she wouldn't expect such a quick counter. Once the arrow bounced off his blade, Jack immediately summoned up a hatchet in his hand and threw it fast and true, straight towards the origin of where the arrow came from. Luckily the area was surrounded by leaves so when the arrow was launched, it created movements in the leaves signifying the Echidna's position. He hoped that Darion would follow up with his attack and possibly lay waste to where the Echidna was hiding, thus flushing her out.

Another quickly loosened arrow shot Jack's hatchet out of the air. Then a split moment later two arrows were fired at the same time from a different origin, suggesting that the medusa monster had moved. With both arrows being shot at the two fighters at the same time they'd be hard-pressed to defend each other. The arrow fired at Jack aimed for his leg this time. To add to that, another set of arrows was fired at an opposite location a split second later, so if the fighters tried to dodge the first arrow the second would catch them wherever they moved to or if they blocked the second arrow would aim for their exposed area. The arrow shot at Jack in the second set was a fake, however, but he would have no way of knowing it.
