Otto sounded like he had some girl-bed experience. "Who you sharing a bed with?" He was wiggling his brows, assuming it was one of those girls he was always walking around with.
He took a long swig of his drink while Otto repressed his dislike of Gale. "It's the thought that counts.." Bix looked at Otto's glee over his hate. "Why do you act like a jerk so much?"
He actually sounded like he was asking an honest question, nothing accusing or aggressive in his tone. Unfortunately he did sound like some sort of therapist a bit, which he was not.

Otto nearly snorted, shaking his head. "Naw, I ain't bunkin with anyone." Likely he'd brag if it were one of the island's inhabitants. There were a lot of pretty hunterettes, after all. "That's from way back." For anyone older than a 17 year old, way back wasn't very far back at all.
Bix's question earned him a blank stare for a moment. It was rare anyone ever out right asked so bluntly. "Why not?" He asked back, taking a sip from the soda can. "People can't handle my natural charms?" He added sarcastically.

Bix wondered if Otto had acted like this with whatever mysterious girl he was talking about. He sure hoped not.
"Well usually people act like they do for two reasons.." He held up one chip, "They just don't know any better and can't help themselves." and then he held up chip number two. "Or they are getting something out of it."
Bix popped all the chips in his mouth at once. "I'm like this cause my momma raised me this way." He laughed, throwing on a bit more of the twang than the midwesterner normally used.

Dare Otto divulge into reasons why he was the way he was? Humour the albino with a fact or two? He hummed and hawed about it while Bix shoved chips in his mouth. "Can't say I don't know any better but I can't say that it does me much good either." He answered after a moment, leaning back on one hand. "It's just easier than playing nice." Pissing people off was a lot easier than getting along with them. At least to Otto it was.
That being said he leaned over a moment to grab a hand full of chips before leaning back again, setting them in his lap to pick from.
"Your mama tought ya that trippin' move too?"

"Nope.. bullies taught me that. Well my dad.. uh.. step dad but he raised me." Normally he would never specify but recent events had thrown his life into question. "I got beat up in school so I learned little things." As a result Bix hated bullies. Part of why he ended up getting power trippy over misbehaving trainees.
"Its not a real good time to be on the other end of that stuff for like.... 12 years." He shrugged. Bix had been saved by college. Other people who liked computers and school. People more willing to have a weird albino guy as a friend.

Otto wasn't completely void of sympathy, although he was severely lacking enough of it to go around. He had to give a nod of approval to Bix for defending himself instead of crying about it though. Otto acted like a bully half the time but it was simply his attitude and not his personality. "I find a few dozen bloody noses helped me out half the time." He inputted oh so helpfully. "Not that I was bullied, but school yards have a lot of punk a** kids needin' a boot up their a**." Of course his school yard heroism always got him into trouble with teachers. The reputation stuck with him.

"You aren't wrong. There are a lot of punk a** kids needing a boot. You know theres a few here too.." Bix actually laughed, wiped his hands on his pants, and crumbled the now empty bag of chips and dropped it in his trash bin. He got up and grabbed a thick comic book off the shelf. The books were in size order but also grouped by series. "Here you'd like this. Borrow it and let me know what you think." It was The Ultimates. "Most of the new marvel movies are based off of this universe. It's like if the marvel heroes all started in modern times instead of in the 40's and 50's. And this cap is baaadass."

Otto finished off the last of the chips on his lap, dusting off the crumbs and then licking the grease from his fingers. His eyes lifted as Bix got up, watching him ruffle through books until he pulled out one of the heftier ones.
"Woah, I didn't know comic books could be that thick." He commented aloud, thinking they were only tiny small magazine size things.
He wiped his hands on his shirt before taking the offered book, flipping through some of the pages as a sort of preview. He wasn't enough of a comic buff to know there were universes and alternate stories, but the fact this took place in a timeline he'd at least relate to was appealing.
"Badass. I'll borrow it then."

"Dude comics are not as cheesy as they used to be." Bix nodded. "I think thats why the movies are getting so popular now. Just be nice to it." OCD COMIC GUY. Bix went back to the shelf. "I also have normal books.. Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit but Molly borrowed that. And for the geekier tastes..." He tapped another one. "Tolkien Bestiary.. It's like a guide to the world and monsters from the Tolkien universe." *coughwhatanerdcough*

Otto looked the book over. He was usually careful with the belongings of others, just not so much his own stuff. He loved reading, but sometimes a book made a great coaster. Note to self: Bix's book is not a coaster.
Oh, he had normal books? He was almost excited but then it seemed maybe he wouldn't have his favorites. "Ah, I read those before. The singin' dude kinda freaked me out." Evidentially it had been a while since he read it, or didn't pay enough attention to remember names. Tom Bombadil didn't make it into the movie, so it was just as well in his eyes.
But wait. A bestiary? Otto did have to snort this time. "Hey Bix, yer nerd is showin." He teased lightly, gesturing at the taller man's presence.

"My nerd is always showing.." He made a pervy creep face. "Leave it flappin in the wind." He grunted weirdly before laughing.
"No girlfriend as you can tell." He pulled out the Bestiary anyway and went to throw himself on the bed. He took a biiig swig of his soda.
"I need to get more novels. Any suggestions? I spend so much money on comics that I don't think to go to the regular book store."

Okay. Bix is a creepo nerd boy. Otto tried not to show how repulsed he was out of courtesy, since he gave him some reading material. He wasn't sure how long that would last though. "Noooo kiddin, lady killer." He replied as unrepulsed as possible.
Otto thought for a moment, mentally sorting through books he'd read in the past. A lot of what he read was books for young teens, but then again Bix read comic books so would it be much different? He only knew a small handful of older material. "Uh.." Otto scratched his neck, not feeling so up for sharing his likes. Dislikes he threw around like candy at a carnival, but things he liked was a little more private.
"Doubt you'd like much of what I used to read. All my books got done in by the Fog epidemic anyway."

Bix shrugged. "Anything is better than the same things forever and ever." He flipped back through the bestiary again. Otto was throwing the noncommitals out. Maybe it was time to just do that thing where guys sat in silence and read and ate. "Maybe I'll get those hunger games books."
"Oh i forgot.." He leaned off the bed and rummaged in his bag until he pulled out some fruit-by-the-foot. "Blast from the paaaaaast.." He tossed one at Otto.
Yes Bix was weird. But well meaning!

Otto seemed mildly interested, making a small hum of thought. "I never got to read those..." In Otto speak it meant he was so getting that s**t next time he got leave.
His head lifted, handscoming up to catch the small roll of candy. Candy. Candy. "Thanks." He muttered, trying not to let on how damn excited he was to eat this thing.
With the long treat dangling from his mouth, he set himself up to start reading the hulk of a comic book.
