Shehk's lips tightened a bit at the joke. 'Joke'.
"I'd have to take you back to my room and make you the beginning of my own hoard, then." she joked - though it was kind of late for that. She was already starting one. "Be the depressing highlight of my collection."

Jericho missed the irony of that statement since he really had no idea that Shehk had half of his treasure right now. When he threw out some of this things, he figured they were just gone for good and scattered here and there.
"I'll have to try and make sure I take a good pose for it.." he said with a weak laugh.

"I like you better posable, though." Shehk noted. It was a rather macabre line of joking, after all.
"So I'll just hope it doesn't come to that ever." She just really wanted him to be alright. "Otherwise I'm out some really good company and some awesome hugs, y'know? I can't hug a statue. It isn't the same."

Nodding to her, Jericho let out a sigh and gave Shehk a rather sad smile.
"Yeah.. I hope so too.."

Shehk couldn't help but feel her heart sink into her stomach when Jericho made that face. He was just... so sad.
She reached out, brushing her hand over his cheek and tried to return the smile. "You'll be alright."

Nodding once more, Jericho didn't have anything to say in turn that time. People tell him time and time again that he'll be alright. Would he? He wasn't so certain. There wasn't much he could do right now aside from waiting to see if he would be.
Or perhaps he was simply waiting for that moment the insanity took over completely.

She looked at him for a long time before she leaned in to kiss him. She only lingered for a moment before she pulled away.
"I'm just sorry there's not more I can do to make you believe me."

The kiss was something he wasn't expecting. A bit of color rose to his cheeks and in general there was a bit of confusion upon his features when it happened. Jericho soon quickly shook his head.
"N.. No... it's alright..." he murmured before looking away.

Shehk looked away from him as well, scratching at the staples beneath her ear.
"I just..." she bit her lower lip and then stopped her thought, shaking her head. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that."

Jericho's wings shifted a little uncomfortably as things were now rather awkward in the room.
"Don't... worry about it.." he uttered quietly.

"I just..I don't...and...then..I ...nnnghh..." Shehk's face took on a very interesting hue before she turned from him in embarrassment.

And things got even more awkward now. Keeping his gaze averted, Jericho shifted in place again, trying to think of what to say or do. But right now, he just wasn't so sure. However, that little action did help him realize one thing. Unfortunately.
"This... probably isn't... a good time to mention this.. but.. with everything going on. We don't.. think we're ready for a real relationship. We... We're sorry.." he murmured quietly. The future, perhaps. But right now everything just didn't quite feel right. Aside from that, he was also afraid of diving any further in case something did happen. Riley's lost hurt a lot. Not just him but Mal too.
Maybe this was another reason why he had been keeping to himself so much.

Shehk looked back at him for a moment. "I understand." she answered with a small frown before she stepped back away from him towards the door. Her hand lingered on the knob for a moment before she opened it.
"Don't be sorry for it. You didn't ask for it. I've been the one pushing everything at you and.....I'm sorry." She passed another look back to him. "But know I'll still be here for you despite that, alright? You're too late to try and spare me."

Rubbing the back of his neck, Jericho slowly looked up towards Shehk, seeing her begin to retreat. Should he stop her? He didn't know.
"It's... alright. And.. thanks.. We... we appreciate it.." he said before glancing away again.

Shehk stepped away from the door to walk back over to him, leaning up to kiss his cheek before she went back to the door.
"When you're ready, I'll be waiting." she said calmly. "But only when you are ready." She offered him the smallest of smiles before she finally stepped out, looking back to him one last time. "Please take care of yourself. I don't want to have to come in here and make you do that." It was a teasing threat, but still.
She'd made her position clear enough, she guessed, and it was time to give him some breathing space, closing the door quietly before she left.
