Ignoring the further insults to his sand attack, Arashi studied the stone that she had found. Wasn't difficult to find? <<Well I've been through these parts. Normally, all I would find are smoother rocks worn down from the elements. That's why I asked,>> he explained, fighting her fiery pride with simple logic. She sure had a mouth on her. Without weighing the size of the apple slices, Arashi gratefully took the piece that was left for him by the end and pulled it toward himself, propping it between both front paws as though afraid it may scurry away while he wasn't looking.
<<Heh, sure she isn't one? That'd be a sight to see, all that obsession turning her into one,>> he snorted as he took a bite of his apple half. Yes, he knew there wasn't a dragon-type eevee, at least as far as he had heard of, but the idea of her fixation corrupting evolution like that seemed rather fitting. He shuddered at the thought of so many custap berries, sweet things not being one of his favorite flavors in a meal. He glanced down at his apple half, glad to note that it was still a bit green, <<You'd think her teeth would be rotting out...>> He nodded to Rei's explanation of why the two siblings no longer lived together, thinking it made sense save for one minor detail, <<Wouldn't have guessed you were adult enough to be on your own.>> Another comment that could either pass as being a compliment or criticism, but either way, Arashi bit into the apple to prevent having to explain himself.
Arashi's nose wrinkled at the thought of a hot spring, and he shook his head in reaction to it. <<Too warm for my comfort. I get too toasty in just the amount of undercoat I've got,>> he explained before shrugging, <<But different pokémon, different tastes. That's cool.>> He almost wished he could stand it, if only to try it once, but chances were that it would just make him feel ill as he was now. Heat stroke was not his friend.
He snickered at Rei's enthusiasm with being called stubborn, feeling particularly relieved that she liked that. He didn't always consider it a bad trait, although it could get annoying to those opposed to a tightly-held idea. Finishing up the last bite of his shared meal, he stood up, only to quickly scamper to the side of the clearing when Rei released a whirlwind of stored sand from her thick coat. While she was preoccupied, Arashi grinned impishly before turning tail to her, <<Alright, I've grown tired of just sitting around here. Interesting conversation; you're not as bad as you seem, Rei. Hope to see you again so we can finish this.>> It was a sincere statement, considering she was definitely not a type of individual he had encountered before. He had a lot of fun, despite all her boasting.

<<Maybe I am just better at finding useful things?>> Rei pondered aloud, a sly grin on her face. He was sure fun to tease. <<Though really, how often do you look for rocks?>>
<<If she was…>> Rei answered with a shake of her head, <hat would just be horrible. She is already full of herself as it is. I would hate to see what she would be like if she was even more unique. She already treats herself like a legendary… That would just be bad. She already gives her moves unique names,>> Shaking her head again, she mumbled, probably too quietly for Arashi to hear, <<Her and her stupid double tail whip.>>
<<It is real nice after a long day running about; it feels real good to relax in,>> Rei added with a longing smile. As much fun as she had just had, she couldn’t wait to get home, relax, and wash the dirt of battle off. If she let herself drift off, she could almost feel the heat coursing through her body. She couldn’t help but sigh at the thought of it. She loved her home.
<<I will be waiting,>> Rei replied with a wide grin. She would be looking forward to part 2. She loved a proper battle.

He should have seen her statement coming a mile off, but despite all lead-up to it, Arashi had to roll his eyes and sigh. Ah well, at least it wasn't so bad of a boast this time, and it even turned into a bit of concession toward the end. That, he had not been expecting. He snickered at the query, noting that she had a point this time.
Ahh, right, so Rei's sister sounded to have a fixation on being special, did she? The whole "snowflake in an entire population of snowflakes" syndrome. While Arashi was merely hearing this from a gossiping, bitter sibling, he was already starting to adversely siphon some of Rei's emotion over the subject. He didn't like that, for he didn't want to gain an impression someone else had about another, but who else would know better about a sister than their own sibling? It was difficult to ignore and, despite the implications, Rei pegged the personality type rather well, <<I think I know a few pokémon like that. Not the easiest bunch to get along with, and that's saying things lightly.>> No, he was sure that Rei's sister was not the bully-type, but sometimes familiarity just seemed to line up like that, especially when one lived their lives on the streets of a tough neighborhood.
Arashi cringed slightly as Rei began mellowing down to the thought of such a warm place, unnerved to see her so wistful about... well, anything really. She didn't seem the type to have a soft side like that, even though he practically only knew about how she reacted in the face of battle. Regardless, he felt he should high-tail it before he got too twitchy on the subject. Smirking to her response on the conclusion of the truce, he agreed with a nod and bounded away.

Rei stretched slightly as Arashi bounded off. Time to head home. A satisfied smirk on her face, she took off in the opposite direction.
