"I won of course." The strix fluffed up a bit proudly. "But we shared the nachos anyway."
Ulmuka once more tilted his head as she told him about her people. "My father has many children. I am not sure how he gets so many women to agree but I believe there are many feelings involved. As an incubus he is very proud of his rather high reproduction rate." The strix giggled. "Did you know I am the youngest and also the only monster among them?"
His excitement over clothes, of course, could not be quelled. "Oh don't you worry Miss Needle." The strix chattered his teeth happily. "I will have something made for us custom. I happen to love clothes you know. I have no talent for designing them but I quite enjoy wearing!"

"Congratulations! You were very kind to have shared it." Needle cheered as enthusiastically as her quiet background would allow. Having an excess of children just seemed ridiculous to the Engraver, but there were many clans that visited her manor that were nearly swimming in offspring, so she always knew children had different values to different cultures. "I did not know that! How many siblings do you have?" It seemed like a lot, otherwise he wouldn't have made a point to bring it up!
"You...You will?" Needle stopped walking in surprise, halting rather entirely as she tried to figure this out. Ulmuka was going to get something custom made, for her? That seemed...very extravagant. Also a lot of work for one day! The Engraver had helped to make the ink-stained clothing she and her clan wore, and as simple as their garb was, it was a lot of work to make! "Clothes are...interesting." Truth be told she liked being naked, but clothes were apparently very important for social norms, and thus she wore them. At best she sounded distracted, as she was quite thrown off guard by such a declaration.
"Are you sure? I would not want to put you out." She wasn't objecting really, merely...making sure.

"I am not sure. It's some sort of record I believe. At least, thats what he says. I've never bothered to check." Muka simply shrugged. "Parties are pretty large." He giggled.
The strix waved his hand when Needle fretted. "No no I like to do these things for my friends!" In fact he enjoyed it immmensely. He loved to see his friends happy and especially loved to see them well dressed.
"Besides, it's PROM!" He screeched happily. "As a ghoul it is your job to simply be beautiful and it's my job to provide you with dances and flowers and a lovely time." Muka giggled. "So I shall take care of everything."

"I...can not even imagine." Needle said honestly; her clan was a handful of very serious women (with only a handful of males, one being too young to do anything but get in the way), so she couldn't imagine a brood so big it set a record! That was just crazy.
He put her mind to rest, and she visibly relaxed on the topic. "Very well, as you wish. Thank you again, in advance." Needle freed her arm from his to better turn to him and offer a deep bow of gratitude. Once she straightened herself she carefully retraced her steps and reached to tug her hand back agianst his arm, hoping he hadn't moved much since she stopped walking.
"I will do my best to be beautiful for you." Needle promised with a smile, curious as to why the boils had to do everything for this particular event. "Are you sure there is nothing else I can do for you, Mr. Knobwalker?"

The strix was extra careful when she dislodged from his arm. He found himself checking her surrounding area momentarily to make sure she wouldn't snag on something or perhaps step on something else that she couldn't see. When she had bowed, he returned it, arm resting lightly at his waist so he could bend towards her.
"It will be my pleasure." He extended his arm when she returned to his side, moving himself to avoid her needles but she seemed fairly good about that on her own. "And you needn't make the effort!" Muka giggled as if she was making a joke. "You've already outshined me. And please, the only thing you need to do for me is to call me Muka!"
The strix snickered uncontrollably. "Mr. Knobwalker is my father."

The Engraver was getting much better at not stabbing gentlemen with her arm needles, so thankfully with Muka being careful it was much less likely that she would injure him by accident. Well, for now anyway.
"You are much too kind, Mr--ah, Muka." She corrected herself, her head tilted down to pick at the long red obi she wore. "That does not seem like an equal trade...however I suppose you would know better than I." If all she had to do was be beautiful - something she could try, but would never be sure if she was doing it right - and call him Muka, how was that comparible to everything he had to do? It really did seem like she'd gotten the easier end of the deal. No matter what he said she had to at least do something nice for him!
"Do you have plans tonight, by chance?"

Muka's stare and grin remained static, despite her unsure movements. They'd come back around to the main building again and the breeze picked up. An autumn rain seemed on it's way.
"Well I am actually on my break after first term." He giggled. "My father will be sending a car for me a little after dinner. I am free up until then. I was sent to find a date and since that's finished..." He giggled contentedly.
"Do you have plans, hmm?" His head bobbled to the side.

"...Well then, this was certainly very well timed!" Needle giggled as he explained his being on break; their meeting was extreme chance. Almost planned by the gods above! "I do not have plans, however...it would seem we are running out of time!" After dinner; she wasn't sure when that was for him, but if some of the other students were any indication, it may be quickly looming.
"I was hoping you would accompany me to dinner? On the condition it is my treat, of course. You have been remarkably kind and informative." And spoiled her rotten without actually having done a thing. Yet.

"Ooooh." he trilled happily, the gray flesh of his throat actually visibly thrummed as he happily stretched himself out a bit. "Foooood. I can not turn down that offer."
He patted her hand on his arm and grinned wide. "We can make our meeting arrangements for prom while we eat. I will make sure your dress is delivered to your dorm so you won't have to be inconvenienced by going to pick it up somewhere."
With his free hand he pulled out his cell phone. He awkwardly poked the keys, sending out whatever text message he needed to in order to make this prom thing go as quickly and effortlessly as possible.

It was a good thing Needle couldn't see the way his throat actually vibrated, or else she would have nuzzled her head right under there and get him to do it again. Her plan for dinner was easily getting away from her in lieu of this whole Prom thing. Still she let him do his thing, smiling in amusement the entire time.
"You are very good at this, you are a born planner." She said softly, not wanting to interrupt the way he was playing with what she assumed was a skelephone. From what she had seen, especially in the last few minutes, he was something incredible. "Would you be needing my measurements?" Not that she had them, but what she knew of clothing and fittings, measurements were important. Very important. "As for dinner...where ever you would like to eat is where we will eat!" And it was going to be her treat.

"I just happen to like social events." He giggled and tucked his phone back into his jacket, inside pocket. "I think I can perhaps eyeball it. It's impolite to ask a lady her measurements but if you don't mind I can send a tailor. Just a quick measure... won't take a moment."
When discussing eating, the contest she mentioned came to mind. "Well let us make it a date!" he trilled excitedly. "An eating contest date! There is a buffet near the mall..." Buffets, thankfully, were rather inexpensive and provided copious amounts of food.
"I challenge you, Miss Needle!" He squeezed her hand definitively with his own.

"Is it? Ah. Well, that's good because I do not actually know them." Needle seemed amused with this turn of events. "Whatever you need me to do, I will happily do it." She assured him, before grinning at the 'date' suggestion and even further at the challenge.
"Challenge accepted."
