"...A what?" A Fair? There was a fair?! REALLY?! "Dear Priestess, I have not seen a fair in...in..." Wait, when did she last see a fair? She had heard about them certainly, and she had walked by them a few times in hopeful longing, but...had she ever been to one? "It sounds like fun! There will be a lot of people, yes?" Her hand tightened around his ever so slightly, still mildly afraid of getting abandoned in a crowd.
"What is a ride? Will there be horses or other such mounts? Please tell me there are no c-cakes in there..." The word was hard to get out; that's how badly she couldn't stomach those particular sweets.

"Cake?" he asked blankly. "Well, no, but there might be other sweets--that ain't a problem if I don't make you eat them, is it?" he asked, wondering what in the hell was going on with that. Cake? She was afraid of cake?
He opened the door that led them outside, holding it with his back and tugging her into the pumpkin sunlight. "Rides like... you ever heard of a ferris wheel?" he asked. "You sit in this cart and it goes up and around on this giant wheel. It's really cool, kinda slow, but you can see for like, forever--and I'll describe it for you!"
Cuz obviously SHE couldn't see forever.

"Cake." She confirmed with as much disgust as a generally monotone person could muster which, apparently, was quite a lot. "That is certainly not a problem, please do refuse me sweets." Despite herself she giggled, amused that she was giving permission to deny her something; that was odd for her outside of the Engraver Manor, especially since she was usually demanding everything in her own way. As he tugged her out the door she spun easily on intangible feet, the folds of her long hakama swirling before settling again, fading into nothing inches above the ground. She waited for him, her mouth set in a smile, and then she continued to follow him down whatever path he chose to take her on.
"I have heard of a Ferris wheel...in passing." In passing like...'accidentally' reading someone else's book over their shoulder, or hearing others discuss how romantic it had all been when they went their with their boilfriend and how dreamy it was. The fact that Roch would bring up such a ride was a good start when you consider she was after certain knowledge. "It sounds lovely, will you take me on it?" Her head lifted to 'look' at him, though it looked like she was actually looking past him instead.

"Sure! Wanna do that first?" he asked as they headed down the path. He had to be careful about how he held her hand, because if he moved wrong he'd wind up scraping himself on her nails. Then again, he thought as he looked down, all those bracelets he wore sort of acted as a pretty good guard. That was good to know. "Then we can decide where we wanna go to!"
He strolled down the path, easily holding her hand and telling her when he saw something interesting. For a guy that had never had a ghoulfriend, he seemed to be good at this--then again, he used to drag Xiu around like this. Once upon a time.

Ferris wheel first?
"Sure, if you do not mind?" Getting right down to business, apparently! Wasn't that kind of a requirement for the so-called Bad Boil? Normally she would check, but she was on the move and one hand was thoroughly taken. "Sounds like a plan!" She agreed, taking the rest of the trip to listen to him tell her about their surroundings, and occasionally asking questions about what he was seeing (like, why were they doing that? or What is the point of ____?).
"Have you been on a Ferris Wheel with a ghoul before?" She asked, suddenly curious.

"Um..." he fell silent, thinking. "Yeah," he admitted. "A while back." He seemed to clam up after that, a frown on his face as he thought of the themepark that he and Xiu had went to. Maybe it was too soon to do goof off dating, he thought. Naaaah, this was completely different. There wasn't any one sided awkwardness going on or anything!

Curiousity hit her hard them, but she learned a long time ago that asking for more information about something that makes them frown generally didn't lead to a good day. So she stored those questions away and kept on smiling.
"Well, experience is experience!" She hummed, her free hand coming up to brush stained fingers against her lips. "However, you are my first at this! Please treat me gently." Even though they were walking, she managed a slight bow.

"Uh... whut?" Roch asked blankly, a bit startled at the "first" comment. "What do you--" He shook his head as he saw the fair in the distance. "There it is!" he said. "I can see the ferris wheel from here, man that thing's huge," he said happily. "I bet it takes forever to get to the top." He tightened his hold on her hand, grinning as he headed for the town. It was crowded, but he'd expected that, and tugged her closer to make sure no one accidentally bumped into her.
""Okay, we're gonna go left for a bit--" he instructed as he led her. "Curb in front of us so step up a bit right... now," he went on, almost subconsciously. The noise and the smells were ideal in his mind. It seemed like a lot of fun!

She didn't have to answer his question as he distracted himself, but as he brought up the ever-elusive ferris wheel she looked up, seeing the giant circle against a dark background. "Oooh...if that is it, that is...that is massive!" She gushed, leaning her shoulder against him as he pulled her closer, her needles thankfully fitting around his arm and bracelets to avoid puncturing him. Her other arm however, caught on passing fabrics here and there, doing nothing more than the occasional tiny rip.
His guidance was once more noted, and how detailed he was in his descriptions made her smile softly, a momentary blush creeping on her cheeks. It wasn't often that someone went to such trouble for her; it was nice. He was a good friend. However the blush and the smile were lost as the rest of her senses became quickly overwhelmed; the sounds, the smells, the outlines and shapes of hundreds of things blurring and mingling together.
For the first time in a long while, she was actually uncomfortable.
Her hand tightened around his, her lips pulled into a thin line and her muscles tensed as she tilted her head this way and that as a new sound or a strong smell attacked her sharper senses. The only saving grace was that She was still nearly shoulder-to-shoulder with the Reaper. For better or worse, he was her rock right now.

He led her through the crowd as if he was born navigating such places. They were in the line for the ferris wheel before she knew it, where he wrapped one arm around her waist and tugged her closer, looking, for all intents and purposes, as if they were a couple very much in love. But he was doing it because he was picking up on her nervousness unconsciously.

Needle almost started to panic. Almost. When Roch let go of her hand she was set to try and bring him back, but before she could even form the words the missing hand slid around her waist. It calmed her frazzled nerves, and when a hand returned to hers she gripped it tightly, careful to find places for her arms to rest without hurting him.
"Thank you..." She breathed out in relief, leaning her head to rest on his shoulder; it completed the look they had going, but like Roch she did not intend it. She merely wanted as much solid contact as possible in a place that was so very hectic.

Before they knew it, they were getting into the small cart and watching as the door closed behind them. Roch sat down, making himself as comfortable as he could in the enclosed space. Then he looked at her. "It's gonna shake, but don't worry, this thing is pretty tough, okay?" he told her.
It seemed pretty... small with two people in it, he realized a bit belatedly.

The line went much faster than she anticipated; even faster that she had the comfort of a very warm body against hers. Getting into the cart was easy enough under the Reaper's careful guidance, and she took a seat beside him, staying as close as ever.
"I trust you." Needle murmured, admittedly nervous about this whole ordeal. They would be off the ground, but at least there would still be something fairly solid under her feet; so that just left being alone in a decidedly romantic spot with a boil who was here as a control group. That was a whole new level of stress!
The ride lurched to life and Needle straightened, going rigid for a moment. Her grip on his hand tightened briefly, and relaxed along with the rest of her muscles as it smoothed out, only to come to another stop as they started to put on more passengers.
"So...now what?" She asked, really uncertain of what should happen now.

"Well... it's gonna stop each time a cart goes down to put more people on it, see? We're gonna go up each time, so don't freak out over it, alright? And then when they're all full we'll start goin... uh... up, over, down, y'know, like on a giant wheel, except we'll be stayin' upright," he explained seriously.
"And uh... there's windows all around, so we can look out--it doesn't really get interesting till you reach the top, though, then you can see how tiny everyone looks from above and all the other rides!"

"I understand~" She corrected his see? comment, her lips managing to curl into a somewhat amused smile. Naturally she wouldn't be able to see what he was describing to her, but on the whole it sounded pretty amazing; she had seen ants before in her childhood, and they were small then! She had grown since then, after all. "I promise I will not, as you put it, freak out." The Engraver giggled softly, leaning her head to rest against his shoulder, 'gazing out' of the window in front of them.
"And then what? What happens during the ride as per my little, ah...experiment?" Getting to the point was one of her many fortes. Sometimes.
