Ca'mil had managed to find a seat near a couple of riders she recognized from the recent wing practice and she offered them a wave while the new dragons wandered about the sands looking for thier's. So far two greens and a blue had made an appearance although only a green had impressed.
It was still early in the hatching however and dragons as always would do everything in their own good time.

"Morning, greenrider~" Lena greeted E'lai, with a friendly wave and a quick smile before going back to peering at the Sands. "And I'm sure he will be. They all will be, or the Weyrlingmaster will have some choice words for them and their riders, I'm certain," she added with a chuckle. Granted, it would be quite some time before they could fly.
There was no worry the green would find Hers, by the way she moved - and the blue was making progress too. And then it seemed the green had found her partner at last, rearing up to touch a girl but not with so much force that it would knock the other over. The blue almost appeared to have made a choice as well...but no, he moved on too. And another green broke her egg rather neatly, though not entirely without complaint. Lena did wonder if there weren't going to perhaps be more greens than usual, this time around...

The first green had found her partner, and he couldn't help but have a wistful expression. Would he be found as a partner on these sands?
He glanced back over at the blue, who was still searching for his partner, before noticing that a third egg was hatching. It was a green, still at the stage where she was escaping her shell, but she would be searching for her lifepartner soon. Would it be another girl? Or would this green seek out a boy.
Should be interesting to see.

The Blue rumbled as he found something not quite right in each of the Candidates he considered... shaking his head in rejection at each of them. And then he felt the gaze of His shift away and he called out, a loud, uncertain squawk and finally spotted the young man. Slipping easily between the Candidates, he butted his head against his chosen rider and reared up again, fluttering his wings. Echlemine! Why do you look away? Your Magith is here! ... And very hungry too.The blue glanced at the green and rumbled, mind fully on food right at this instant. The Green, in the meantime, meandered about the eggs, inspecting them for a while before turning to look at the candidates.... where was Hers?

"Sounds about right," S'ren replied, a bit amused by the summary. It wasn't only Weyrlingmasters who were strict with the riders, but when flying and drills and everything were brand new it was certainly a challenging time. Looking back down at the Sands, it seemed that another green had hatched. Not surprising, but-- oh look, it seemed also that the blue had finally located His. So far this Hatching was going rather well.

The little green was heading towards her! Dizzian kept a wary eye as the pale little beauty took off, bumping into another of the candidates. Dizzian raised her arms defensively as the green reared, pausing only as the gentle claws landed on her thighs and those whirling eyes looked up at her.
~ Dizzianmine, your Courath knew you were here! Take Yours to eat now? ~
Dizzian cupped the newborn head in her palms tears rolling down her eyes. "My Courath....Oh Courath!" She dropped to her knees, sobbing almost hysterically as she clung to the green's little neck. "You don't know how long I waited for you!"
Couranth crooned, her eyes slowly spun green as she rubbed her head against Dizzian's cheek. ~ I am here now Mine. Shhh don't fret so. ~ Her voice was soothing, not at all what Dizzian had expected from such an explosive entrance. She pulled back, a silly grin on her face as her sobs dissolved into hiccups. ~ Better now? ~ She headbutted Dizzian's chest, nudging her to her feet.
"Haha yes! How could I not be now that you're here!" Dizzian took the hint though as she realized she could feel a shadow of Courath's hunger in herself. There was no denying the bubbling euphoria as she realized for the first time she would be the first to leave the Sands rather than the last!

Oh yay, the blue had found his as well! Roeline was very much excited that everything was going so well at this hatching so far. She'd heard stories in the past of dragonets fighting and Candidates being mauled and other dragons not finding Theirs and disappearing Between... No, surely none of that would be happening this Hatching. Not with such a nice and friendly group of eggs out on the Sands.

Akaya slipped in, making much less of her entrance than Sleeth was up on the dragons' watching tier. Her green was bubbly and brightly chattering to those nearest her new perch, and Akaya had to smile at the echo of the small talk in her own mind. Next, Sleeth would be cheering on the dragons newly hatched, but somehow that was far less embarrassing than some of the things she did get to cheering about.
It took some doing, but she eventually located S'koi amongst those watching and picked her way over to sit beside him. "Good morning, S'koi," she offered with a smile. "I see I might've missed some?" There was a green heading off the Sand and a blue who looked not far behind, leaving another green searching...

Ailin's attention was finally focused as the blue approached him. Would it attack? He'd been told to get away when hatchlings came near. Ailin's spine crawled as the dragonet stared at him before shaking it's head and moving along. Ailin was surprised to find his hands trembling as his heart thumped in his chest. It had been terrifying and yet exciting at the same time, something Ailin wasn't used to feeling. He watched the blue continue it's performance among the rest of the boys before making it's choice. Hopefully the Candidatemasters warnings would be in vain and the Hatching would go off without a hitch. Ailin liked the thought but remembering some of the personalities he'd touched, he was sure at least one would make a scene.

S'koi was honestly surprised that Akaya had even been able to find him in the crowd at all. He wasn't a particularly tall person to easily spot in a sea of faces. "Good morning," he greeted with a small smile. "And yes, just a bit. Two Impressions and a third still out on the Sands at the moment. The Hatching still has a ways to go though." So far things had been fine, but he was a bit concerned as to what might happen at the end. What if there were any atypicals in the clutch? Could Brakiath be convinced to allow someone other than Hers to go break the eggs?

The little green tilted her head this way and that as she regarded first the males and then the female candidates - it was hard to tell if she'd found anyone suitable but her eyes whirled a calm green and she didn't seem distressed. Instead it looked like she might want to take a nap..or perhaps just ponder more on her choice. Either way she gave the candidates a serene almost sleepy look and plopped down on her butt.
For a few moments this seemed to be about all the action anyone was going to see...but the Crimson Swirl egg seemed to have other ideas about how all of this should be happening and with an earsplitting crack the red shell burst forth to revel and imperious looking green who faced them all with a critical eye and a haughty stance. Her sister was not spared this look and eyes whirling slightly faster she gave her fellow green a demanding rumble.

Echlerov felt the dragon bump his legs, and he looked down, meeting the whirling eyes of the small blue dragon.
Echlemine! Why do you look away? Your Magith is here! ... And very hungry too.
"So you are." The vinter's eyes were wide in delight, and now, he couldn't look away. Magith was perfect, even if he was tiny, and he reached down to caress him gently.
I am still very hungry. He rumbled at the green, before nudging the boy. Can we find food now?
"Of course." They made their way off the sands, heading to where the food was waiting for the newly hatched dragons.

Selene heard the call for the Hatching and quickly dressed in her Candidate robes. She raced down to the Sands pulling on her thin sandals. Once she was down there she ran a hand through her hair, a bit out of breath. This is it... She waited there with the rest of the Candidates seemingly calm and glanced at Kytara briefly. The two knew each other in a somewhat friendly way and she was glad to be near a friend during this time.

The tiny - but very pretty - blue found his, and headed off, and Lena's attention was captured once more by the antics of the young dragons. The calm little green was rather adorable as well, though her sitting for too long might become problematic. "Do you think she thinks it's too early to be hatching as well?" Lena mused to her companions with a chuckle. One would think she'd've preferred to just stay in the egg for a bit longer if so!
But the new green sister who'd emerged onto the Sands didn't seem like she'd be letting the other take a nap or even stop to rest a bit. "My, my..." Lena murmured, still amused. Did someone endow this green with queen-like attitude? Not that all queens were critical types, not by a long shot. But attitude - and demands - she most certainly seemed to have.

Aaaaaw, sleepy dragon~ So cute~ Urgh, staying in one spot was so haaaard... Oh hey, another egg was hatching! And this one was a green too~ But why such a mean look to her sister? There was nothing wrong with being sleepy so long as they all still Impressed in the end, right?
