Ariane ended up dragging Jude out the portal, which was conveniently there. As the hunters helped her put Jude on one of the beds, she stood nearby, smirking.
Meanwhile, some of the hunters were collecting their winnings.

She cheated. That is all there was to it. That was a low down and dirty cheat. His eyes snapped open and he could feel the smug. He knew she was still there and his expression went dark, "You cheated Ariane."
That's right. Cheated.
"No way would I have done that to you. At least not without fair warning," he mumbled as he sat up with a bit of a wince due to the complaints of his lower back.

"I stood in front of you and warded off some of them, precisely because I wanted to give you some recovery time," She grinned, sitting on the edge of the bed, turning to look at the hunter, "So you're saying that it didn't count?"

His expression didn't brighten at all as he just gave her a glower his arms crossed over his chest, "That is not a warning. It shouldn't count but ******** it. I don't have s**t to prove to you," his legs swung over the edge of the bed so that he could get up to his feet.

"You don't," She replied, pausing for a bit as she stared at Jude, "But although we both got through the portal, I did take out more of the shadowlings than you did... Before I cheated."

"The numbers don't mean stamina," he replied simply with a small shrug, "I took down maybe a couple less than you but I wasn't worn out by it," he stood on his feet maybe just a bit wobbly from being suddenly knocked out like that.

"Oh. So you're not acknowledging my win...?" She looked mildly surprised all of a sudden, and then disappointed, before she lowered her gaze, to stare at her own feet.

She eyed her seriously for a moment. Watching her demeanor and certainly it tugged at his heartstrings because quite simply he did care for Ariane but...
Jude has had her mess with him in the past and this was no different from any other time. Instead of going over and draping over her and giving her all the hugs like he might have done for anyone else he just dusted off the front of his uniform, "I'll acknowledge you killed more monsters than me this round. I am not acknowledging you have more stamina than I do."

"Good enough!" She grinned, recovering quickly... Or maybe, she had no need to recover from anything in the first place. Looking up at Jude, she stood up from the bed and slung an arm around his shoulder, resting her head on his arm as she lowered her voice, "So, we're due to go on a Sushi trip with Deryk soon, right?" Her grin widened ever so slightly, "How about we make him pay for that meal since we don't have a clear winner between both of us? Besides, he's our junior, he should pay, right?"

Then there she was leaning her head against his arm and pretty much draping on him. All of which he took stoically other than relaxing a little under the touch rather than tensing up as he usually did. He wrinkled his nose a bit at her suggestion, "We could do that but I dunno. It seems like we're dragging someone into our game that didn't ask for it."

"Oh, he's sweet," She laughed, waving a hand dismissively in the air, "He'll probably say yes... Unless you would rather pay for it, seeing how I did win for one thing, even if it wasn't the stamina contest. I was thinking lobster sashimi, some salmon sashimi..."

"Taking advantage of the poor guy, Ari," he said with a small albeit amused sigh. Jude shifted his free shoulder into a shrug, "I'll pay if you say I have to. I am acknowledging it, aren't I? Here I was thinking you wanted something you could keep and gloat over if I bought anything for you."

"Oh, but that's not all," She continued to grin, "Before the restaurant, let's go to a five-star hotel, check all three of us in... And order room service. Think about it... Soft beds, pillows, a private bathtub and shower, television, air conditioning, good food... We have a whole weekend off, why not use it? Oh, I also want new clothing, shoes..."

She had his attention at the mention of rooms. "As in we each get our own room or we have to share one?"
Jude sadly had a pesky conscience to deal with where it concerned the money of others outside of his and Ariane's little bet. Though he did give off an amused chuckle at her materialistic side showing through like a grubby little diamond, "Well, how about we agree I'll pay for your room and two of whatever outfit you want?"
That seemed more reasonable than making Deryk pay for all of the things or even just sushi in general.
...Hopefully his pay could take this big of a hit otherwise he's going to hurt til' the next time they go out on leave.

"Let's share one," She grinned, wriggling her eyebrow at Jude, "Three of us in one room~ It'll be cheaper, and we can get a better room with that money. Maybe even a suite for our one night stay." Also she would be able to touch their butts when they're asleep, and vulnerable, or accidentally walk into the bathroom with a camera while they're showering. Things like that.
"Ohhh, tempting," She chuckled, stroking her chin, "Our room at a Chicago's Four Seasons Hotel, and three outfits~ And you've got yourself a deal." She extended out a hand towards him.
