She could hear the snake, but couldn't tell the direction it was coming from. Groaning her frustration right along with Hyvisk, Tashio stopped. It sounded like a fight was happening, but it could just be her heart racing in her ears. Kicking herself mentally for going off alone, she knew better than that. "Which way, Hyvisk. I need your help more than ever right now."

With Valarask concentrating on the snake, Mirize had a chance to check his wound. It had stopped bleeding, thankfully, and as long as he was careful, wouldn't impede him much. That was a relief.
He wished briefly that they hadn't split up. Having two of them would have made taking care of the snakes a whole lot easier, but Mirize wasn't really sure what sort of choice he had had in the matter. Sure, he could have followed after Tashio, but then they wouldn't have found the nest, and then there would have just been more tunnelsnakes to deal with later.
Kind of a lose-lose situation all around.
The only way it wouldn't be was if Tashio ran into the mama snake, which he was sure was around somewhere. He didn't think they had been sent down here just to deal with hatchlings, even if it was a bonus. He hoped that she didn't though. These little babies were bad enough on one's own, and he couldn't help but imagine that a bigger one would be even worse.
Valarask hissed at the snake, hoping to scare it into moving.

The Large Tunnel Snake surged through the hallway and burst upon the cavern Mirize was currently trying to kill little snakes in. With a roaring hiss that echoed up the passage to Tashio, it spotted the wher and made a beeline for it, all teeth and claws and snarling aggression.
The younger snakes saw the charging adult and scattered, disappearing deeper into the cavern, out of sight.
The tunnel snake missed on its first attack, a coiling, angry ball of ferocity as it spun and reared up to challenge Valarask.

Looks like the Tunnel Snake found you! Hurry and defeat it before it corners you!
Mirize/Valarask: roll 1d10 with your posts. Rolling well means whatever action you take is done well, be it counter-charging or dodging the attacks. If you counter-charge, your subsequent rolls are for the locked combat.
Tashio/Hyvisk: roll 1d10 with your posts. Rolling well means you arrive just after the Tunnel Snake does and have an opportunity to attack. You heard the roared challenge and see the scratch marks in the ground but you're a way's off yet.
Knife Special Ability - You both chose a knife. The Knife adds 3 damage when used in hand-to-hand combat (total of 4 damage from a human) and can be thrown, dealing 6 damage. A crit with a knife causes a bleed effect, dealing an additional 2 damage per turn to the target.
A hit is an even roll, a miss is an odd roll. 10 is a crit and worth 1.5x the wher's damage. A 1 is a botch and your wher takes 4 damage.
Tunnel Snake attacks deal 8 damage. Hyvisk's attacks deal 6 damage. Valarask deals 5 damage. Human fists deal 1 damage.
Hyvisk's HP is 40, Valarask's HP is 35, and the Tunnel Snake's HP is 45. Human HP is 20. **If a wher's HP reaches 0, it dies. If a human's HP reaches zero, you're knocked unconcious and playing 'dead'**
The roll in this post is the quality and hit/miss roll for the snake's opening attack
Feel free to play the snake's actions.

Tashio heard the roar and knew that it found Mirize and his wher. This was not sounding good. A slap on Hyvisk shoulder to have him go first, which was not needed, and she followed as fast as she could. "Shards, I should of stayed with them." Well there was the possibility of getting an attack in while it was distracted.

The roaring hiss startled Mirize, and when he turned, he saw the large tunnel snake. This was not good.
Valarask snarled, and charged at the snake. The snake slipped to the side just enough that the green moved past him, and she shrieked angrily in frustration. She turned quickly, ready to attack again.

Tashio and Hyvisk arrive just as the green wher attacked. It wasn't good, and there was no chance for her to stop the blue. Hyvisk went charging in. He wasn't going to be showed up by a green! He snarled a challenge, running straight in for the attack.
He missed, snarling as he turned. It was no good. Tashio came in to the side, waiting for her chance.

She charged the snake again, snarling as she bared her fangs at the snake. Once more it moved out of her way, proving itself as agile as the small ones.
They weren't having much luck, and when he saw that Tashio and the blue had joined them, he was relieved. Four against one wasn't perhaps the fairest of odds, but, since it was balanced in their favor he wasn't about to compain.
"Bout time you got here."

The blue let out a growl, watching the tunnel snake. Before he could attack, Tashio whistled at him to stop. "Sorry it took so long." The blue was barely staying in place, he wanted that snake. Tashio watched how the tunnel snake and green were moving. At the small chance of hitting it, she signaled the blue to attack.
Again, Hyvisk missed. Joining the wher in growling in frustration, Tashio moved to a corner, looking for another chance.

"Find anything interesting?"
It was, perhaps, not the right time for a conversation, but he was using it to distract himself from the terror he was currently feeling. He did not like big snakes.
He watched their movements, and then, when the time was right, threw his knife. It struck, catching the snake and penetrating in. Maybe that hadn't been the best of ideas, but at least he had hit it.

She grinned as the other wanted to talk. Sometimes distracting one from the danger in front of them was best. "Just where she was eating, that was about it. What did you find, besides her?" Tashio watched as he throw his knife, hitting the snake.
Wanting to keep her knife, she signaled to Hyvisk to attack. The wher charged at the snake, hitting it near where Mirize's knife was at. Finally, they were doing some damage to it.

"Just some babies, but they were scared off once this one showed up."
Not the best thing but at least they were only having to deal with one snake instead of three. He stared at the snake, trying to figure out the best way for them to take it out.
Perhaps if they could get on opposite sides, then there would be less of a chance of them running into each other, but, wait, no. That wouldn't work. If the snake moved, then they'd run into each other anyways. Hmm.
"Got any ideas on how we should take this thing out?"

"Probably keep it between us? That way we can hit it from both sides, but we have to watch out for the other." She tried to think of a way that would work, without injury to either of them due to a wher attacking.

Mirize nodded. "That's pretty much what I was thinking." He wished he could think of something better, anything, but for now, this would have to do. "We'll take the right, if you'll take the left."
It was the formation that the two wher's had already taken for the most part, but he felt it needed to be said out loud. Otherwise they would have gotten all mixed up, and any hesitation could, no, would spell danger.

She nodded. "Sounds good." It was the best they could do for now. She moved closer to the blue wher. "Make sure they can't trap you into a corner either." She stopped for a second, thinking. "You saw babies too? Watch out for them just in case they try to sneak by."

This tunnel snake hadn't gotten so big from being stupid. It knew how to fight in closed quarters, as evidenced by its ability to evade attack after attack. Snarling it coiled around, keeping a wall to one side but the handlers had moved to flank it, forcing it to expose its length to one or the other.
Fending off another attack, it reared up and got a knife to the side as a result. Screaming, a shrill and terrible sound, it dropped back to the ground and surged forward, batted aside by Hyvisk's well placed blow. The knife clattered to the ground, covered in ichor, and the snake snapped at Hyvisk. Catching his shoulder with its vicious teeth, the tunnel snake tossed its head.
