Jubilee hugged Eilam. "Thank you, bro! I'd really like that." She thought it was okay to call him that now. It sounded natural to her, after all.

Meanwhile, Kidd was trying to make a decision. If it were a choice between good news or bad news, then he would've immediately chose bad, so that he could get it out of the way. That, and it seemed like the good news always sounded that much better afterwards. But this wasn't like that. This was good, bad, and iffy. "The hell is iffy? Maybe we should hear that first. Yeah, let's go with that."

"Ah, okay." He looked at Dea and said, "Mrs. Longabaugh, your pre-existing conditions have stabilized and so long as you keep up your treatments, they should stay that way." Then, he did some talk with his hands thing where he wiggled his hands in the air. "The reason it's iffy is because --" He stopped. "--oh, wait, that's the good news. Is it okay for me the good news? Anyway, you're pregnant. Yay!" He stopped again and clapped his hands against the clipboard. "So there's that. Now, the bad news is according to your test results, you have Guillain–Barré syndrome. That's what paralyzed your legs. No, wait, there's more good news. It's treatable. You'll just have to have physical therapy for a while." He paused again. "Any questions?"

Kidd's jaw dropped. He was speechless.

Jubilee was rather surprised herself too. She was the baby of her old family, so she hadn't actually seen anyone pregnant before, but she knew what it meant. "Whoa!"

Eilam smiled softly to Jubilee and returned the hug, glad he could help her with something.

"Not a problem, Jubilee, I know how confusing it can be when you have to get used to new things. Like I said, when Dea was a baby and it happened the first time, I had so many questions. That's when Dea's father gave me the book to look at, so I would understand what was going on,"Eilam explained. He turned his attention to the doctor when he began to speak, raising an eyebrow. He looked at Dea trying to figure out how she was feeling about all of this thrown at her at once. He was sure that she would be happy to hear she was pregnant and that her illness could be treated, but would being pregnant make it hard for her?

Dea's eyes widened when she heard all of that news at once, her stomach going instantly to her stomach. She couldn't believe she had life growing inside of her, it seemed so surreal to her.

"What is Guillain-Barre syndrome exactly? And why does it keep coming back here and there? If it is treatable, does it mean I will eventually be able to walk again? Will my pregnancy hinder my progress when I am working to get better?"Dea asked in quick succession.

After Kidd picked his jaw up off the ground, he started babbling over and over again. "Oh my God. I'm going to be a daddy. Oh my God."

Jubilee was genuinely thrilled when she said to Dea, "So, you're going to have a baby? Congratulations!" Then, she said, not asking anyone in particular, "How long does it take? Three weeks? Six weeks? Nine weeks?"

The doctor answered them anyway. "It takes longer than nine weeks. More like nine months."

Then, he answered Dea's questions. "It's an auto-immune disease. Basically, it's what happens when the immune system attacks the nervous system.
"As for why it keeps coming back, it's usually an infection that triggers it. I'm not 100% sure if that's the case here. I'll need to research your chart more, because I don't want to say the wrong thing. Sorry about that. The stomach flu, herpes -- I don't mean like the STD. I mean, like, cold sores and chicken pox -- and the flu are the most common triggers, though.
"You shouldn't be in any physical training regiment that uses ultrasound while you're pregnant. There are a lot of safer options, so it shouldn't hinder you too much."

Eilam had just been about to answer Jubilee's question about how long a pregnancy lasts, when the doctor chimed in with an answer.

"The doctor is right, Jubilee, Dea will be pregnant for nine months. And although it is not really apparent now, in time it will be obvious that she is pregnant. I was around when Dea's little sister was born, that's how I know how long a pregnancy lasts,"Eilam told her gently. The small Arceus boy remembered it very well, so he really did remember a lot about pregnant women. He heard the doctor speaking again, then his eyes met Dea's when he said something about an affection. He could see the same realization had dawned on her that had on him. Dea had been sick right before she had been unable to walk. They had thought it was a cold at the time, but they both thought it might be connected. Plus, when she was a baby, Eilam remembered her being sick before they found out as well.

Dea reached over and placed her husband's hand on her stomach, trying to get him to calm down.

"That would explain a lot, Doctor, since I was sick directly proceeding all three times that I was struck with this. I just didn't think the two could be connected. Alright, so I need to have special training, so I can handle it while pregnant,"Dea nodded.

Jubilee nodded in response to what Eilam had said. "Ah, that makes sense. I remember my mom, before she had my little brother, she looked normal at first, but then, she got big and round." She made a circle with her hands. "Kind of like a pear. But it didn't take that long. People really are different."

Dea's method worked. Kidd was calmer. He was focusing on how it felt soft and warm against his hand.

Finally, the doctor said, "That would make sense.
"You could actually start physical therapy today if you want. I can help you choose a location that's convenient for you."

Eilam smiled softly, having seen how different humans and Pokemon could be when they were pregnant.

"Yes, Pokemon are not pregnant as long as humans are. In fact, if you remember right, Pokemon usually give birth to eggs, so that also makes us different than humans. I would suggest you be on your toes though, Dea is most likely going to go through food cravings and some mood swings,"Eilam warned. He knew he also needed to be ready, considering other than Light, he was one of her lead Pokemon. That meant that if anyone was going to have to deal with it, it would probably be him, Light, and Kidd. Oh how he hoped between the three of them and the others that they could keep Dea comfortable.

Dea smiled softly when she saw Kidd calm down, having figured it would work like a charm. She patted his hand gently, before thinking over what the doctor had just told her.

"Well, I have no plans currently, so I would like to start my physical therapy today. Kidd love, will you be coming with me?"Dea asked, giving her doe eyes in his direction.

"That's right." Jubilee said in reference to what Eilam said about Pokemon usually laying eggs. His warning afterward had her concerned enough that her hair bristled for a moment. But then, she figured it couldn't be that bad. It'd be a learning experience to say the least. "I, uh, I'll be sure to remember that."

"Yes, of course." If Kidd did have anything planned, he didn't anymore. There was no way he could resist a face like that.

"Your first session can actually be done here, since you're here already." After that, the doctor pulled a cellphone out of his pocket, dialed a number, and started talking to a nurse. When he finished, he hung up, put it back in his pocket, and said, "The nurse should be here soon to show you where exactly it is. The subsequent sessions can be done somewhere closer to you. I wish you luck in your recovery and hope you have a blessed day."
