"Never said we were nice, good people. I'd never say that. We do terrible, terrible things. Things some of us would rather we didn't do. But we don't hide behind a badge and say we're doing the right thing." Walpurgis suddenly felt very tired. "I'm not one for all the killing and stealing, but I'll be damned if the police do anything about it. It was the same way back home. You lot keep up appearances like the "nice" authorities you are, but when the chip are on the table, the only difference is we admit to doing what we do. That's all."

Ed kept one hand on the thief's arm as he used the other to fish out his keys and open a cell. "Yeah, well, I think I'll stick to going after lawbreakers instead of kids, thanks very much," Ed said. "I prefer to be the one running towards the cries for help, not the one causing them." Ed pushed the thief into the cell and closed the door. "Back up to the bars, and I'll undo the cuffs. Someone will bring you breakfast in the morning, and figure out the paperwork."

Walpurgis sighed. He knew he wouldn't be here long, it would only be a matter of time until he was bribed out. He backed up as he was told. "Well, it seems that there won't be any convincing you, but I'll just leave you with this information: sometimes, the people going to the cries are the ones who cause them. But I don't expect you to understand. If you did, this situation would be different, after all."

Ed undid the cuffs and slipped them back into their pouch on his belt. "Philosophy and I just don't get along at this time of night, so I'm gonna go track down my dog and let you get some sleep," Ed said. Then he led Zaire back to the computer room and set her to tracking Zelda.
((Feel free to escape here, as I conveniently forgot to pat Walpurgis down!))

Walpurgis sighed, pulling the lock pick from his back pocket. While it would only be a matter of time before he was bribed out, there was no reason to force Team Rocket to waste resources if he didn't need to.
The lock clicked, and Walpurgis walked out of the cell with his hands in his pockets. "Dumbass cop." He walked calmly out of the station. "Just proves my point."

Meanwhile, Ed informed the oblivious night shift of their guest, then followed Zaire as she tracked Zelda. Upon finding the KOed Growlithe, Ed recalled her, made a stop at the pokemon center, and went home, as his shift had been over some time ago. The paperwork could wait for the morning.
