Well, whether or not the cactus ghoul was unwilling to communicate with him she was willing to talk to the white-haired one, and he was not worried in the least that he might be ignored. In fact, he was remarkably unconcerned with whatever the students thought about him, so long as they obeyed him when he needed something done.
It was hard to tell how these ghouls' and the cat boil's behavior may change when he did not know how they acted in the first place, but it was a reasonable assumption. "That may be the answer." He took the flasks they drank from and sniffed at them. "They smell the same, so they could have consumed some of the same draught." Not that he had a fantastic nose or anything, and he had not compared it to the spirit animal potion, but they were close enough.
"Do we agree then? That the potions that they drank changed their behavior and the others were transformation potions?"

"Yes! That sounds about right to me. Well. Maybe it didn't really change their behavior, but brought out a part of themselves! Yes, that has to be it," Tseng decided. He watched the three who didn't transform carefully. What was the key element here?
"Makes them.. friendlier? Or something a little more? Oh man. Can you just imagine how amazing that would be? A potion that brings out one's benevolent and friendly nature for all!" he exclaimed while throwing his hands to the air.

"So could they all be the same potion?" Soren looked at the flasks curiously. It was a possibility, but they could just give the full report to the alchemist and the alchemist would know whether or not they were or not. Potions and such were not his area of expertise, and he had no desire to really learn about them. He began to gather some of the bottles up.
At the idea of a potion to make someone friendly...well that sounded awful. But the more he thought about it, the more useful it could be. "Yes, if a potion was slipped to an enemy it would be easier to take them by surprise, and it may make them less willing to fight. It could be a useful tool." He was not as concerned about it being honorable as he was thinking about the devastation the clan could wreck. He was almost beginning to smile. Maybe the potions did make everyone friendlier.

Tseng's eyes lit up at the idea of it being used on an enemy. Why of course!
"YES! Not only will it make them less willing but it's possible the transformation potion would make them less useful in battle as well! Imagine a nasty being turned into a chicken! Not very threatening at that point any longer now are they?" he smiled. Of course there was a chance they could be turned into something dangerous, but right now that didn't seem to be too much of a case.
"This is wonderful!"

If their enemies turned soft or to tiny little wolves that flew around with their butts he was confident they "The alchemist may be on to something, so we should report our findings to them soon." He debated tucking one of the flasks away for use later, but as they had not observed the effect to see if, and when, they would wear off he decided against it.
"Do you think we need to do anything else for these students?" If not he was ready to go back and make his report. Five sampled the draughts, one transformed into a wolf with butterfly wings on its butt, one alpaca, and three began to care for individuals more than was apparently normal. Fairly straight forward all in all.

Tseng nodded wholeheartedly to that before glancing at the nearby students. Hm...
"I think they'll be just fine on their own! Come. Let's go ahead and report the results. I bet that clansman will be excited to hear them!" he said before turning to the others.
"Time to close up shop! Thank you all for your help. Good day!" he chimed before bowing down to them all. Turning back to Soren, he nodded and began to head back to the reserve.

Once they made it back to the reserve it was just a matter of finding the alchemist. That in and of itself was it's own trial, but once he was found Soren informed him with the very basics of the results as e had seen them (brought out something in the students, one tiny butt-winged wolf, one alpaca, three affectionate students). That task completed he was on his way, off to work on whatever else needed to be done.
((just in case we needed an actually report post, sorry for delay/phone tagness))
