Star grumbled faintly when Tambrey shrugged off the responsibility of finding him a new table by herself.

He finished pulling his boot back on, took hold of the side of his bed and gingerly pushed himself upright. "So we agree that until a new table is located, I'm going to continue using these." It was a statement, not a question.

"Unless someone moves 'em." Tambrey added to the end without missing a beat.
There were bound to be chances for that, after all, she thought.
She went to stand near, sort of awkwardly offering support after she'd watched him pull himself back upright.
"That's something we could worry 'bout later though really... Probably better to get you, uh, re-patched up first, right?"

Star arched an eyebrow as Tambrey blatantly offered him support. He attempted a step, cringed, then reluctantly put an arm on her shoulder. Accepting help walking was embarrassing. Accepting it from someone who came up to his chest was awkward and embarrassing. He wasn't sure how this was going to work exactly, but he did his best to head toward the door while leaning on Tambrey. Fortunately he was an accomplished huncher. "You can put that thing in its ball when you get back.." He muttered in reference to Wheatley, who was still hiding under Tambrey's bed. It's over there.." He gestured vaguely at 'his' tables, where said ball was sitting beside a screwdriver.

The height difference was pretty funny... if you were looking at it from 'outside' the roles. As support, Tambrey wasn't sure quite what to make of this; sure he was spindly, but it was still a... bit like having a sickly, walking tree use one like a crutch.
She had offered though and was going to help as best she could.
To be honest, as terrifying as an electric type might be, Tambrey found herself wanting to spend a little more time observing the Magnemite. Maybe she'd sneakily try and and give him 5 minutes of 'play' with Treestar or something before she carried out Star's instruction.
"Heh. Okay." She agreed as they moved to the door, glancing back to see where he indicated. "Ball over there. Got it. 'Thing' is kind o' cute by the way, even if 's a little... 'zappy'... Interesting, uh, 'shell' on it." Apparently she'd taken 'Thing' to be the pokemon's name.

Star sighed, "..its name is Wheatley.. and don't get too attached. He's a broken experiment. I dabbled in pokémon combat augmentation a while back. His mechanical upgrades work but overall the project was a failure. He's useless." He grunted, attempting to reposition himself against Tambrey as he limped out the door. He felt ridiculous trying to properly lean into the small Rocket. "As you saw."

"Hey, he fried both y'r bird and you..." And Ella. Hm. She'd have to check on the little steel type as soon as she could; she'd be safe enough in her ball at least.
"Wheatley can't be all that useless 'ven if 't was an accident." She smirked then, realising that Star could either take this as praise for his work on the electric type... or an insult about getting 'fried' by the 'failure'. Tambrey was curious, really, to see which he'd take, if any.
"Hey, ow." She protested a little as a bony limb sort of dug into her on re-positioning and shrugged herself a little to try and 'undo' the jabbing. "Y're kind of 'pointy'."

"He is useless." Star insisted, sounding annoyed. "He can't fight. He can generate electricity but he can't control its direction." He sighed grumpily, "His attacks are strong because of the treatments I gave him. I exposed him to high-powered electromagnets. It had a positive effect on his power output but it did something to his brain.." He gestured vaguely in the direction of his head, "Spends half his time getting stuck to metal chairs and forgetting how to float upright. All he can do with any reliability any more is power a wire plugged directly into him." He frowned, "...had to scrap the entire project. All that time and research just gone." He blinked as Tambrey complained about his elbow digging into her neck. "Yeah well you're kind of short." He answered defensively as he repositioned himself again.

A door about five paces ahead swung open, admitting Lore into the hall. The door in question led to the showers, explaining his wet hair and the towel draped over his shoulders. He was dressed in a loose tshirt, pajama pants and flip flops.

As he took a right turn toward his room he was confronted with the awkward pair and stumbled to a stop, blinking. He tilted his head and whispered, "Tambrey... don't move. You've got a giant spider on you...."

Star glared.

"Well... Y' ve kept him around, and clearly the power he -can- output kind of indicates that your work might have been impressive." The 'might' was very carefully placed after she'd been called 'short'. "And I am not short! Y're just half-tree." Well, she was a little short maybe.

She blinked a little as an opening door revealed a familiar figure and quickly closed her mouth on the argument, smirking at his 'greeting'.
"Oh, I know. 'S hurt a leg though, and 'm taking somewhere safer than the room. Got a bug-zapper in there."
It probably wasn't -so- wise to join in the banter with Star all 'jabby' and -right there-, but Lore was fun and she couldn't quite help it.

"My work is always impressive.."

"Oh dear.." Lore turned a critical stare toward Star's legs, "Just one leg, or all eight?"

Star tensed, "Stop it! There's nothing wrong with the way I look!" He attempted to straighten up, since he did look a lot more regal when he assumed the right posture. Unfortunately the new stance put pressure on his leg, forcing him to yelp and practically fall on Tambrey.

Lore chuckled and approached, "Alright alright, no need for that. Tambrey'n me are just jealous." He smirked, then looked at the shorter of the two rockets, now half covered by the lanky set of limbs that'd collapsed on her, "Y'need help?"

"Of course 't is." It wasn't really a lie; the things she was aware of, that Star had made, were really rather neat, but she kept the slightly tongue-in-cheek tone to keep it from being too obvious.

She grinned a little at Lore's comments, but widened her eyes at Star's reaction, realising what was about to happen about a half second before it did.
As Star fell on her, she grunted and would have flailed if hadn't meant she'd probably end up dropping him on the floor.
He might have been thin, but it was still very awkward, and, in thought, she recalled her tree comment as she called out to Lore, slightly panicked.
"Yes! Please! Getimoff, getimoff!"

Lore couldn't help but laugh at the pair. It was a good-natured laugh; not mean or making fun. Just acknowledging that the scene in the hall was pretty hilarious. "Okay, let's see here." Smirking, he approached Tambrey and took hold of Star under one arm. With a grunt and a bit of effort, he crouched, looped an arm under Star's legs and stood up again, pulling Star away from the smaller Grunt.

Star stared a moment, struggling to process the fact Lore had just scooped him off the ground and was now holding him in the same way a groom might carry his bride. Something clicked in his head and he immediately started flailing, "Put me down you fool what are you doing?!"

"Whoa whoa!" Lore's head jerked out of the way of a swinging elbow, "Calm down!"

"I will not!! Put me down this instant! You can't carry me like this!!"

"I'unno I think I can. You're like twelve feet tall but you've got very little mass."

"I SAID PUT ME DOWN!"

It likely was funny out from under the tree, but all Tam' could think immediately before Star was plucked from the tangle he'd become, was that it, no matter how tall her was, it was kind of embarrassing to end up 'stuck' under someone who didn't really... Well, what Lore had just said.
She was standing properly and brushing herself off as she turned her head to watch how Lore was holding Star... and immediately had a tiny fit of giggles.
She ducked away from from them a little as Star flailed, reigning in some amusement in order to speak over the shouting.
"Heh, uh... It'd probably be better if we kept the number of injured to 'one' so... He might have a decent suggestion there; 's all flapping and dangerous like that..."

"Okay yeah you make a good point.. gonna catch someone in the head with a heel or something..."

Star tensed and suddenly shifted from flailing to aiming a punch for Lore's head.

Fortunately Lore was paying attention and saw the incoming fist. "Hey!" He dropped Star's legs, keeping hold on his upper half so the other man wouldn't fall over. The sudden shift redirected the trajectory of Star's punch, allowing Lore to dodge it.

"Wow that hit a nerve. Ixnay on footware jokes. Noted."

Star stumbled, forced to lean heavily on Lore's arm to keep from toppling over. "Why are you even here?! Just go away!"

"Aww.. don't be like that. I'm helping."
PostPosted: Thu May 03, 2012 2:18 pm

"But... That was only half a joke..." Tambrey mumbled, switching her volume down to 'lowest' as soon as she'd let 'but' escape her mouth; it wasn't coming out right and probably wasn't a good comment to make. 'Catching someone with a heel' was, she considered, a real 'danger' here rather than a joke one, but Star's reaction had been to throw a punch... Which resulted in a series of actions that, to Tambrey, made Star look a little like some drunken marionette, attempting to loose itself from its own strings.

She attempted to smile, without the giggling this time, at the pair as she, apparently, felt like trying to reason with her room mate.
"He's right; 's helping. Like ya said, I'm a bit 'short' and he's taller, a bit, so 's a better 'crutch'. If you stop fighting, we might get there a little easier."

Star turned a glare on Tambrey, then looked back at Lore.

Lore was still smiling pleasantly, unbothered by the fact Star'd tried to hit him.

Star's eyes narrowed and he lifted his chin, "No carrying. And stop mocking me."

Lore offered a salute.

"Hmpf..." Looking extremely annoyed, he allowed the brown-haired Rocket to help him down the hall.

Lore offered Tambrey a smile.
