The weapon did not answer, so Ofelia took it upon herself to smack the monster again. Maybe FEAR taste, insanity taste, would help her talk?
Nope, Rue was silent as a grave.

". . . a fair point there. Didja hear that Rue?" Ofelia took one of the knuckledusters off and threw it, prompting the monster to. . .follow of sorts? It managed to hit it somewhat but now she only had one on her hand. Oops.
I was desperate to get out of there so I took whatever I could. Having a brief respite before going back didn't seem like a bad idea, so hurry up and die. Also, stop throwing me you useless-.
"Rue says it was either pick me or jus' stay in there forever." Ofelia paraphrased, but usually Rue approved of that.

"What does chintzy mean?" Ofelia probably shouldn't have thrown Rue's second half, it was hard to fight with only one hand on account of her bare knuckles not doing much damage. She did manage to strike as she went to get back her weapon's other half but Harrison's words caught her attention. She'd never heard that word before so she was curious.

"She's not but Ah throw 'er anyway. She's gonna b***h at me regardless'a what Ah do so Ah might as well do fuuuuuuu -" The monster got her as she grabbed at Rue, a strong slap getting her wrist before she could place the other knuckleduster back onto her hand. A massive red welt was forming and she frowned at it, the motion of trying to get her weapon on the only way she properly attacked.
Why wasn't this stupid thing dead yet.

Well, she could listen to Rue but Ofelia was mildly aware that Harrison probably had no idea the amount of verbal abuse that she went through just to get Rue to be silent at night for her. Of course not everyone could get along with their weapons, that was just the truth, and Ofelia was about to say something when another slap got her against the leg.
This one actually sent her down, not that it was hard but because her FEAR shield was at a quarter of its strength and she'd been running around like an idiot. "Ah'll try an' listen ta her more, but if she's starts singin' 'Daisy Belle' Ah'm outta here."
Ofelia didn't sound so tough while laying face down on the ground.

A strike got in any way, and Ofie went down.
Harrison backed up beside her, swords up.
"Can you get up? I don't know how much more this thing's got in him. ....You need me to carry you back?"

The monster was getting close, Ofelia could see that, and even though Harrison asked her a question she pushed to her feet and staggered forward, taking a swipe again at the monster. This time it connected, a bit harder than the others, and the monster let out a shriek before it vanished into the air. It left behind a faint murmur of voices but they were gone before Ofelia could even notice what was being said.
"Oh. Ah guess it's done now." She dropped onto her knees, legs splayed beneath her in an awkward position. The sun teen was wheezing and the look of pain on her face was evident even if she was just trying to shrug it off like nothing happened. However a voice in her head chimed in, always more than ready to rub salt in a wound and somehow manage to get touched by a guy.
Let him carry you back for now. You deserve some form of pity seeing as you went down so badly. Oh yes, just like Rue to always have a pick me up.
"Um. . . Ah think Ah'm okay, jus' really kinda dizzy. Hurts a bit ta breathe though."

"Ugh....Ah'll take ya up on that offer, thank ya muchly." Ofelia wasn't going to go anywhere so long as she let her pride take over. Pride didn't make her legs move, sadly. "Ah'll make sure ta repay ya proper an' in full fer all'a this."
Also she probably wouldn't be going anywhere alone any time soon again.
