Harrison shrugged grudgingly. "Fine, after they healed up. They don't hurt anything. ...No bag, huh?."
He grinned lopsidedly at her.
"Yeah, I know what your type is, too. Guys with an education, right?" If the Christmas thing had turned out to be a fluke, Harrison would have steered Candace in Jordan's direction. "Can't say I saw the appeal until recently, but I don't blame you-"
At the sound of hoofbeats, Harrison yanked Candace flat against the wall.

Candace's eyes widened and her cheeks flushed. "W-well...it used..to be teachers specifically but...lately I've been, uh..is it that obvious?" She asked with a chuckle, scratching at her cheek and looking away. "Educated men are hot. If they wear glasses? Bonus...H wears glasses for reading.." Candace cleared her throat and moved off Harrison, shaking her head. Don't think about that. This is definitely not the time, especially with an angry monster coming at the--HI WALL HOW ARE YOU DOING TODAY? Candace stared at the wall. "You again? We need to stop meeting like this."
She pushed off the wall once the coast was clear, getting a grip on the creature's side. It thrashed and tried to shove her into a wall again to knock her off, but she got onto its back before it could. Candace sat, holding on tightly and bringing her foot down.
The creature's head lobbed right off and the creature dissipated with a shriek. Candace hit the ground, grunting and rubbing her back as she landed. ******** that hurt. But easy! So easy..

"It was the glasses." Harrison seemed almost cheery. "Nah, just a stab in the dark. Since all I know about your type is Teachers, Doctors, and not me. What do you think, maybe I should have aimed for medical school? Then instead of listening for Monsters the only thing I'd hear all day was Paging Doctor Hughes."
He waited nearby, in case the thing tried to gore Candace, but she had it pretty well handled.

What was the glasses? Candace blinked. "..What about glasses?" She frowned. "Does..my 'type' have anything to do with why you wore glasses at Jerry's music club auditions?" She then tried to imagine Harrison as a doctor. Suit, lab coat, glasses..PFFFFT. Candace laughed, reaching up for Harrison to help her stand. "Oh, doctor~. Can you help me? I think I'm getting a chest cold." She laughed again, shaking her head.
"Oh man, that'd be very different. You'd probably still be here, just a Life hunter." She felt better now, the whispers nearly silent as she got to her feet. "That looks to be it so far. Let's hurry back before we get swarmed or something."

"Heh. Might have. Wasn't trying to figure you out though, I was trying to figure Jerry out. ...What was the deal with him and Jordan, anyhow?"
She'd mentioned Robert too (speaking of Life Hunters), but that didn't interest Harrison as much.
Something small skittered between Harrison's feet.
"Dammit! Look out!" He said, hopping so it wouldn't get his ankle.Quote: 11-32: A small, semi-solid creature snatches at you with painful claws and teeth. Mob Stats HP: 5 Auto Damage: 2 (hit or miss)

"...You could've asked me." Candace raised a brow. "They were drunk." She shrugged, not looking terribly bothered by it anymore. It had upset her at the time but.. "I wasn't really allowed to be angry. I mean, I could've been but not with good conscience. Oh no Jerry how dare you let Jordan kiss you that's so terrible how could you cheat on me.." Her voice was flat as she said this. "I was already, uh, getting doctored at the time so...I was mostly upset about the drinking. Jordan though? He felt so bad. He apologized as he ran away and then apologized to me the next day. Heh, I probably upset him most of anyone aside from Jerry and myself." He probably hated her, which she couldn't blame him. He'd wanted Jerry for himself, but she'd taken him instead and then did what she'd done. It was terrible of her.
When Harrison told her to look out Candace looked down at the floor, watching something skitter around by their feet. It stopped, staring up at them. "Awww! It's kinda cute!" Then it bit her ankle. She hissed, punting it into the wall. "Son of a b***h!"

"Hold still," Harrison said, flipping the sword to an icepick hold and attempting to stab that rat right into the floor, without skewering Candace. The rat jumped at the last second, dodging the sword and latching right onto Harrison's face.

Harrison came to her rescue. Sort of. But now it was on his face.
How many hunters does it take to kill a rat?
She growled, grabbing the rat to pull it off his face. The rat turned around and bit her hand. "That was so ******** annoying. Your face okay?"

"I think I got fograt hair up my nose," Harrison said, wiping it furiously. B0nez had taken care of the potential claw and teeth damage. He wasn't even scratched.
He sniffed and kept rubbing.
"Drunk," he repeated, re: their previous conversation. He laughed. At least he had the excuse of being completely tanked. "Poor Jordan," He said, laughing again. And embarrassed about it too. Who wouldn't be. "Nothing serious, then. I figured it wasn't."

Candace snorted. "You shall become fograt man. A magical super hero." She teased, keeping Atropos summoned as she traveled down the hall just in case.
Harrison repeated something she had said earlier and she hummed, looking his way. Poor Jordan..nothing serious...
...Harrison didn't need to know. If he ever found out it would be from Jordan, not from her. Candace smiled. "Yeah, he and Jerry were just hanging out and when I came to see Jerry there they were. It's a little funny to think about now, huh?" Yes, that's right. That situation was just an embarrassing string of events, not anything serious. Nothing at all. She looked away, still smiling.
"Though if you seriously wanted to know what the appeal to Jerry is..you could've asked me. Despite everything I am--...was attracted to him." Her cheeks flushed as she said that, rubbing the back of her neck. "I mean come on...I told you he was bad at sex." She gave Harrison a look. "You can't think of any reason someone would want to still sleep with someone who's bad at it?" Think about it.
Seriously now.
"And..he's sweet when he's not...having a nervous breakdown. I wish I could help him but I only ever make it worse." She frowned again, slipping her hands into her pockets and looking down at the ground. "He hates me. He has every right to just...it hurts, y'know? We agreed to attempt to be friends and all but seeing how happy someone like Sasha makes him...and it's...it's not me doing it. I-it's not f-ff-fair that I have to..to watch that." Her eyes burned and she sniffed, shaking her head and looking up at the ceiling now. Candace didn't get many chances to actually talk about her feelings with anyone, she wasn't comfortable with it anyway. She hated to show vulnerability to anyone, Harrison included. She cleared her throat and gave a shaky laugh, raising a hand to wipe at her eyes and still refusing to look at Harrison.
"So uh...you and Jordan? Are you two finally..?" Subject change. Please.

"Oh, I can think of reasons. Like, if you been married for a hundred years. Or if they're rich. Or got one hell of a personality. But Jerry's a wreck. And I thought, against the odds, he was leaving this trail of broken hearts, and hearts of folks he shouldn't have been near in the first place. I know you messed up, but he's an idiot for dropping you."
He couldn't help smiling at the mention of Jerry and Sasha. "By the time he gets through with Sasha, there'll be nothing left but little pieces. ...At least she'll deserve it."
Harrison made a non-commital noise at the subject change. "I don't know. I was gonna ask him out if we both made it back okay, but things got kinda complicated on the mission. Now I don't know what we're doing. Well. I guess I kinda know, but-" he sighed, "we're all stuck here in this bunker until who knows when. I haven't talked to him yet."

"One of the secrets is in his pants, Thirteen." Candace corrected him first. Though as Harrison kept on she frowned, scratching at her cheek. This conversation was probably needed but it was making her uncomfortable. Her heart raced, and she wanted to slap Harrison for speaking ill of Jerry...though it was all true, really. "He used to be really nice. And he was thoughtful, and he'd do anything to make me happy...and it was..it was nice." She dropped her hand to wring her hands together, clearing her throat. "My...my mother..ah...my father isn't..the man my mother married." Candace explained quietly. "She had an affair with my father, and I was the product of it...and even when my dad knew it to be clear as day he still...he..didn't leave her. He didn't even...get angry as far as I know. I hated it." She sniffed, raising a hand to rub one of her eyes. "I s-swore I'd never..be her. I'd never do what sh-she-e did, you know?" Ugh. Stop it. Stop it. She was so glad Harrison was the only one here. She sniffed again and coughed, rubbing her face with both hands. "An-and then I did e-exa-actly what she did. I'mso..stupid!" She kicked at air, wishing there was something there for her to hit. "Tha-that's what pi-isses me off abou-out this. I broke my own goddamn promise an-and went aga-against something I stoo-stood strong against ********> She whimpered, shaking her head and rubbing her eyes. No. No. Tears. Stop. Stop it. Stop ******** crying.
"H s-said Jerry was mi-issing out, too. But while I..l-lo--...admire the doctor he's...he's not.." She choked a bit, covering it up with a laugh. "He's not a one woman man. I-I could never ask that of him. I-it'd never happen. A-as long as I can talk to him I'm okay." She sniffed. "It was nice being someone's...special someone. To be theirs, and have someone who was mine. ********> Candace sounded bitter as she called herself this, her words laced with disgust and self-loathing.
She paused long enough in her ranting to hear Harrison try to assure her about Sasha and Jerry. Candace frowned. "I like Sasha." She mumbled half-heartedly. She did like Sasha, though lately all of her thoughts toward the girl were bitter and jealous. "She...she makes him happy...they deserve each other..sh-she's everything he wants. Sweet, t-talented, in-innocent.."
Candace really wished Harrison would stick with the subject change. She wanted that. She didn't want to talk about it anymore. "Jordan's a good guy." Candace chuckled, smiling and wiping away more tears. "C-complicated? Harrison, you're talking to someone who knows complicated on a first name basis. What happened?"
