She was tired, and needed to get to safety. The last attack he managed to block but for how long? He doubted he could keep up that level of a defense.
"Go. I'll cover you." She wasn't running but he didn't want her to waste time. "I said go Cass." His voice was cold, his focus on the creature. the voices in his head drowned out by Dis's laughter and call for FEAR. Stabbing out at it, he felt it cut into him yet still, he wasn't going to back down if he could help it.

Cass didn't need to be told twice. She didn't linger for long until she turned to take her leave. "Stay safe! I love you!" Not that he didn't already know, but he was right. What energy she had left had to go into getting out of there.
So as she was bid, the Mist Trainee went down the closest flight of stairs and off to grab a portal back to the tunnels, leaving the task of cleaning up after her to Marcus. Which was a shame, but...
Better to let him work and not worry about her anymore.

Looking back briefly, he let out a sigh of relief as Cass made it off to safety. He might not have to worry about her now, but her certainly had to worry about himself. "Alright," Dis gave a glow, begging for another meal of FEAR, "lets see what we can do." Slashing out, he did better than before, but it wasn't enough, the creature getting him in return. Jesus ******** Cass.
You knew how to attract the worse types. Like him.

Dis was close to having a full charge, but really, he needed to be careful, the creature proving as it attacked again that Marcus was against stacked odds. Gripping the blade steady, he swung, feeling the vampire purr as it got another 'bite' in.

Stacked odds and a charge, and the moon trainee didn't have second thoughts as he lashed out at the creature. Feeling the weapon laughing gleefully in his head. Though Marcus needed to learn to avoid an attack, it got the creature, sending it briefly back.
Just a bit more Cass, then he'd be back.

Another slash to the creature, another to his torso, feeling the sting getting a little closer to his skin then he'd have liked.

He felt it bite into him again as he stabbed at it. It was close now, and Dis was purring at him for more FEAR. More to 'feed' from. He wanted to kill, go back to Cass, cuddle. If she'd have him. The voices were insistent she didn't. That no one did. But how did he want to be wanted- his fear, his vice.

It had to end. It just did. Cass couldn't keep it up, and neither could he. Dis purring for another meal, Marcus might have gotten hit again, but he grinned as he saw the creature fall, fading to FEAR. Dead as dead could be.
For a moment he reached to his phone, to call Cass and tell her he was on his way back. That thought was dropped as he realized that she'd gone and broken her phone. Sighing he went back, eager to take the portal to safety. To Cass. To Home.
