Question was, did Seth really want to give it the effort. But he could at least say something that the other man wanted to hear.
"You've given me something to think about. I'll considerate it."
Which he probably would, but whether or not he actually did anything about it was another matter. This man was a complete stranger and he didn't need to promise him anything.

Well that was better than nothing, and more than one should really expect of a stranger.... Even a stranger one knew something of. Dith finished his cake and sipped at the last of his coffee. "I'm glad," he said with a slight nod, "I hope you can work something out to make yourself happier." He couldn't exactly wish him misery just for being Nadja's ex; every story had two sides. He couldn't help a little seed of dislike though, but he supposed that was only human.
The whole thing was unspeakably awkward overall and Dith was glad when he was finally able to make his excuses and leave the conversation behind him.
