Darion chuckled nervously as the ice path was shattered.He chuckled again at Yajuu's request."Well since you asked so nicely." Darion coughed in embarrassment."I apologize for the path of ice, is was the only way to cross the water, seeing how building a raft would have taken much longer...Anyways! What is this ingredient you need and what should we expect, you know because nothing is ever easy on this island. " Darion wasn't naive to expect that this was going to be out of harms way, in fact he wouldn't be surprised if this ingredient came from a monster of some sort.

"I'm glad to see you're catching onto the challenge." Yajuu nodded as he lightly touched the surface of his spiritual waters with the tip of his finger. The ripples it caused immediately shifted colors in the water. Light gleamed off the surface and showed the same Medusa-like creature Jack and Darion came across on their first test, rising out of the murky swamp water to slither onto a nearby bank. "What I need is the hair of a snake. The beauty of the swamp should meet that requirement best." Yajuu smirked menacingly at the water and glanced at his students with feral, golden eyes. "Kill her if you must, but I prefer my ingredients to be fresh. If you can manage to bring her back alive I'll give you both an added reward."

Darion grinned a bit as he turned to Yajuu."This shouldn't be a problem for me,I could freeze her and bring her here for you., however that may be more difficult then it sounds..." Darion had a feeling they would have to run into her again. He hoped Jack was ready for this fight."I don't suppose you could save us the trouble and point us to where exactly she is." Darion heavily doubted that Yajuu was going to tell them where she was and save them the time.

Yajuu stood up and stepped away from the bank, and the image in the water vanished within the ripples. "The Echidna rests in the same place. You have met her before, so you know where you must go." He then pointed a sharp-nailed finger back the way Darion and Jack first came. "The Serpent Marsh"

Jack knew what the Beast was asking of him, and he had to say that he wasn't necessarily happy about the prospect of fighting such a beast. Fighting without directly looking at her seemed slightly difficult...much less capture her. If they were going to fight such a demon, he would need as much power as humanely possible, so in this instance, he wasn't afraid to ask questions. Finally Jack spoke up, "The Echidna, as you so call her, bears an awfully similar resemblance to the ancient Greek creature Medusa. Legend tells that men who look upon her visage fall to stone, so I am guessing that a prime strategy to fighting her is to not look at her. An interesting challenge, but possibly quiet a difficult one. Can you indulge in any information regarding the weaknesses of the Echidna, despite the obvious one of having her stare at her own reflection...which I would imagine would render her useless to you considering that her head would then be pure stone". He was going off of entirely of what he heard from legends, and in some of those stories, the Medusa was defeated by having her stare at her own reflection. If Yajuu would not give the two men the appropriate info on her weaknesses, at least Yajuu would point out what not to do when fighting her, since Jack raised quite a serious concern.

Yajuu scoffed at Jack's assumptions. "You read too many story books." He said. "The Echidna does not turn anything to stone, however, her glare can paralyze a man in fear for a brief moment, long enough for her to strike. It would be unwise to look upon her for too long. Even if you don't meet her eyes, her dance can be...hypnotic. On top of all that her poison is lethal, as is the snakes that she controls. You've met them before." He added, reminding Jack of the trees filled with snakes. Apparently this monster had some control over them. "Hmph, but you are both my newly born disciples. These vermin can be overcome. Trust in your nature. Now," Suddenly a bridge of ice similar to Darion's re-formed on the pond as Yajuu pointed back to the dense, ravenous jungle. "Go."

Darion smiled eagerly, a hypnotic dance? He had something to think of when that happened, No Snake woman would get the best of him, Darion followed behind jack sliding on the ice."No worries Yajuu, we won't keep you waiting long, We'll both come back with this snake woman captured so you can have your ingredients nice and fresh, just how you like them! " he said as he grew farther away. This was going to be a fight to remember.

Darion walked up caring the Medusa over his back in a thin layer of ice. Darion grunted as he gently placed her down. Darion sat down in exhaustion and in frustration. He held his side in pain and called to Yajuu. "I got the woman! ALONE!" He shouted loudly as looked at the long cut on his left side, He was smart to burn it shut before anything really happened. He waited for Yajuu to come out.

Yajuu was sitting on his personal mound of bones, eating his newest victim when Darion arrived. He chewed barbarically on the giant leg of what looked like some kinda cross between a jaguar and a wildebeest, the skin of which had been charred to a smoky black. Yet there wasn't a bonfire in sight, so one could wonder how this would-be predator got so burned. "Heh, I saw." The Wendigo replied as he turned to Darion, wearing a wide and blood-soaked grin. "And without that other pale fleshling as well, I'm a little surprised. I had thought it was him who had the better stomach." The water in Yajuu's serene pond froze over to create a bridge for Darion to cross over on. "Come come! I must harvest her before she awakes."

Darion stood up and lifted the Medusa creature, he shook his head in disappointment."That's where you got it all wrong. If you didn't notice I always ended up saving his life. You made a wrong choice including him with tasks such as these." He said as he quickly brought the frozen woman to the wild man. Darion looked at the man's bloodied face and began to wonder what he was eating, could had been any failed abomination from these woods. Darion then quickly remembered two things. "So I did what you asked, I brought her back alive and alone as well... That wouldn't happen to sweeten the prize a bit? I got a tournament coming up and I know what I'm going up against. They know everything about me yet I'll only know so little about them." Darion cracked his neck as he spoke. He continued,"You wouldn't mind teaching me a couple of sweet tricks to get an advantage over them, would you? I mean you're practically the closest thing I have to a teacher..." He then looked at Yajuu seriously, Darion wanted to get stronger quickly and he knew Yajuu was his best bet. He hoped that this would play out accordingly.

Yajuu glanced at the student before taking another bite out of his meal. He thought over the fleshling's request while he chewed and looked at the frozen medusa. "It is natural to be ambitious. I like that. Fine, here's your prize. Cherish it well." Yajuu reached into his pocket and then tossed Darion a six-inch long ragged doll made of cloth, with stitches for eyes. A strange X was also stitched over a section of its chest where its heart should've been. "As an added bonus, I'll tell you exactly how you can use that thing. Heheheh." The beast-man chuckled maniacally under his breath and then sank a row of fangs into his meal again for another bite.

Darion held the rag doll and tilted his head. It looked kind of stereotypical for a man who lived in the jungle and practiced voodoo."Looks like a voodoo doll... Will it work on anyone? Actually, a better question would be, will it work only one person." Darion said as he examined it and then looked up at the man eating his meal. Darion's stomach growled, he was kind of hungry and Yajuu seemed to be able to eat raw meat without any consequence."This may seem weird of me to ask but how does human flesh taste? I mean to be honest I compare you to most of the other teachers and you seem to be the strongest out of everyone. Is it your diet or your training? Whatever it is I'm interested in it..." Darion said as he looked over to the pile of bones and over at the shrine. He was very curious about Yajuu, he seemed insanely tough, Darion would do whatever it would take to become as strong as him.
