Shehk seemed to notice when Jericho went up the tree, barking and pacing around the bottom of it, watching him and his furry target as it skittered about.
But her excitement when it jumped was possibly only dwarfed by her excitement over flying, bouncing up on her hind legs and pawing at the air as she barked. Sadly, the thing didn't even have a chance before she grabbed onto it, sinking her teeth into the fuzzy rodent and swinging her head around back and forth with it, growling.
RrrrrRRRrrrrrr.
RRRRR!!
She'd show it!
However, her excitement was short lived as another squirrel went running past and she went running after it, the fuzzy one that Jericho had pretty much dropped into her jaws still in her mouth, tail wagging as she moved after it quickly.
In fact, she overtook it and began to do another thing canines did well - herd. The pricolici made a point of chasing it right up the tree the other one had just dropped out of, looking up and wagging her tail.

"Nice catch!" he called down, noticing her snag the not-really-flying squirrel. Jericho then swooped on down through the trees, suppressing the urge to unleash his flames onto the little beasties. No, he did not want to set Shehk on fire too.
Though, he was quick to notice that she had chased another right up the tree. Raising a brow at her, he grinned before doing the same as he did before. Fly after the squirrel until it got desperate enough to fling itself towards the ground to try and get away from the big bad flying predator.
And it worked!

Did she drop the squirrel she had to catch the new one? Did she try to get both and hold onto the one she had? Oh the decisions she had to make in that split moment of being a dog.
When the squirrel hit the ground, she pounced onto it, holding it down with both paws and wagging her tail as she watched it - fascinated with the way it wiggled. She barked, dropping the first one that had done it's leaping escape right into her grasp just to bite at the other one. Shehk carried it around, its head in her mouth as she half pranced, seeming to be entirely pleased as she carried it back to the wooden crate then went to retrieve the other one.
A pile of squirrels.
Once she was sure that nobody would take them by rubbing her scent all over the crate, she went running back into the trees to find another, practically prancing.
Even without the flying-down-from-the-trees route of capture that was so entertaining, however, she was able to grab up another one relatively easily - she was a rather speedy little thing, after all. However, with the third one caught she paused, looking up at the dragon and barking questioningly.

Once the squirrel was down, Jericho dove back to the ground. He wanted to catch one of his own too! He didn't notice what Shehk was doing over by the crate as he kept an eye out for any quick movements. Ah! Over there. Landing back onto the ground, he broke off into a sprint after the squirrel before launching himself at it.
As he hit the dirt, he had caught the little squirmy rodent before looking up as he heard a bark.
"Hm?" he blinked while looking towards the Pricolici, squeezing the wriggling creature in his claws.

"Did you not want that one?" she asked, turning her head towards her squirrel pile before tilting her head, half-crunching on the one she currently had, its head seeming to be like chalk in her skeletal jaws, watching him with the squirrel in his hands before making an amused noise, getting up and pacing between the trees, sniffing.
After a moment, she dove into a bush causing it to rustle all over, barking and making a purposeful racket before she chased another squirrel out of it and making a point to chase it towards the Dragon.

"Oh. I have one right here," Jericho grinned before snapping the squirrel so he could eat it soon. He didn't want it to be running off again while he went to catch another. The dragon made his way to drop his off into the pile, then rushed back out to go try and catch another. Oh wait. One was being led to him!
With a grin he got ready before pouncing onto it, slamming pretty hard into the furry critter as his claws snatched it.
"Hah! Got another one!"

"I meant the one I lead up to you and then you tossed it right back, silly!" she half pranced, holding the squirrel down against the crate with one paw as she pulled the head she'd been chewing on off before she sat, watching Jericho as her tail wagged.
"You did! I'll turn you into a mighty squirrel hunter yet!" she seemed to laugh as she settled onto her stomach, watching him as he wrestled with the squirrels in his claws, tail thumping against the ground.

Jericho blinked, then let out a laugh at her words.
"Oh that was for me? I thought you just wanted to play catch again!" he chuckled before noticing the squirrel nearly squirming out of his grasp. Eyes widening, he fumbled with the little beasty, clawing at it until he finally had a good hold of it once more.
Taking in a breath, he soon spewed a bit of flame onto it to roast it quickly. Mmm that smelled good. From there, he began to gnaw away at it.
"How's yours?"

"I was offering you a trade, silly!" she laughed, rolling over onto her back and rubbing it against the ground before she stretched out and rolled back onto her stomach. "Though the catch was fun! Unexpected, but fun!"
Shehk sat there for a while, just chewing on the carcass of the squirrel she'd bitten the head off of, making a mess of her snout as she ate, the poor thing's crunching underneath her jaws as she munched away, tail thumping against the ground. Only once she'd finished it up did she get up again, shaking out her fur and making the motion to shift back into her humanoid body.
The transformation came with a stretch as she fidgeted between the two forms before picking up another squirrel and moving over to settle next to the dragon with it.
"It's the way I always like it." she answered with a grin, "How about yours?" Her head tilted a bit, watching the roasting before she just went with her typical standby - bite into it and probably make a mess. She wasn't a clean eater, sadly.

Jericho laughed before taking a few bites out of the squirrel he had. Ah. There was nothing quite like a freshly charred kill. Granted, deer was meatier and tastier in general, but this was still good. As Shehk came to sat by him, he continued to nom away.
"Just the way I always like it too," he grinned, "Nice and charred. Don't supposed you'd like to have yours roasted too right?"
He knew the answer to that already, but he thought he'd ask anyway.

"Nah, but I appreciate the offer." she answered, shaking her head as she leaned back onto one hand, the squirrel being handled like a strange sandwich - even if it was mostly bone and fur. But she'd eaten through worse and the bone was picked off pretty easily.
"How long did it take you to round up all those squirrels, anyways?" Shehk asked as she passed a glance off into the trees, thinking about that easy handful of squirrels that neither of them had caught.

Crunching on some of the bone, Jericho took a moment before he went on to answer the Pricolici.
"Hmm.... about a day or two. I just spent some time tracking them down and catching them all to put into the crate," he said before chuckling, "It was a bit of work but I'd say that was worth it!"

"A couple of days? That's quite a bit of time to put into a little squirrel hunt. But I can't judge you for it. I mean, I did run around all over to set up a treasure hunt." she laughed, "But it was definitely fun for me. I enjoyed that."
Looking over to him, she tilted her head a bit. "I take it you had fun too? I mean, I never thought of you to be the kind of person to chase down squirrels. That always kind of seemed like my thing, so I'll confess this was about the last thing I was expecting."

"Well that's good to hear," Jericho grinned. He was rather happy that she was having a good time with this.
"And yes! I did. I don't usually hunt squirrels, but I do enjoy hunting as a whole," he replied, "And hey, at least it was a pleasant surprise then?"

"I see you as more of a big ungulates person rather than a rodent person. Then again, I do like ungulates too, but man they're not convenient to find." Spoken like a hunter. "Hunting is fun! That whole thrill of the chase thing." she related to it easily.
"And it was! I wasn't sure what you were going to do when my finicky way of eating came into play and you said that made things easier for you." she paused, leaning in close before whispering, "Teeeeeeaaassseeeeeeeee." Obviously, the was the one teasing in this instance though, leaning back and laughing.
"Definitely had me guessing."
