He exchanged glances with Simon, slightly relieved that the assistant was not quite shooting anyone quite yet before the mission had even started, and while Allan found friendly fire endearing in any other situation, this was unfortunately, not the ordinary situation. The swarms from the Famine Clan continuously fueled themselves, their Fear nearly inexhaustible and consistently replenishing. Human nature did not have such a luxury, and yet, there was still no order from the other Council members to evacuate. It was a dangerous game they were playing, walking towards the edge of the cliff until they finally needed to jump, and politics had never been his strong point: it had always been simply do or die.
This mission was unfortunately no different.
"Alright, lemme see," It was going to get dark soon, the unrelenting condition of the desert was waning just slightly, "Let's put you guys into teams then, each one per division. Okay, Deaths, you are in charge of any of the sensitive equipment, so any forgotten cell phones, Fear scanners, those are your things, if any are working, we need these in perfect condition for later. Life Hunters, I want you to handle the- the-" he debated with himself for a second, his brain conflicting the word children with crucial information. The latter finally won. - "The weapons tablets. Any we find, these are extremely valuable as well. " A defeated sigh. "Sun and Moon hunters you are on the offensive and defensive, watch out for any signs of holl- of swarms. Large or small, you'll want to group together so you don't get overwhelmed. Take out the largest first, that usually controls the smaller groups. Lastly Mists - you are in charge of the official supplies. Water canteens, bandages, first aid kits, those are your priorities. Only take as much as you can carry, we're only staying at the most for thirty minutes before leaving, it's gonna get dark soon." Allan gave the trainees a reassuring smile, fiddling with his own wound. "It'll be fine, you got us, nothing to worry about. We are nakama, and we will always be there for each other and empower our inner strength and will."
As he turned around, he nearly ran into a rainbow blur heading the other direction, steadying her just slightly. "Whoah, Julie, slow down there, you'll take good care of the base while we're gone to salvage equipment right?"
Said Moon Hunter assistant seemed as surprised she was here as the Sun leader was. She blinked several times before the words caught up with her. "Oh! Yes! Of course, of course." She also beamed as she waved the trainees off. "Have fun on your mission, um, oh, if you see any leftover cooking equipment can you please bring this back to me, its very important."
It was nice to know that certain people still had priorities.
The trek to the actual base was rather uneventful: what ever Allan and Simon did not take care of was simply too wary to challenge the larger group at this vicinity. The most relentless element was in fact, simply the wind, buffeting sand against the trainees, rubbing against their skin and eyes. At one point there was Allan yelling at them to use their scarf, but it was half-lost to the wind funnels.
Fifteen minutes later and bits and pieces began to show up: a cell phone here, a water canteen there, even a whole supplies pack, ripped in half, contents damaged entirely. It was startlingly easy to understand what Allan meant by salvage: the entire place where the camp may have been might as well have been a digging site for goods.
The Sun lead seemed to have given up on yelling and was giving instead, visual cues, pointing to the ground close to him. Start there. Work their way outwards, slowly. Watch out for signs of danger.
OOC: SALVAGING REMAINS
- All trainees have THIRTY MINUTES: to salvage remains. Go to your division requirements and apply the timer as needed.
DEATH DIVISION:
- You are looking for cell phones and Fear Scanners. Roll a 6-sided dice. If 1, you obtain a cell phone. If 6, you obtain a Fear scanner. Every time you roll, it is ICly 5 minutes spent of searching. After your rolls are spent, you have finished ICly searching the 30 minutes, though it is best to keep interaction to a minimum unless necessary because of the torrential weather.
- Make sure to keep a track of how many items you have retrieved and how much time you have left!
LIFE DIVISION:
- You are looking for weapons tablets. Roll a 6-sided dice. If 1 OR 6, you find a weapons tablet.
SUN DIVISION:
- You are on the offensive. Occasionally you will see strange things, a spot of colour where there shouldn't be, something skittering against the ground. You need to attack and prevent the swarms from damaging the group. You are spread the furthest out of all trainees, along with the Moon Hunters.
- Roll 2 20-sided dice. The first roll is the amount of mobs you take out, the second is the damage you do to yourself. Your damage can be buffered by Moon Hunters (see below!). A Moon Hunter needs to quote you and roll a 20-sided dice to buffer your damage.
- Defense attacks CAN stack for Hunters. For instance, Moon Hunter A rolls a 16 and target Sun Hunter A. Moon Hunter B rolls a 4 and targets Sun Hunter A as well. NEXT TURN Sun Hunter A attacks, they can now subtract 20 damage away from what they would normally take.
- Each attack takes 5 minutes off your time, you have 30 minutes. Make sure to calculate as well your HP tally (please do not go below 0, any damage that hits more than 0 will automatically be rounded to zero ONCE). Also make sure to count the amount of mobs you've taken out.
MOON DIVISION:
- You are on the defensive. Occasionally you will see strange things, a spot of colour where there shouldn't be, something skittering against the ground. You need to defend the attacks and prevent the swarms from damaging the group. You are spread the furthest out of all trainees, along with the Sun Hunters.
-You need to now roll 1 20-sided dice and target ANY SUN HUNTER to determine how much damage you will buffer for that Sun Hunter the next turn. QUOTE THE DAMAGE BUFFERED TO THEM SO THEY KNOW FOR THEIR NEXT TURN.
- Defense attacks CAN stack for Hunters. For instance, I roll a 16 and target Sun Hunter A. Another person rolls a 4 and targets Sun Hunter A as well. NEXT TURN Sun Hunter A attacks, they can now subtract 20 damage away from what they would normally take.
- Each block takes 5 minutes off your time, you have 30 minutes.
MIST DIVISION:
- You are looking for any usable supplies. Roll a 6-sided dice. If 1, you find bandages. If 2, you find a water canteen. If 3, you find a first aid kit.
