It wasn't often that Bulbous had to get his own materials. More often than not, he'd send an apprentice out to harvest the needed materials. That, or he'd visit the crops and have the harvesters gather them and send them up. But no, today the harvesters were busy. His apprentice was busy. Everyone was 'busy'. The horseman let our an angry clatter from his jaw, the moth shielding his face from the sun with it's wings joining in the noise.
"Bloody grubs and maggots...No time for this... cursed exchange and miserable...." The basket in his arm was empty and as he went over to a small cluster of bright green and red flowers, he began that task of pulling then up by the root. Looking at the students he simply scoffed. "I hope none of you have had the misfortune to loose your stones or seeds. Or worse, tried to eat them."
He might have expected one of them to try.
None the less, he went back to his work, hissing with an angry clatter as one weed bit at him.

Quote: 61 - 80: You hear a strange buzzing noise, and see a small colony of bugs, what look like locusts moving in and out of the oasis area. What are they doing in a place like this? Not long after Arynek visited the oasis again, the circulation underground was not as good as she expected, she needed to visit the surface occasionally. The only reason she picked oasis is because the water seemed a cooler place in this desert-like isle, she never like the heat from the "Big Shinny Thing". When she was taking a stroll to the water, the shadow ghoul heard a odd buzz. "What's that?" Arynek wondered. Before she made a guess, the answer revealed itself. It was a group of locust-like insects, flying in and out of the area. Arynek wondered what they were doing.

Quote: 81- 100: You notice a thick black texture in the water of the oasis. It almost looks like.... oil? (see below for horsemen point prompt) - Horsemen point prompt! You also see something glint next to you, but is it just a trick of the light? Roll a 6-sided dice. If odd you obtain one horsemen point! After the insects gone, Arynek took a look into the water, thinking will she be able to see the plant that attacked her yesterday. Nope, there was no sign of that plant, instead, the shadow ghoul noticed a thick black texture in water, the water is clear enough to see through. "Is....that ....oil?"

Arynek saw something glinting, however, to her disappointment, it was the trick of the light again.....

It was late, but Shenny couldn't sleep... not that she disliked the dorms, but she was feeling for a little walk. She still wasn't feeling well enough after the crops incident, and well, who would feel good after loosing the feeling of perfect happiness? So far, her walk brought her to the little oasis pond again.

The pond was abandoned as usual, but this time Shenny took her time to study plants growing around. Her attention was caught by strange snapping leaves... For a moment she wondered, if there's something like a Herbology Compendium here, at Famine. Plants and crops appeared to play a major role in islanders' life, so there must some kind of manual dedicated to them. Shenny made a note to herself to ask somebody about it later, if she has an opportunity.

Shenny turned her head to the pond. Again, she noticed the water was dark, almost black, and sort of covered by an unusual substance, most probably an oil. May be those plants around require a specific oil-based liquid to sustain their existence?

Shenny sat on the ground near the pond contemplating water, and got dived so deep in her thoughts that she almost missed a tiny little token lying near. Good jack, she accidentally touched it moving her arm to sit more comfortably. Hm.. why are those points lying here and there on the island? Do horsemen just throw them away, or it's sort of fun point hunt game for their guests?.. Shenny carefully picked the token up, and walked away from the pond still contemplating reality around.

Strolling back to the Oasis having grown a little bit tired of being underground all the time Zurine made sure to keep a careful distance from the water, well recalling the way something had tried to drag her under the day before. In her explorations however a strange buzzing noise caught her attention and wandering towards it to explore she took note of the bugs...though for the life of her she couldn't figure out just what they were doing out here.

Quote: 1-20: The Oasis looks pretty much abandoned, except for the occasional clan member wandering around gathering supplies around the oasis. You notice an abundance of strange and different crops all patched around the oasis: from unknown herbs to strange, snapping leaves. Having watched the bugs for a bit longer Zurine then turned her attention to the area surrounding the oasis, the area seemed ot be fairly abandoned at the moment and she got the chance to examine some of the plants growing nearby..though she was careful while doing so since so many of the things on this island seemed to have it out for anyone wandering to close to them.

A soft rattling sound preceded thew strange, tall figure that approached the oasis. Dressed in soft swathes of tattered finery and lovely, if gruesome, adornments, she was a regal creature whose beauty was that of transition. Firm healthy flesh led to wasted ribs, to stark, sun-bleached bones. A cascade of flowers fell from her hair, some withering, others blooming...and if one were to watch long enough, they'd see the processes begin to reverse in a small, but impressive display of control.
The Horseman of Famine surveyed the oasis with a small tilt of her head, yellow eyes gleaming. In her hair, a small set of tiny skulls clicked against each others, and she smiled at the students gathered. Several leaved snap at her sandaled feet, but as they make contact, their form crumples and folds in on itself until what's left is not a plant at all, but a tiny, scorpion-tailed locust. Moments later the insects take flight, circles around Famine as she quietly exits the area.

After pretty much completely failing at training for the day, the lightning dragon decided to head back to the Oasis for some rest, having already found that he preferred the open sky to any of the caverns, no matter how large they were. Settling onto the same rock, he laid back and glanced around.
It didn't seem like anyone else was up here right now, except for a few random clan members wandering by. He had more of an opportunity to observe things this time, though, noting lots of strange plants around the area.

You can only redeem a max of two from all prompt prps/orps your student is in per OOC 24 hours. You can redeem these here and here! Hey, what was that? Something glinting, shining in the sun . . . bending down, he looked more closely at the ground, then grinned. It was one of those medallion-things! Awesome. Tucking it into a pocket, he decided to head back inside for now.

Roll 1-20: The Oasis looks pretty much abandoned, except for the occasional clan member wandering around gathering supplies around the oasis. You notice an abundance of strange and different crops all patched around the oasis: from unknown herbs to strange, snapping leaves. Back again at the oasis, trying again at fresh air after the interesting experience with poisons prior. Mort was none too intent to get close to any plant at this point, finding that he had the worst luck when they were involved: tech, he decided, truly was his calling. It wasn't without means of control, was not organic and therefore subject to organic whim that no calculation can pin down in full, and was, well, familiar. Still, the quiet of the area at the time was soothing, and the zomboil was considering taking a small doze in the dorms when he saw the striking figure of the Horsemen of Famine.
Now granted he didn't know off the bat that she was the possessor of said title, but her appearance alone was enough to draw his attention. He stared a bit, slack-jawed, before it hit him that perhaps he could ask about the strange affairs he'd noticed here: namely the water supply. Scrambling to his feet and dusting himself off as best he could, he shuffled after her and called, "Er, w-wait! Miss, madam, I-I, er, has question."lizbot Unless she absolutely left the area, in which case you can ignore! 8D;
