The dummy almost exploded when Herryk jabbed his dagger towards it. The dagger did explode, crumpling in Herryk's fist with a sad little crunch. "Ah, well. It did not do so bad, this dagger." Calder adjusted his grip again at Shun's demonstration. "How often do you practice? It feels weird in my hands. Do I slash wide or just jab forward?" He wasn't sure. What was the best move for someone who knew nothing?
He decided the best way to go was brute force, and he tried once more by putting all his strength into it. It worked well to inflict some damage, but the stone snapped at the tip and was nothing more than useless handle by the end.

"I train relatively often. Both armed and hand-to-hand. But I've also been training for years now," he replied while looking at Calder, "The type of slash varies depending on what you aim to do."
The thought of demonstrating with his true daggers came to mind, but he recalled the warning against summoning one's weapons on the island when not in battle.
"Perhaps if there is a chance I can show you with my own weapons at some point," he added.

"It would be interesting to watch. I've only seen weapons coming at me, not explained. Do Reapers get training when you're young or when you grow up?" Calder realized that he really didn't get a chance to talk to a reaper before, and now that weapons were brought up, he wanted to know more. Maybe if he had a better understanding on weapons, he'd know more about how to defeat a Hunter.
He set his broken weapon on the table and gave a apologetic smile to the older Horsemen. "Sorry." He really did want to impress them.
"Maybe we should find the dorms now?" He suggested now that they were all finished with their weapons.That way they could resume their talk.

Calder was rather curious on the matter now, but Shun could see why that was. It was fairly relevant to what they were doing after all. Not to mention the Hunters all used weaponry as well.
"I started to train early on, possibly even before I received my weapons. I got it at a young age as well so things tend to blur together a bit.. I can't say for certain if most other reapers do the same."
He was pretty sure it wasn't the case for Mot for example. But with others, it was a bit harder to tell.
As for seeking out the dorms, he shrugged lightly. He did want to go so he could get a change of bandages. If the others wished to go elsewhere, he was fine with moving on his own.

Ulmuka, the knife now feeling frail in his hands, made his last attempt at an attack. It barely penetrated the leather before it seemed to splinter and fall apart in his hands. The strix merely giggled and wiped his hands on his pants. "That was fun." He said definitively. He gave Calder an encouraging pat on the shoulder. "Not bad for the first time, hm?" It's not like they would be here for a day. Perhaps they would improve over time! The strix was at least positive and encouraging about pretty much everything. He stood and stretched, his wings extending fully behind him and then ruffling as they settled back against him. He was ready to move on. "Y-yeah." She squeaked out to Calder's little tease, fidgeting in her seat. Boilfriend. That word hadn't been tossed their way yet! It was...so embarrassing... "I'm...very sorry about that, Muka." Right, yes, that punch. She never did get the chance to apologize! "He won't do it again." There was a stern tone to her voice that probably meant she had given him a stern talking to and if it happened again, she'd be very upset.
Oh yes, she was very scary.
BUT ANYWAY! The knives. Yes. Test them. That sounded easy enough! Amrita stood back and watched the group attack their targets, merely rolling the shoddily constructed blade in her palms. Something new to think about, that didn't involve still confusing relationships and certain hunchbacks.
After staring at everyone else, she finally decided to give it a go; first she held it blade up, taking a stab at the target.

And then she flipped the blade so it pointed downwards.
Sadly, this didn't go so well with her hands being the way they were.

Her lips pressed into a thin line, staring at the backwards blade in her hand. Maybe if she just...twisted it around a little more here and---OKAY let's try this! With the blade held slightly differently she attacked again, and this time...

Pieces of the bone-blade fragmented, cutting into her dead flesh here and there. BUT! It was still able to be used, just one more time... and hey! At least she did more damage with it this way!

She was on to something here. Like, really on to something! She continued to hold the blade in the slightly adjusted way despite the fragments that poked at her fingers and lunged forward again, taking another fairly good stab at the target.
The knife (or what was left of it) snapped, and she quickly set it aside to tend to the little bone splinters in her hand.

"Well, I'm going to try and find it so that I can drop my stuff off. I'll be back in a bit." He wanted to text Barth after all. Already in a new place and he wanted to tell him so much. He hoped he was doing okay. Would he approve of him using weapons? What about Christof? Was he worried? He'd have to text him and tell him everyone was fine.
His eyes flashed over to Amrita, watching her take stab after stab against the mannequin, before stepping over. "You weapon lasted longer than mine. I bet your ~boilfriend would be impressed." Never not teasing. "Oh....are you okay?" He noticed her hand, and the cut she got while making the weapon.

The last splinter was actually pushed deeper into her skin at Calder's tease; it was purely on accident of course, but alas it happened. She threw a weak glare at the Kelpie, one that was more of a pouty ohmyjackpleasestop than a stern doitnow.
"I-I'm fine! Really. A-and it's because I watched you guys before I tried so..." She brushed off the compliment, considering she felt it was mere luck that it lasted as long as it did. Her fingernails weren't long enough to grab the embedded piece of bone, but she pretended that she got it out and continued the charade of putting the splinters with the broken blade. "I'll, ah, go whereever, just...not near any windows okay." Heights. Why was it heights! At least it wasn't fire she supposed. Grey eyes finally slid over towards Shun and his bandages. Right...that Hunter hurt him; she didn't know the boil very well (if at all), but it still felt wrong to not check up on him, especially after the incident.
"Are you going back to the Dorms?" She asked Shun, deciding to zero him out in that fashion. She did want to say something to him, but she wasn't going to say it in front of everyone. "Or is there somewhere else you wanted to go?" This time her gaze slipped by Herryk and Muka, not wanting to exclude them due to Seeds business.

Shun had placed his hands back into his pockets while listening to Calder and Amrita. He had missed her using her knife but apparently she managed to get some bone splinters into her hand. That.. didn't seem all too pleasant at all. But she was at least an undead so she could probably take the damage a little more easily.
"I plan on it, yes," he replied to the Vetala, "I need to change my bandages."

Muka tilted his head sideways at Amrita. He wanted to help her with her hand but she seemed fine. She and Calder and Shun seemed to be closer friends and so the strix simply hopped backwards a bit.
He was still grinning.
"I hope this isn't rude but I would like to fly around and explore." None of the others were flyers so he wasn't sure if they would understand. "Please take care. Make sure Calder is safe!" He chittered and moved to pat Calder on the back.
"Maybe we will meet back at the dorms!" The strix waggled his talons at all of them before leaping impressively off of the platform and spreading his wings after a bit of a drop. He was gone through the trees in only a moment.
