She let out a soft sigh at his reply, then leaned back in her chair, dropping much of the tall professionalism she had been holding since she had come down into the brig.

Faleen didn't doubt that he could do it... He had the genius to figure something like this out, but it was no surprise to Faleen that he didn't have a clear understanding of what exactly he intended to do.
He was trying to assume that it was such an easy simple task... but it wasn't, anyone could see that.

"Maybe things are already the way they are supposed to be."

How could the others follow this idea? a whole team of Galactics believed in this cause when Deimos himself didn't have more then a child like perspective of the outcome? He might be a genius in robotics, and tech science, but anyone could look at him and tell that that's the only genius he was granted.

She sat in silence for a long time, trying to wrap her head around this.
Slowly, her face turned from mild perplexed, to a quiet dawning or realization.
Deimos must be a puppet.
It was his second and command who probably had more intent and social understanding to get what she wanted from the machine, a use that probably wasn't even what Deimos was intending.
She just didn't have the means of accomplishing this without Deimos.

After considering this, she gave Deimos a long contemplating stare, that seemed to go right past him.

Deimos continued to stare at the floor until Faleen spoke. When she suggested things were the way they were supposed to be his eyes shot up and he shook his head, "No. They're not." There was actual resolve in this statement. He seemed confused about a lot of things, but on this topic he seemed very certain. The world was not how it should be.

Her eyebrows twitched up as her eyes widened. The manner he replied, surprising, and even impressing her.

"Why not?" She asked.
He seemed so certain, did this mean he actually had an answer?

Deimos stared at Faleen, frowning. Somewhere in his head gears were turning. He was making a decision.

Almost a full 30 seconds passed before he decided to speak.

All he said was, "Juliette."

Her head inclined ever so slightly to the side. Technically it could be an answer, though it didn't mean much to Faleen.

"Juliette." Faleen repeated, lifting a hand to her chin as she stared back at Deimos.
What was that to him...? Was it what his second in command was really called? was it the name of a project? Or, considering his own name, was it possibly something else.
"For a woman." She added, still looking as if she was puzzling something out.

"I don't want to talk about this any more." Deimos concluded quietly, then added, "...I'm hungry."

It was this reply that caused her head lifted back up. A familiar reply that helped click the last couple of exchanges into place.
He sounded and acted like Faleen herself did on a certain subject that Faleen just -did not talk about-

Had he been a Rocket, she would have respected the statement and left it at that, content with her own limited conclusion, but she didn't owe this man that kind of respect.
"You lost someone."
Could that really be it? People always comment on the power of love and what it does to people. Who didn't experience that overwhelming pain when they lose someone precious, it was hard to deal with in normal circumstances, so what would someone with weak wills and a brilliant mind do do deal with it?

His last comment went unacknowledged.

"No. She isn't lost she's going to come back." The response was quiet, but confidant. He picked at the edge of their table, "......do you have any sandwiches?"

His reply left Faleen a little speechless, prompting her to just stare at him as she considered how to respond to that.
It was... so naive.
In her silence her face flushed pink, though she did well to contain an anger that was now clawing at her chest.
He truly believed that, Whoever this Juliette was to him, he was going to change the world to get her back and It was that simple to him?

She couldn't exactly fault him for it, who didn't have that wish. Maybe it just seemed so anti-climactic, or maybe she was jealous.
Or it was that hopeful carelessness that Faleen hated so much in Rosie.

His last question snapped her out of her bewilderment, she blinked a couple of times, able to swiftly reign herself back in.
"... I'll talk to the guard, find out what you can get." She said after a long stiff silence.
A hand reached down to snatch up one of the pokeballs from her thigh.
"-Under the agreement that we get back on topic." she finished with a pointed stare at the man.

".....kay.." Deimos' shoulders slumped as he focused back on the data pad. ".....the power is from an energy field regulated by the zero point energy. They're all.. y'know.. tangled together." He shrugged, "I use a matter alteration ball to start the field inside the containment ring." He was describing this by drawing in the air with his finger.

The problem Star had described was already a surfacing. Aside from zero point energy, nothing Deimos was describing made any sense. He was using terminology he'd created himself to describe.. who knows what. He probably didn't know the proper terms for anything he was working with, since so much of his work spilled entirely out of his own theories. He may as well have been telling Faleen he made the engine go by sticking a doohickey in a thingamabob.

She allowed him to continue, talk as much as he could, but it was quickly apparent that there wasn't going to be anything useful in what he was telling her.
All the same, it was recorded.

She watched him with arched eyebrows, after what seemed like the hundredth 'thingy'
"Where did you study?" She interjected suddenly
Her elbow was on the table, propping up her head.

Deimos looked up, blinking. "Oh I.. uhm. The academy.. in Sunyshore.." He shook his head, "I didn't graduate.. it was too expensive."

"Did you not learn proper terminology in your schooling?" she continued, seeming to get to her point.

Who knows if that's what he ever studied, surly he had this interest for longer then his academy days.

"Well.. I did. But we didn't cover all of this... a lot of this stuff I had to figure out myself." It did explain why some of the terms he used made sense (like zero point energy) while others were complete nonsense.

"...and some of the terms I didn't like."

she exhaled a breath through her nose and lifted her head.
"The terminology you're using is making things much more difficult to understand."
Of course, science like this, she wasn't feeling too hopeful they would understand most of it, but the fact he kept using made up words was making it down right impossible.

"...And I need to be able to understand."
